Alright, since this is a server side change that actually might need some detangling the coding noodles, I figure it might be time to request this.

In the time that I've been playing the servers, 2019 to current day, I have hit the global cap for friends, global friends, and blocks. I had originally considered trying to find a way to create a "mimic" mod to increase the limit but as Michiyo has mentioned in the discord feedback channel, that's a server side limit that may need developer attention. The mod isn't possible due to the hardbaked coding for the server side social features of the game. And thus, here I am, putting in a request and/or suggestion for future changes in need.

So, here's my suggestion.

We need to bump up the friends/global/blocks up to at the very least 250 cap. I know this may require a lot of time to decipher and figure out how to make it possible, but I got faith in the developers skills here to be able to work out a way to make it possible eventually.

It's been a long waited issue that I've been chewing my lip over, and trying to work out ways around the 50 cap currently instated in the backend, but I hit a point fairly recently that I feel this may be a needed change for all players of the game servers here. With the growth of the community and more active players coming here from all over, we need to have a way to continue to safe guard our play experience, keep touch with those we enjoy playing with, and wish to keep touch with. To be honest with you I think even 250 social cap might be still optimistic, but hope for humanity and all that, I try to keep an optimistic mindset for community's of this growing scale.

Will it be possible to do this? I don't know, but Michiyo had made it clear that this was more a developers issue that needs addressing on the server back end.

I'm not a DEV, but I think this would fall under the same reasoning for the cap on /ignore not being raised.

Bumping up the limit for /gfriends would probably caused the same issues that larger-size /ignore lists did.

The size of the /ignore list had to be limited due to issues that it caused not only to your character but to other player's characters as well.

Is there a limit to the number of players that can join a global channel?

That may be one way around the issue via one or multiple player-created global channels.

You wouldn't be able to see if they were online or not, but it would give you a more "private" place to interact.

Personally, I don't need a larger gfriend list. I invite people I think are cool or good gamers, but then don't tend to team-up with them again as they change servers and/or start only running level 50's.

That being said, good luck with what you wish for.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

Well, can't check for certain at the moment, but I think you can check to see who is online in a global channel.  If you open the friends tab for the channel it lists who is online.

Sounds like a good work around then.

Do you know if there is a max membership for global channels?

I don't recall there being one, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

Serious question: Do you really need to block 250 people?

Also, you do realize that this mod already exists. It's called Discord. You can set up a server which allows you to communicate with and/or block far more than 250 people.

Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own.

I think adding a "last online" counter would be a better choice.

lets face it, most of these folks coming back because of the email will fade.

im not ganna trust the server status page at the time of this post because its in the middle of a workday but we both know many people have not seen people on their friends list in years.

this can also be used as a tool to figure out how long someone has been offline to snap up a name whenever that program goes live

Not a bad idea, might make maintaining the social panel a bit easier having a "last online" date and time attached.

Global channels have a 2500 member limit.
