First, I started playing in 2004 as well. So you have no seniority over me as far as game play

What's your global so I can just ignore you now?

i dunno what to say because im not sure what you are fighting for.  it does not really sync up with what i typed before

Not fighting for anything. I misread your initial post a tad, but the main point is that so long as people are loaded into a mission and stuff is dying, then all parties are gaining xp, even if someone is speed rushing to the end. And there are tools in place to handle the kind of person you mentioned in your post.

Global: @Valnara1; Discord Handle: @Valnara#0620

I primarily play on Everlasting, but you may occasionally find me on Indom. 🙂

Notable Characters: Apocolyptica - Demons/Storm MM; Lurking Monster - Human-Form WS; Environmentabot - Bots/Nature MM; Miss Fade - Ill/Traps Controller; Sister Apocalypse - Beast/Dark MM; Dr. Elaina Wrath - Plant/Rad Controller (Join the House of Wrath, and spread the word of science!); Ruff Ruff Boom - AR/Devices Blaster

Just play red side... or gold side... or level 50 content... or pretty much anything other than low level blue side content and you will never run into him.

You can also do as I do and smack em on ignore in the forums. His asinine and egregiously incorrect and horribly misinformed post don’t ever cross my screen thanks to this feature

Pugs are fun, I like the variety of putting 8 different playstyles together on a team.  It keeps running the same content from being stale.  I enjoy adapting to my team, however they want to play.

KB and poor use of Teleport are probably the 2 things most likely to have me leave early for a new team.  But that's my choice.  In 20 years of play I've never had to kick someone, seems weird to have that thrown about so much.  I like that COH has a more positive culture than most other games.  Hope it stays that way.

I'll see if I can do something special for post #3333, but it will probably just be some quick comment about some info that pertains to 1% of the players

In my experience it is extremely rare in game for someone to be a big enough douche-nozzle to be kicked from a team.  Most of the time it does happen, it's because someone went AFK in the mission and we completed it, then had to kick them to select the next mission.  Even then their space is customarily reserved for a short time to see if they come back.

As for this lone-wolfing business, it happens more often than that but rarely results in kicking.  Most of the time, I'll just be silently judging you for it.  To me it's more of a small breach in etiquette than a kicking offense.  You'll be removed from my Christmas-card list for doing it.  And I'll make fun of you to other people at parties.

I kick for not leaving the mission maybe once a week. When it happens, there's tells going out explaining why and asking them to send a tell back when they've returned, becuase I will save a place for a little while. Real-life happens to everyone, now and then.

They'll have to be pretty bad about it to earn the boot from me. Bad as in going pretty far away, and refusing to return after being asked. Asking is done privately via tells. Then by asking in team chat. And then by teleports. I think I've booted people for this a couple times in the past year. I make a note, and one-star them.

Team members don't have to be shoulder to shoulder, they can split up to tackle different challenges within mission parameters, as is popular during that one TF (numina?)

One of my favorite teaming experiences involved soloing Clockwork king with my bots/traps/mu MM during a LGTF when the game was live. No one complained about it, but someone missed that i said i would solo him so by the time they got Penny to the door someone asked "what happened to the Clockwork King?" Someone else answered "Cheetatron solo'd him" felt really cool tbh

During the first year of Homecoming, I joined a PUG Numina TF with a group of people who had never played City of Heroes on live.  When it came time for the hunt missions, they did them all one at a time, with everyone going to each zone together instead of splitting up.   It took about a hour and 45 minutes IIRC, and was easily the worst Numina TF I had ever been on.

But hey, at least we all stuck together and no one lone wolfed it. :classic_wacko:

this is the reason i often set TFs to +1 or +2 enemies buffed in the 20-40 range - strongly encourages the oldschool team feel that i enjoy. also makes non combat archetypes more valuable too
