Invuln/Rad Build

Hi all,

 

I'm working on my Invuln/Rad and realized, I'm not that versed in Invuln since the changes. Anyone got a good build for Invuln/Rad and advise for how to build? Also, what Alpha? I'm leaning towards Musculature, but am open to others.

I do not run Rad so do not have a build.  You HAVE TO look at Hyperstrike’s builds and templates (he has an Invulnerability for every AT that gets the set) just plop in your Rad to the Tank Inv template and fill in the rest. Or find a Hyperstrike Invul/whatever or search for a Hyperstrike Invul/Rad.  He regularly responds to build requests and there. Is a 99% likelihood he has already posted one.

 

You can do your own research, then if you want the best go get a Hyperstrike build

I like Resilient for Invulnerability, since it effects so many powers and pushes the exotic Resists over 70%. (The ToHit buff also effects Invincibility a little bit, it's a bigger deal with Inv/SS because of Rage.)

He also makes a super indestructible version.  Forget what he calls it.   For when “just not dying” is not enough, and you want to make it look easy

Not having played this but knowing the two sets intimate on different tankers:

 

1) Invul changes were very minor. Basically yoi don't need to over-program Psi Resist in anymore. Just and IO or two of Impervium will do.

2) Find ways to improve End efficiency. Invul doesn't have recovery tools and you'll be buring blue with your damage toggle plus the heavy hitters from Rad.

3) Depending on your risk comfort levels, either throw a couple of Accurate Heal sets into Rad Siphon or just full proc bomb it. It's not a great heal but if you feel like you need something between Dull Pain refreshing you have that.

3.5) Definitely put Theft of Essence's Endurance proc into Rad Siphon. It'll make the power pay for itself when it procs.

Rad Melee wouldn't be my first pairing for Invuln, but I looked at it anyway. Here's what I came up with!

 

Tanker (Invulnerability - Radiation Melee).mbd

 

I'm not a big fan of Tower builds, so my armor numbers may seem anemic compared to what's common here, but I do feel like I did get a good balance of damage and mitigation. The DEF and RES are actually fine in a saturated mob, this is just with 1 target in range.

 

What an End-heavy combo!

Simply because something is heavily Winter-O'ed doesn't mean you can't still eke a decent build out.
The basic build of the Invuln doesn't really change.

Therefore your attacks and the bonuses they grant are ALL GRAVY.

Thanks for the build SB. I appreciate it. It also looks pretty close to what I came up with. So it was good to have another source to look at. And yeah, I don't think I'd do Invuln/Rad again, it hasn't been my favorite pairing, but I think I can make it work.

Please don't misunderstand what I saying. Winter-Os were needed to get to the numbers I wanted when I tried the build as well (prior to finding your post).
