Magic gets different certain contacts than natural, etc. At one time this was the case, at least in Atlas Park. But that restriction was removed a long time ago. 1
Display Name Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I just power-lvl to 50 and do Flashbacks until I get all of the badges. Wait... 1 @Super Whatsit Superbase passcode (Excelsior) is "passcode-6475" It's all a Nemesis plot. But not everything is a Nemesis plot!
Snarky Posted April 6 Author Posted April 6 Update! Just finished all content through level 19. This includes Gold Nova and Imperial, Blue, and Red. Also, most Ouro badges available. i have not done the 2nd group of challenge badges yet. Will be stopping at 20 for a few missions, red/blue, and maybe that 2nd set of Ouro challenges. Then to 24, stop exp and grind more lol. 855 badges. 22,588 enemies defeated. 717 missions done. Reward Merits = 1,421. Character creation was Mar 9, so not too bad so far. 3
Healix Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I just finished doing the entire Pillar wayback missions, start to finish, in order. I had a BLAST. I got more inf, badges and merits than I ever expected and I understand the game lore so much better now. Also, starting out at the lower levels made me appreciate travel powers like flying so much more LOL. I got to do things that I was never able to do on live. In all the years of playing, I have never once been bored because after all this time, I am still seeing things I have never seen before. Mostly, I am grateful for the second chance to play this game that I love. 2 1 Forever grateful to be back in my city!
Snarky Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 Update! Just finished all content through level 24. 966 Badges. 37, 119 enemies defeated. 2,096 missions done. Reward Merits = 2,250. Will top briefly at 25 for a couple things, then go to 29 and stop experience. The next section is all 25-29 content and all 20-29 (including First & Night Wards) 1
Healix Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Gratz, Your Snarkness!!! Well done! 1 Forever grateful to be back in my city!

There is a bit more to it if your OCD is very strong though. When I've tried this I've been aiming to get all my contacts to confidant status (full bar) but that raises an issue blueside. A lot of the old origin contacts share a pool of missions alongside those specific to them individually. So, if you tap out one origin contact before moving onto the next you can find there aren't enough missions left to get the new contact to confidant. Unfortunately, even bearing the above in mind my last attempt at this was spoiled by a contact I couldn't get a full bar on. I'd been cycling through all five origin contacts in each level range but I still ran out of missions. Other than that the main dangers are forgetting to do something (the atlas park safeguard is easy to miss) or just simply not shutting off xp soon enough. You have to be very careful of mission and story arc completion bonuses, particularly early on. Something I've been enjoying while doing this kind of challenge is to try to get field crafter more or less through drops alone. It gives some purpose to all the enemies you are wading through with xp turned off. You still don't pick up enough lv10 recipes though. It's also quite satisfying to pick up the exploration badges and history plaques as you go too. It's a different experience doing it when the mobs are still a threat. Lately I've given up trying this sort of run in favour of just completing everything in ouroboros. It's easier and there's no need to shut off xp so you are always progressing. 1

The next section is all 25-29 content and all 20-29 (including First & Night Wards) That's a surprisingly high number of missions... I would never have guessed so many at that level of content. I guess you're earning 1.074 merits per mission (give or take) which makes me now consider the ratio of merits to missions over the game generally, a question I'd never even imagined until I read your stuff. Good work. 1 If going to space for 11 minutes makes you an astronaut, then I'm probably an expert gynaecologist.

Good work. I got a lot of merits from doing all zone badges, plus defeating monsters, doing TF/SF, and various badging activity. So the mission merits are a smaller part

So the mission merits are a smaller part I figured as much. It just seems there's a rough correlation of 1:1 mission per merit. I think we'll have a better idea of that ration once you've completed every single mission in the game and calculated how many merits you can actually obtain without repeating content good luck! 🤣 1 If going to space for 11 minutes makes you an astronaut, then I'm probably an expert gynaecologist.

There's a lot more high level content I believe Well, i am OCD, but i am not counting that. You win lol. seriously though, there are in the neighborhood of 300 contacts. Roughly. Discounting endless contacts we can say they average 10 missions per contact. That is probably a bit off, but makes the math easier. So, 3000. I revised that number up because it “felt” low and that is my 5K solution. Do you really feel the weighting of the last 1/3? Of the contacts launches it that much higher? Or do you find my whole guesstimate logic chain unlinked?

I had presumed (incorrectly it seems) that you'd guestimated and stuck with that figure rather than rounding up. My methodology was to take your number and round up by 50% since I figured you may be underestimating. So... Ok we might be getting into a philosophical question of "What constitutes a mission?" but I think I want to take some time to figure that out a bit more fully before I commit anything to words on the internet, for fear of looking (even more) stupid 1 1 If going to space for 11 minutes makes you an astronaut, then I'm probably an expert gynaecologist.

Troo Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago It simply amazes me how much content players skip (intentionally or unintentionally) and then the complaints there isn't enough. 1 "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Scarlet Shocker Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago To be completely serious here for a moment (write it down, doesn't happen that often) it strikes me that it would be a very worthy project to catalogue all the missions, contacts, progression paths etc. It's not something I would do - that would drive me even more loopy than I already am - and there is already a great resource in Ouroboros which I suggest has the bones of 90% of the content. But the ability to pre-plan your journey - to find the content you find personally interesting/rewarding/enjoyable would be an invaluable resource. And, to reiterate, I'm not volunteering. 1 If going to space for 11 minutes makes you an astronaut, then I'm probably an expert gynaecologist.
Healix Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Troo, you are so right. I have been playing since 2004 and I still find things I have never seen before, or didn't know about. That, combined with the wonderful community, the fun and helpful GMs is why I can honestly say I have never been bored in all this time. 1 Forever grateful to be back in my city!
