Your Signature Characters.

Recommended Posts

I don't really have a signature character, but I do have what might be considered "signature groups" of characters on Excelsior of varying ATs.

I've got more Lincolns than a car dealership, nine Rakshasa, some kung fu Monks, and about a half-dozen avatars of Egyptian Gods and Goddesses.

So many alts, so little time...

Those times you saw no footprints, I had Fly toggled on.

I guess if I had to pick one, it would be my Ice/Willpower sentinel Frostbeaux. I've gotten quite a few sentinel haters to admit that if you really deck out one with sets and know what you're doing, they are great.

I've never really had a "main" character in any MMO I've played.

I have characters that I play MORE than others, but they tend to shift around based on whatever mood I'm in, and if I've fallen in with a regular group.

Usually I just keep thinking up new ideas, and go "Ooh, I really like this!" and play the heck out of it, and by the time I'm in end-game and finishing the build up and stuff, I've had another idea and that becomes my next big project.

I think my highest vet level is around 15-16 on any character because of it.

To me a signature character is the one that comes to mind when you think of an AT.

For me, I'll add that the powersets and character concept play off each other before I consider the character "signature," but I get that's not everyone's thing.  With that in mind though, here are the few signature characters I can call to mind, by AT:

   Scrappers:

Street Justice / Willpower - a 1940's private eye who got science blapped into the present.  No super powers per se, just moxie and grit.

Martial Arts / Ninjutsu - a former enforcer on the Pacific Rim who crossed her employer, but ended up in the Zig before the axe dropped.

Blaster:   Archery / Martial Combat - a descendant of Molpadia, an Amazon who killed her injured queen before Theseus could have his fun with her.

Controller:   Illusion / Dark Affinity (Ill/Emp on live) - a ghost-like being who haunted the Hollows for a while after the Hollowing.  I still have no idea what she actually is.

Brute:  Pipe Wrench / Manhole Cover - a Valkyrie who's taking an extended vacation from slinging mead for ungrateful Einherjar.

Mastermind:  Robotics / Force Field - my one and only attempt at playing MM.  Basically Hans Moleman from this clip, but with teeth.

I should have signatures for Corruptors, Tanks, and Defenders, given how much I played those ATs either here or on live, but none really come to mind.

Flitz, my MA/SR scrapper was my original toon on live and is my first back to 50 on HC. Definitely my signature toon.

For the other archetypes, Lead Hose (AR/Dev) is my primary blaster and another recreation of a live toon, as is Red Rag (Fire/Fire Brute) on redside.

I don't have a signature toon for any of the other archetypes, at least not yet! But given my altitis and the fast pace of levelling on HC, I am sure they will arrive one day.

Torchbearer: Flitz (MA/SR Scrapper), Lead Hose (AR/Dev Blaster), Red Rag (Fire/Fire Brute) ... and many more!

Not sure if I'd use the word signature but they do tend to be my go to characters

  • GRETA-001 >> Claws/SR scrapper about 200 vet levels and definitely my main
  • Reyna Morningdew >> Empathy/Rad.  My go to Empath.
  • Seismic Susurrus >> Earth/Storm controller for those times i want controlled chaos

For me, my signature characters aren't the ones I spend the most time on but the ones I have the most connection to.

Blueside: Angel Red - Kin/Arch Defender, was my very first character on Legacy and the first one to 50 on multiple servers. Alluding to another thread, despite her name, she is not an angel but is half-dragon.

Redside: Hemorrhagic Fever - Water/Poison Corruptor, my second 50 on HC and is tied with 1st place on the most fun to play. It is truly vile and deserved of all it's villainhood. Its creation precedes the pandemic, but I've avoided playing it since that kicked up for obvious reasons.

Goldside: Burnished Dragon - MA/Nin Stalker, she escaped New Tokyo and made her way to Praetoria City where she joined the Resistance, secretly working within the Tyrant's regime to mitigate their insidious destruction of humanity's free will in their "utopian society".

Dislike certain sounds? Silence/Modify specific sounds. Looking for modified whole powerset sfx?

Check out Michiyo's modder or Solerverse's thread.  Got a punny character? You should share it.

I realized why I am having a hard time sticking to a blaster to become my signature blaster.  The ones I like the costumes and story for all use firearms and in my mind a blaster blasts not shoots.

I am either going to put more effort into my ice/ice blaster or make a dark blaster.

I'm really enjoying my Elec/NRG Blaster.
