But it reminded me that back on live RAD/KINs used to be a thing. They seem to have gone the way of fire/kin controllers only more so as at least you see one of those every so often on Homecoming. Are Rad/Kins no longer viable? So the advantage of rad/kin is that they get another pbaoe instead of rain of fire and that they can slot the achilles -res proc in their powers. I still think that fire/kin will be superior to ice/kin or rad/kin because having all your damage frontloaded beats out blizzard's better damage over time and the fire dots beat rads extra pbaoe and -res proc. That being said, rad/kin is absolutely viable. Darkir
This is the previous iteration of the build. I made a new one and updated the original post. I found that with the new sets added in march we have some other great options. You know how when you go up against a different damage type and their ranged attacks hit you, making you need to use heal (gross)? Well now we can fix all that. Darkir
Newest version of the build is in the original post. I think it is much much better because now you no longer fear any damage type and you still have mez protection before incarnates.
ThatsFatal
I just made a Fire/Kin to level with some friends who are also playing Corruptors. How will this perform while leveling and is there any new updates than can be applied to the original or is it still pretty current?

So this will absolutely work well as a leveling build, but you will want to take siphon power as you are leveling up and then replace it at lvl 38 when you get fulcrum shift. You won't be very tanky until you get rune of protection and scorpion shield, but once you do it will work very well.
Glowman
@Darkir what would you swap siphon power in for until 38? Or would you just add it early and then grab everything else 1 power selection late?

Glowman
Thanks! Also, what does your attack attack chain look like? I think I may be over prioritizing some of the kin powers.

I think I may be over prioritizing some of the kin powers. I keep two stacks of siphon speed up, I keep myself at +300% dmg with fulcrum shift (it's mostly capped at 400%), I prioritize blaze and blazing bolt on ST and throw in fireballs when they are on CD, fireball+RoF+inferno for AoE and use the ST attacks against bosses and runners. Mostly I just try to kill all the things as quickly as possible. St chain: blaze>blazing bolt>fireball or blaze>blazing bolt>flares AoE: fireball>RoF>inferno>fireball or something like that, maybe throw in some at attacks on an EB or boss

Stromaeyl
Similar to my final build (leveling build is a bit different :) ). I did not take inertial reduction (cuz you know flight packs), but added assault--a lil moar damage never hurts--and moved the xtra slot to health for a Numina's +rec +regen. The fire/kin is more powerful but just want to be different. Against anything but machines/robots, psychic hits like a ton of bricks. Wanted to up the damage with FS. Increase Density is for those times when you jump in the middle of a pack and just wanna Psychic Wail/FS/"arrest". Thank you very much for taking the time to add a sample build. Much appreciated. Increased density is a team buff and does not apply to you, so what do you mean by this?
Stromaeyl
I don't solo. I always play on a team. Applied to tank/brute and follow once they get the aggro.
rshacklef0rd
Just wondering why you would slot 5 red fortunes in weave, you need 6 to get the ranged defense bonus. just slotting 5 doesn't seem worth it.

That slotting gets you 12.5% global recharge for 6 slots. Basically just maximizing the recharge you get out of the build, if you want to change it to 2-3 +5 lotgs to utilize those slots elsewhere go for it. Just make sure you maintain the softcap and don't give up too much recharge when playing with the build.

beradical
I'm running a Rad/Kin, closing in on level 50, and using Darkfir's build in this thread as my starting point. I mostly pair with brother's Sav/Shield Brute (duo or team), and we both prioritize AoEs, clumping and nuking mobs, before switching to STs with Scourge to finish B, EBs, AVs, etc. So far it's a crazy fun character, has incredible dmg output and buffs/debuffs, but very busy and clicky, and I need help finishing the build. I'd appreciate any advice you all could share 😃 Here is what doesn't make sense: (1) I don't understand Repel. Other than solo, when wouldn't a team be upset that someone is flinging foes all over. Clumping is generally preferred, no? (2) Is Vengeance that useful? Seems rarely valuable, would something else more consistently valuable be better? (3) I see Mace Mastery a lot of Kin builds. Is that because it's the only Def toggle (not Res)? And I should prioritize soft capping my Def, right? (4) Is Siphon Power + Fulcrum Shift redundant, or helpful? Seems like 50/50, half take both and half say don't bother. Personally, it's a super clicky build, so less powers the better... (5) Is Rune of Protection something you would drop on auto, firing it when its up for routine Res, or just use for Boss fights, etc? (6) No one seems to take Aim on any of the X/Kin sets. Why not? Coming from a Stalker, Aim/BU is the shit. Does it not bring the same value to a Corruptor, especially since our big dmg via Scourge comes at the closing attacks, not the opening attacks? Or is it because Tactics already adds ToHit? (7) Does Stealth add value for the speed runs? Right now I use Super Speed which helps a bit, I just read someone recommended putting a Stealth IO in Sprint, so both on adds enough. Is that helpful or unnecessary for not dying running around speed TFs? (8) Right now my single biggest weakness is Mez protection. I'm popping BFs like Skittles these days. Which powers are helping to mitigate this?
