Yeah against a budget upwards of $300 million (if not more since budgets are always understated).   Even without COVID, there's no way that it would have pulled in a billion + at the box office.  They'd have been lucky to barely break even.  It just wasn't that good of a movie.

Nothing against Florence Pugh as I'm sure she's a fine actress.  Yelena just isn't an interesting character in my opinion.  We've already seen Black Widow.  Yelena is the bargain basement/budget/clearance sale Black Widow ripoff.

All of those films were flops too lol.

That high of a budget does work against being a hit and helps it be considered a flop.

I enjoyed Yelena but I will say, I felt they had her whooping Hawkeye a little to much and I wasn't feeling he was pulling punches.

And yeah, I thought that a bad example.  But I hated Birds of Prey and didn't think either Suicide Squad was all that.  Still watched them!  And they did give us the much more fun Peacemaker.

I didn't think she was a bad character either, just not an "A-List" level.  I don't think she's an interesting enough character (along with the others) to carry a film though.

I see the potential, but so far, she's no Scarlett.

Yelena in Hawkeye > is truly awful and a poor copy/paste of the entirety of Natasha’s character arc/story

Fixed that for you.  Like I said earlier, we already had the OG Black Widow who was done far, far better.  Yelena is bargain basement/discount Black Widow.

You’re free to have your own opinion. Quoting someone and editing their post is, if not against the forum rules, a real dick move. Thanks for reminding me why you’re on my Ignore list.

Quoting someone and editing their post is, if not against the forum rules . . .

The forum tech allows editing of quotes and there is nothing that specifically disallows editing quotes in the CoC, unless it violates some other existing rule.

It's fine to like or dislike certain characters and actresses, but please be excellent to each other.

Thanks for the clarification. Good to know where the Mods "stand" on this. Incredibly weird choice.

I would argue that if you altered a quote, then responded to that changed version as if it was the author's original words, or otherwise tried to pass it off as an actionable violation, then yes, the person who did that *should* have corrective action taken against them.  That is to say, if intentionally misquoting or distorting what someone else said isn't against the rules, it should be...

Even when it's a joke?  Even when it's just quoting a portion?

There is no per se rule against modifying quotes.  If you feel that someone modifying quotes is otherwise violating the CoC (https://forums.homecomingservers.com/code-of-conduct/) please report it.

The original is still available for public viewing (presuming the author didn't edit or hide the post), as are any quoted copies of the original (quoted material isn't altered if the original is later edited).  That's why it's not a violation of a rule, and why moderators have to make subjective determinations of whether the use of the ability to edit quoted text crosses any lines (libel, for example).  In and of itself, it's just another tool for communication, and no more actionable than quoting individual words, or quoting a sentence, or only editing to add italicization/boldface/underlines/strikethroughs to draw attention to them.  The intent is what is and should be examined, not the editing itself.

What’s the punchline in someone editing a post to reverse the OP’s statement? It’s just trolling.

If someone took your post here, quoted it and edited it to look like an announcement of new power sets and posted that, would that also be OK?

What's any of this have to do with The Thunderbolts*?

A GM gave you your answer, and just as @Luminara said, the original is still available for anyone to see.

Nothing.  Some people just can't handle others challenging their opinion or having a thought that differs from theirs.

So your answer to being "trolled" is to be a troll yourself based on your own definition...

Again, what's any of this got to do with The Thunderbolts*?

and curiously, an asterisk

Here's the SuperBowl game trailer (and that big Starship track...)

Small update: a tweet (Xeet, whatever) from Marvel Studios Japan explains that asterisk. Maybe.

Spoiler

In a world without heroes, a team of outlaws, all with their own problems, rises up
Thunderbolts

The true identity of the mysterious man, Bob.
What is the hidden meaning behind the asterisk in the title? ⁉️

*THE AVENGERS ARE NOT AVAILABLE

...and if you feel let down by that, same.

At least you didn't have to go to a Nerdist clickbait or The Bad Place to find that out.

Looking at the video and there's so many questions:

1. Is there even a functional Avengers team anymore?  They've done a good job disassembling them. By my count at least 7 are now dead, 8 if you include Coulson. Another handful have left for deep space or other dimensions.  I can think of 5 as possibly active, none of which, with the exception of Hulk, pose anything significantly more threatening than a team of super soldiers and elite assassins. One of those is Spider-Man, whose life is so altered that I'm not sure he's even part of the team.   Theoretically, they should be able to pull in some non-Avenger allies, like She-Hulk, and Black Panther 2, but they'd be in the same boat as the Thunderbolts: not functioning at a trained team level yet.

2. What on earth did they give USAgent for a shield?  It looks not much better than his homemade one was.

3. What's happening with all the construction at the former Avengers/Stark Tower?  I know the Thunderbolts now occupy it, but it looks like they're adding a missile silo onto it or something.

4. How on earth are the Thunderbolts supposed to stop that?  They've got a specific set of skills and that ain't it.  It's more Doctor Strange's turf, and he just did some dimension hopping.  (Wong is where, exactly?)  While I find such a mismatch intriguing, I've a fear they're going to resolve this by Picard'ing the situation and talking the villain down.  That would kind of take the wind from the movie's sails.

5.  The most important question:  Why did Red Guardian shave his head? (and leave his beard unkempt?)
