I am stumped. I haven't changed any settings and always keep my drivers up to date. What used to be the soft/round/dark swirling effect has become squares.

Anyone else encounter this? Is there a fix?

Very odd.

Have you tried selecting the " Reset Graphics on next Run " in settings on the Launcher? Might be worth a try.

it's just right for me..."

( Unless it's Raining, or Cold, or Really Dirty

or there are Sappers, Man I hate those Guys...)

You're launching the game via the HCLauncher? I had these for a long time on Victory, using our launcher but doing some testing if I launched the game via HCLauncher the squares went away... I never tracked down the issue.

Well, there is a very interesting addition to my squares problem, and now I don't know what to think. Just for the heck of it, I updated Tequila (that I haven't used forever), ran it and logged in to the game. NO SQUARES. I can log into and run the game fine on both Tequila and the HC Launcher, but only get the squares on HCL. So strange.....

Thanks for replying, GM Crumpet. I did verify and no luck. I wonder, though, why the squares would appear in the game after using the HC Launcher but not Tequila. Aren't they the same graphics files being used for both?

Basically they use the same Graphics but not the same files, u have 2 copies of the Game now , each with his own files which are pretty much the same. But if File A is corrupt in HC , File A in Tequila is not, cause its a different copy of the same file.

GM Impervium is the BEST! He took the time to help me and got rid of the squares appearing in my game! I am SO happy to have my beautiful game back, and knowing that it wasn't my video card going bad...whew.  Thanks to all of you who gave me suggestions ❤️

For the record, in case anyone else comes across this sort of thing in the future, all I had Healix do was delete their HC directory (after backing up all their personal stuff like screenshots, setting, binds, etc) and reinstall. I wasn't 100% sure that would work, but clearly, it did 😃

The only reason that conceivably wouldn't work is if there was a Mod involved. But yeah, "Nuke it from orbit" tends to be just as efficient for those without a monthly bandwidth restriction. 😛
