Design Notes:

These changes should make many control sets a lot more viable for controllers, especially Electric and Arsenal control.

Pet Controls will be huge for sets like Gravity Control.  The previous workaround was keybinds and macros to select Singularity, and TP it to your location (these had to be doubletapped to work).  Now we can just send him into the center of a group.  Additionally, the ability to simply put pets on Passive and stop them from going crazy will be a huge boon.  Lastly, Terrorize Containment is long overdue, and this will lead to an era of Mind and Illusion Controller dominance with AoE dmg sets that I feel like nobody is currently predicting.

Okay, actual serious feedback time now I've tried a little and thought on it.

Not sure if bug or WAI: I was running a sewer and had my Phantasm set to BG petcom_all follow defensive.  This resulted in him getting stuck behind walls and not reacting if I was attacked.  If I set him an attack order, however, he popped right out and started blasting.

+2/x8 isn't a problem as long as I can manage aggro, and even +4/x8 seems doable if I'm even more careful. My current builds are proc'd to high heaven, so I'm curious if there'd be an improvement or not if I switched back to more straight damage.  I'll have to put together an alternate build to find out.  EDIT: All the new Containment pop-ups had me giddy until I realized that there's only more chances for it to spawn, not that it has a greater chance to spawn and does more damage.

I see the command "STAY petcom_all stay passive" works for stopping the pet but the button (Heel) in the pet UI does not. The macro is all I needed but thought this was worth mentioning. Amazing change! A bit sad Dominators won't have this for dealing with TP'ing Singularity around, stopping sings movement makes it so much easier to work with.

just to clarify... with goto and stay, the pet will stay in place until the player is 500ft away, then it will teleport to the player. apparently this is how it always worked, but it was never really noticible before...

and, naturally MM bodyguard mode does not work with controllers, the pet will just follow on defensive. 🙂

I could be wrong but I'm reasonably sure the heel button on the UI intentionally does follow passive, not stay passive.

You're likely right, thanks. I haven't played MM so I'm likely not understanding the intention. Attack/follow/stay was my expectation but your explanation makes sense.

Were you moving through the sewers while flying/hovering?  I've noticed in the past if I use hover to move through the sewer doorways it causes phantasm to fly just high enough off the ground following me that he gets stuck in those open sewer doorways all the time.  Very annoying as hovering as an illusion controller is kind of a common choice.

Yep, that'd be it.  I was hovering.

i believe that "heel" come from the dog training commands, where they are literally supposed to follow at your heel.

Doms should be able to control their pets as well.

Controller started as heroes, and their pets are dogs - they see you as part of the pack, and will gladly help you. They just learned to follow new commands, just to please you!

Dominator started as villains, and their pets are cats - they will do whatever the heck they want, if that inconveniences you, deal with it, that's why you have a cat.

No points for guessing if I'm a cat or a dog person.

This is why I play controllers, my cats have enough control over my life as it is. 😄

Let Trollers do something better for once 😫

I mean, Controllers get to, like, already keep their pets out on live.

Not that I don't think the change makes a certain amount of sense, and suits Controllers more, and whatnot, but I gotta wonder why it feels like Dominator pets even exist sometimes.

My dark control dog is a cat now, I guess.

You know, I'd be happy if Dominators (only) got a Giant Black Cat power customization option. Maybe based on the ones in Night Ward?
