Agreed! I returned to Claws recently to finally play a Claw/Bio scrapper. Claws is just so good! I have an attuned ATO proc waiting for him at 50, and I'm excited to dial the crits up to 11.

With the Regen rework I might be slightly motivated to remake the original version of my namesake. I'll do a reroll of a Level 50 for another build first, but I liked my original Claws/regen even with Common IOs.

I went claws/regen. Haven't tried out regen since the last round of changes. I assume it's still the worst secondary but maybe tolerable again?

It's much better now.  I've been playing my regen characters much more now and while they're not amazing on the surface, they bounce back from everything.

It's not pre-i4 regen, but it's a good compromise.

Especially if you're into soloing lowbies? A damn near pauseless attack chain with nothing but slash, swipe, strike, swipe, repeat? And then you get spin? About to snag Integration. Still hate mez in this game. It's a death sentence.

Edit: No, I'm not. No mez prot until 16? Have I been away so long I forgot that?

It's especially annoying if you go the Officer Field's route where you are forced to fight a eidolon with a stun aura at level 4.

Just started a Claws/Stone scrapper named Staunch. During live, I took a bunch of ATs to 50, but only one Scrapper - a Broadsword/SR that just ATE everything and was the last pirate standing. I am finding myself even early in levels, though, just not enjoying the variability I find in running Trollers (my favorite class). Is it really just diving into a group and hoping to survive over and over? I know that's a simplification, but trying to find out how you all add more flavor to your singular focus.

Thank you, as always.

What's not to love? I have too many claws scrappers. I'm gonna go make another.

I'm working on a Claw Scrapper of every Secondary, and I only consider it a fun set (Kinetic Melee getting it's buffs now, is the set I like more tho).

The guy who provides a name for my online presence is - clap that hand to your mouth in shock now - a Claws/Regen Scrapper.  Black Talon was a tent-pole alt for me prior to Shutdown, and the first alt I made when starting up on Homecoming.  First of my boys to make it to 50, and also the first to indulge in experimenting with the IOs rather than just sticking it out with regular SOs, triple-layered to hit 53.

Yes, he's a complete Wolverine ripoff as far as power-sets go, but tried to provide enough variation in the looks and motivation that it could be called stealing rather than copying.  It is a truth that Focus is a total life-saver for him, as I imagine it is for the majority of those with this power-set; keep the bad guys off their feet and unable to score a hit until they're worn down, and admitting that the whole ranged-attack aspect to the power may be a bit ridiculous, I'll certainly stick with it until something better comes along.

While the defence-debuff is certainly appreciated and very helpful, it doesn't provide an ongoing route to inflict DPS like Stuns or the like do - Focus is indispensable when it comes to serious Boss scraps or even taking on high-output LTs like Bane Spider Scouts.  Nonetheless, a savagely enjoyable Scrapper primary set and one I'm going to stick with for the foreseeable future.

Kinetic Melee is getting buffs?!

Edit: Just looked it up. Excited to see some changes coming to it as well as some of the other sets!

Speaking of claws, just in case anyone wanted to know, the magic recharge number is 313.

If you can get that, you can run a flawless followup, focus, slash, repeat attack chain.

I don't have that unless I have the Time Lord buff AND I hit the empowerment station for the Increased Attack Rate buff.

As it stands without those, I have a .2 second delay after slash before followup fires off.

My claws/rad is probably .2 sec away.  Likely no gap if more than one enemy around.

My claws/sr does follow up, swipe, slash, swipe.  He doesn't have focus or shockwave for thematic reasons.  Why do claws shoot stuff????  I'm sure he could easily get to that recharge number.  He is way over soft cap though and has a ton of accuracy/+to hit.  Which does come in handy on the new difficulty settings.  I may respec him soon though.

Two reasons I can think of:

1: Every melee set comes with a ranged attack. Physics be damned.

2: I seem to recall and old video game, maybe marvel vs capcom or something of the sort, fighting game like mortal combat, Wolvie had ranged attacks in that as well.

What is the typical dmg rotation for claws?

For my scrapper, it's followup, focus, slash, repeat for single target damage and followup, spin, shockwave, repeat for AoE. Takes a ton of recharge to get there, though. Followup, focus, slash, strike, repeat is easier to deal with.
