Display Name Posted Sunday at 02:25 AM Posted Sunday at 02:25 AM (edited) Can the End-draining critters be exempted from self-rez? I'm running a Sister Psyche right now and the Juicer Freak self-rez is 100%. I don't think that's fair at all because most of the toons on my team are lowbies. Same with Malta. Edit: In fact. Can we tone down the self-rez at lower levels? It's completely out of control. Triumphant Posted Sunday at 02:34 AM Posted Sunday at 02:34 AM What do you mean by lower levels? Or rather, what do "lower levels" mean to you (i.e. what level ranges are you thinking of?). 1
Psyonico Posted Sunday at 01:19 PM Posted Sunday at 01:19 PM The only significant freakshow end drainers are Super Stunners, whose rez is completely in player control (don't be in melee when they die). I'm against dumbing this game down more. 2 2 1 What this team needs is more Defenders
MTeague Posted Sunday at 01:51 PM Posted Sunday at 01:51 PM (edited) Super Stunners do a PBAE endurance drain. When one drops, or is just about to, RUN. Let ranged finish it off. If you're not in range, it will not drain you. EDIT: also, a number of powers can mitigate end drain. Fire Armor / Consume should be pre-emptively popped for end drain attacks. Electric Armor / Static Shield is really good against endurance drain. Energy Aura / Dampening Field gives endurance drain resistance Force Field / Insulation Shield gives endurance drain resistance. Electrical Affinity / Faraday Cage gives endurance drain resistance if you stand within it Electrical Affinity / Energizing Circuit can directly feed you more endurance. Kinetics / Speed Boost increases your recovery, and lets you GTFO from the PBAE faster. Empathy / Recovery Aura would be available to Defenders (and Corrupters if they're exemplared down) Storm Summoning / O2 Boost gives endurance drain resistance. Marine Affinity / Torodial Bubble gives endurance drain resistance, and +Recovery. Nature Affinity / Lifegiving Spores can feed you endurance. Radiation Emission / Accelerate Metabolism gives good +Recovery. and of course, all players can hang onto Blue inspirations. I really think adequate tools exist to handle it. To add to this, the Empowerment Station available for all SGs also grants endurance drain resistance for a single piece of common salvage for at least an hour. 2
Troo Posted Sunday at 06:35 PM Posted Sunday at 06:35 PM 15 hours ago, Display Name said: Can the End-draining critters be exempted from self-rez? You are not wrong. It's a clever way to split up a team from a design point. Someone gets toggle dropped while the rest of the team speeds forward leaving the endurance drained player to fend for themselves often against a orange or red target. Those least likely to be able to deal with it are the ones effected the most. An endgame build playing down barely notices. This aspect of the game is repeated in a variety of ways in many of the enemy groups. Phasing enemies, un-hit-able enemies, enemies casting vengeance, etc. Situational awareness. Know thy enemy. Have a plan. Have a backup plan. As @MTeague wrote, simple tactics and available tools can over come. 3 "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Riverdusk Posted Sunday at 07:14 PM Posted Sunday at 07:14 PM (edited) This is mostly a melee defense based armor set issue. Resistance armors tend to have endurance drain protection built in. If you are range you also avoid the issue. If you are defense based and melee the super stunner is auto hit and you tend to be in melee. That is just one of the 'holes' that particular powerset combo has to deal with, every powerset combo tends to have a few holes and it is actually good game design. Especially when there are ways to overcome those gaps, you just have to be strategic in doing so. Or team with a support set that helps plug them. Not sure what you are talking about with malta. You mean the sappers? Even easier as defense does prevent their drain attack (energy or ranged defense works). They are also minions so easy to mez. They were also already nerfed long ago in that no more than 1 can spawn per 'group'. A nerf to them that honestly I never liked to that extent (would like there to be at least a chance for two in larger groups). Edited Sunday at 07:16 PM by Riverdusk 2 2

Might as well throw in those pesky damage dealing critters too... What the majority of responses are getting at here is that you are having difficulty with an enemy tactic that was designed to be an obstacle, for which there are multiple solutions. That's... the game? 19 hours ago, Display Name said: It's completely out of control. Ask a controller for help! golstat2003 Posted Sunday at 11:37 PM Posted Sunday at 11:37 PM Yeah no. I'm fine with them NOT making the game even easier. As others have pointed out there are ways to deal with end drain.
