Alright and that closes out the Sentinel Bounty for April. Big congratulations to @Videra for taking the crown and single handedly proving Sentinels are the best dps in the game! 😏

Up next, Brutes!!!!!!

Any chance on rule changes for Brute submissions?

Or is it cool for me to use signature summons, warburg nukes, shivan, snowman, etc..?

I think we’ve already reached a point where Sentinel submissions can’t be compared to Dominator/Stalker submissions.

What's the point of banning lores when allowing signature summons?

Couple reasons. One is just lores being banned due to tradition more than anything and me overlooking signature summons.

I initially expected they would be blocked by the general outline I had for temp powers that the temp power needs to be readily available and practical to be used as part of normal day to day play.

Now that that Pandora's box has been opened and I've realized that signature summons DO meet those criteria, I'm allowing them on the possibility that, like epic pets, one or more of them will have unique synergy with one set or another.

To this effect I'm implementing a division system with the current rules being division 1 while most all runs done before the first signature summon run counting as division 2

I don't think envenomed daggers belongs in division 2, it's a repeatable attack power not belonging to any pickable set and obfuscates in-set performance (namely the DPS metric).

Edit: Judgement might meet this criteria to with the exception of frequency

Well the idea of div 2 is the same minus pets but you bring up exactly the kinda point is like to see more feedback on with regards to division creation. I have no problems with a crap load of divisions so if you have suggestions please feel free to share them

Gosh, I guess I better give this thing a shot then!  I'll just use this regular old character on their regular old real + sustainable build, I guess I got 55s.  Lotta stiff competition for the Brute contest, but it would appear that I managed to take the coveted 1st place spot (for now).  That makes sense, as I did twy weawy hawd.

Run Type: Pylon
Archetype: Brute
Primary Powerset: Radiation Melee
Secondary Powerset: Fiery Aura
Time in seconds: 55
Hybrid: Assault Radial
Number of Runs: 1
Version: Issue 27 Page 7 - 20240524

Used: Offense Amplifier, Recovery Serum, Tank Signature Summon, Envenomed Daggers.  This build is entirely sustainable and doesn't need Recovery Serum; it could just use Consume in actual content, as well as switching to Cardiac for serious gameplay since Musculature's dmg bonus is heavily diluted on Brutes.  The ability to swap Incarnate powers is fast and easy though, so I don't mind bastardizing them to suit the situation.

You said you specifically wanted a data chunk for the build so here you go:

@Shin Magmus Currently dealing with a bug preventing import via datachunk at this time. If I cant get it fixed before the deadline on Friday your time will still go up after i get it pulled in via an older mids build and verified.

Additionally Divisions are officially implemented, I am still working on improving the accessibility and readability of the data, but from now on all runs will require a Division and Recommended flag for submission, please refer to OP for guidelines.

Do you want me to just DM you the build on Discord?  I mean we're all in the same place and I still have it because it's my Live Build.

If you'd like to post the build file here or send it to me on the forums, either would work. It helps to have it done here for tracking. Either way the issue needs to be resolved as the datachunk is the most practical way to store the builds directly in the sheet so Mids needs to be able to import them.

I don't know who's actually in charge of fixing MIDs, just that there exists a Discord for it.  Anyways, here you go, as requested:

I have been quiet about this for a long time. But I really need to say this, I never expected to see a worse testing system than Trapdoor. WTH are these builds and rules? Not only are most of them basically non-functional outside of a Pylon test, but they are built in completely idiotic ways in that no reasonable person would build, using temps no one will use, in completely unrealistic situations. Come on, Koopak, I know you are smarter than this, but I also know you can tunnel vision far too much. These have become the laughing stock of the community, no one takes it seriously, except maybe the new and casual people who don't know any better and are now just talking about how Sonic/Bio Sentinels are the strongest build in the game.  We have people in here chasing for damage set bonus, and I don't mean like procs, but like flat out +4% damage set bonuses, some of the rotations, energy, and accuracy here are reliant on Geas which is a 10% uptime. Even worse is that these builds only work in casual situations, as it assumes you aren't in HM as not only is this assuming you have no kins in the group, but it is allowing temps. But in casual play you also have access to inspirations which costs peanuts so it isn't being built for casual play either. To add more fuel to this bonfire of awfulness is that it bans your lore, which you know, typically the thing you save to summon specifically to deal with massive threats. But then allow epic summons because reasons, which no one uses, ever.

The only situation this is realistic is if you are not on a team because clearly you have no support, have unlimited inf to summon Recluse over and over, fighting for one minute out of ten, forgot lores and inspirations exist, and also have enemies not fight back because these builds have no survivability, no teammates, no lores, and no inspirations. So basically just this. These tests need a serious revamp, or it will continue to be a joke in the community.

1: Trapdoor was essentially perfect for producing and testing builds that can function in the actual game.

2: I agree that that this ruleset is essentially a circus.

It's decent, but there is an inherent randomness in the mobs, almost all videos I see have people struggle with the grates including myself, and any pets are borked on it which removes a lot of builds. Especially Masterminds.

I do feel for me personally a lot of it comes down to self limiting factors, Pylons are good to test on if you know what it is you are testing, I agree using recluse doesn't give you a great number, but for me I like to judge the following:

"Full Burst" Geas (Not recluse or things unusable outside of 4*)
"Burst" Active incarnates used (Hybrid, destiny)
"Sustain" No active hybrid/destiny, but things like build up are fine

All using the same build and also running a office mission as listed and the more difficult one by @Ston (https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/51687-clear-speed-test-ae-mission-trapdoor-v20/)

With those 5 tests all using the same build you can see what your character can do I find ❤️

That's also how the game works.

But yeah, the minute you use pylons as anything more than a benchmark of your build's ability to speed kill AVs without pets, it starts to fail as a data point.

I detect nothing wrong with your statement.  I've said before that the only way that the result of a Pylon Test is worthwhile and useful data at all: is if it's on the same build you run the Trapdoor/Mission sim tests with and is the same build you actually play in the real game, on real content.  The second you swap from your real build to make a Pylon-only build: the time and the data have become worthless.  It's Koopak's contest and he will make some arguments as to how this worthless data still matters to him, but I wouldn't use any of it for any real comparisons.

I play the video game: when I run into other players they are never running one of these Pylon-only builds.  The only testing data that would matter, is data using their builds as they are when I encounter them in-game.
