kelika2 Posted Saturday at 11:08 PM Posted Saturday at 11:08 PM Maybe 10-15 seconds off. the base Stuff like Tide Pool, Sleet, Freezing rain do pretty much the same thing but shorter cooldowns 1
arcane Posted Sunday at 12:12 AM Posted Sunday at 12:12 AM I looked at the numbers and it appears that Tar Patch has a higher duration and the same uptime ratio as Freezing Rain and Sleet. And Tide Pool isn’t comparable at all. 3
Uun Posted Sunday at 04:00 PM Posted Sunday at 04:00 PM Here's a list of the AoE -res powers (Tide Pool is -dmg, not -res). Many of them summon a pseudo pet, with the debuff duration differing from the pet duration. Clearly, there are quite a few comparable powers that have a recharge similar to Tar Patch. As a practical matter, it doesn't take more than 1-2 recharge IOs and a modest amount of global recharge (excluding Hasten) to get Tar Patch's recharge under 40s. I've found this to be adequate in most circumstances. Would I object to reducing the recharge to 60s and the duration to 30s? No. The 45s duration is longer than necessary. Eff Dur Pet Dur Recharge Dispruption Arrow 1.25 45 30 Freezing Rain 30 15 60 Sleet 30 15 60 Slowed Response 30 NA 90 Tar Patch 0.5 45 90 Acid Mortar 20 60 90 Melt Armor 40 NA 100 2 Uuniverse
Troo Posted Sunday at 05:21 PM Posted Sunday at 05:21 PM Tar Patch is in a pretty good place right now. 1 "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum
tidge Posted Monday at 11:33 AM Posted Monday at 11:33 AM I agree with Senator @Troo Tar Patch has been crazy good for a long time, and nothing has changed for it. From my PoV, the only thing that has stolen some of the shine from Tar Patch is that since Homecoming allows either T1 or T2 to be taken at lvl 1, the power sets that wish they had something like Tar Patch at level 1 don't feel so bad any more. 1

No. The 45s duration is longer than necessary. when soloing on a Dark (like my current Dark Dark Corr doing every contact) it is important to play the long game. debuffs first, Fear, dropping a debuff toggle on a boss, tar patch, then you set up to start your attacks. it can be a long fight. 45 secs can come and go fast in those circumstances 3

I'm assuming that with a 60s base recharge and 30s duration, it would effectively be perma and you could recast if it expired before the spawn was defeated. 1 Uuniverse

I still hesitate to sign off on a duration reduction. I use this power daily, a LOT. I pull to it. To change it would benefit ROFLSTOMP steamroller teams, but would further relegate a /Dark Corruptor to Heal/Tar Patch duty. Yawn. I prefer solo play a lot and changing it as you suggest would be annoying at best and possibly counterproductive. 1 2

Darkneblade Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Currently with good global recharge you can cast it twice, effectively stacking anyway, i see no need for cooldown reduction.
