Ukase Posted September 13 Posted September 13 In a few weeks, Dr. Q is slated to be the weekly. And then the other 3 shard tfs will follow, one each week. The last time I did these I was hanging out with some Task Force Junkies on Excelsior. Most of those guys aren't playing anymore, or they're playing after I've logged out. In any event, I figured I'd ask if anyone has the /loc coordinates for these missions written down somewhere and if they could share them. (not the defeats at various "Point X-ray" or the various monuments - we can all see where they are with an open map.) As you all know - a lot of the time in the shard tfs is just spent going from pt A to pt B. I was thinking it would be great to have the /loc of the next mission to send someone with an ATT to while we complete the current mission. Instead of 60-75 minutes, we might make it closer to 50 or 55. I'm a bit surprised I haven't seen any of this info shared so far, but maybe it's just bad searching on my part. 1
lemming Posted September 13 Posted September 13 For Dr Q, getting ported to the various hunt locations speeds stuff up and most missions wind up being fairly close to the hunt areas. One trick, start a league with an alt and have them incan people to each step.

High_Beam Posted September 13 Posted September 13 With the right team mix, ATT, TT and MT I have done Quarterfields in 45 minutes. Then again its being led by Blapperella who has that shit down to a machine level of precision. I have actually never been on one where Incandescence was used. But yeah its the traveling and the the street hunts. Its like Numina in space! 1 Girls of Nukem High - Excelsior - Tempus Fabulous, Flattery, Jennifer Chilly, Betty Beatdown, Totally Cali, Two Gun Trixie Babes of War - Excelsior - High Beam (Yay), Di Di Guns, Runeslinger, Munitions Mistress, Tideway, Hard Melody, Blue Aria Many alts and lots of fun. Thank you Name Release For letting me get my OG main back!
Gerswin Posted September 13 Posted September 13 A fast person with range slotted teleport and incan works very well. Save TT for the zone-changes. 1

I was unaware leagues were options for task forces. If that's accurate, I'd very much like to run leagues for all of them. If the result is an increased number of opponents based on number of players, that could be a lot of fun.
Psyonico Posted September 13 Posted September 13 You can be on a league, but the TF is limited to your team only. I did a competition ITF once where 2 teams were in a league but each ran their own ITF, the idea there was so that the two teams could chat with each other. 2 What this team needs is more Defenders
lemming Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Yep. Each Team in theory could be on different TFs even. For Dr Q, it's mainly to enable incan points. You could run a bunch of them and coordinate Babbage spawns like they do on Torch iirc. 1

I don't feel the least bit cheap or dirty for admitting it - but I've also used this trick on those ouro challenge badge missions - where you get no travel powers, and let the league alt tp my character to the doors. 2

Ukase Posted September 13 Author Posted September 13 Figured I'd share this document. Spoiler Dr. Q TF First mission: Defeat 50 Rularuu at Foxtrot (while forming a teammate with ATT travels to Foxtrot) 2nd Mission: Rescue 7 explorers – just need to rescue the 7 explorers. For my money, I'll take fire over water every day. Water is good - but with my playstyle, I just like fire better. It took most of this morning because of the numerous distractions, including a 90 minute row on the C2 erg. I had forgotten how much Rularuu will sleep/mez a blaster! The Sheer Will accolade came in handy! I mainly brought the water/Atomic blaster because that character has the tp pool, self, target and fold space. Certainly a team will fare much better than I did dual-boxing. And candidly, I should have triple boxed it, as it wouldn't have been against the rules, but I thought - what if there are some easy merits? I can grab them with the third account! So, I took numerous breaks for adamastor and some other GMs. Still - If I didn't think this set of notes wouldn't save me some time for when it's the weekly, I would never have done it. There are much faster ways to get 122 merits! DRQTFnotes.docx 1
Snarky Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I have run these a few times with members of the old Cosmic Council crew and Task Force Junkies. Speed. yes, it seems impossible, but it was quite efficient. I followed, and as usual have no clue. It does make me see why a lot of Cosmic took off. once you start memorizing Shadow Shard TFs you are approaching escape velocity....

I have Ironblade on every shard. - My only AE arc: The Origin of Mark IV (ID 48002) Link to the story of Toggle Man, since I keep having to track down my original post.

Just hang on for dear (un)life and hit what whatever you're told to. It feels utterly chaotic until you realize that the team lead (and probably a couple others) have this down to a science. You blink, it's the final boss and your stomach is still 4 mission maps back. Good times. 😁 1 1 Sky-Hawke: Rad/WP Brute Alts galore. So...soooo many alts.
