  1. Well, whatever we do, we must continue to overthink it! 😀
  2. This is the biggest reason I've never created a single Bio Armor or Stone Armor character. I do have an Ice Armor, but that's got better Minimal Fx options and even the solid ice blocks of original are still translucent.
  3. Which is why I said "on Goldside specfically". Goldside teams do happen, but they're rare. I go into it assuming I will probably end up soloing the entire 1-20.
  4. Sonic Blast/Sonic Resonance corruptor, on Goldside specifically, had me rethinking all of my life choices until I deleted the character. Secondary was entirely pointless and little-to-no mitigation in primary. Only that cone knockback. That was when I decided never to roll a Sonic Resonance who wasn't an MM.
  5. low priority, but hopefully easy to implement. esp if the text wouldn't even need to say exactly how many, just "requires half, rounded down, for each lvl range". I would like to see this added.
  6. I've never gotten a Beam Rifle character past lvl 8 before I say "meh" and delete them. Not everything is everyone's cup of tea, and BR is not mine. But if it was just the left-to-right arc that was disappointing, maybe we could get a right-to-left alternate animation...? Ok, I'll show myself out....
  7. To be fair, MCU Iron Man's suits get wrecked when he's facetanking Thanos, the Hulk, going mano-e-mano with Thor, Ultron, or the bio-incinerating explody guys in Iron Man 3. Clint or Natasha would have been torn to shreds if they were in any of those fights. I'm still saying Sentinel. Now, if anyone wants to do a blaster anyway, hey, knock yourself out. Your account, your characters, your choices. But Iron Man was hardly any kind of squishy.
  8. I personally stray away from discussions of anyone in office or running for office. NOT because I lack an opinion. I could babble into a keyboard for 9 pages if left unchecked. But ultimately, I am aware that arguments on politics, especially in an online chat forum, never changes anyone's opinion at all. So really, what's the point? just causes stress for other people who are trying to find an escape in the game. And I don't set out to cause people stress. Usually. consumes time that I could have spent accomplishing my goals in the game or just having fun, in a shouting match of "the other side sucks! the other side sucks!". So it's not even just what's the point, it actively prevents me from doing something else I want to do. Can I say that I've never been baited into the arguments? No. But it's never changed a single thing, and only wasted my evening, each time. So now, if i see General Chat devolving into discussions I dislike, I change chat tabs. Just to keep my eyes away from it. Prevent me from even seeing it. Is that the right solution for everyone, probably not, but it works for me. Your milage may vary, see dealer for details.
  9. For Scrappers, I prefer Super Reflexes. It takes a bit longer to get off the ground, but it keeps the defense when it matters most. Add in a Panacea Proc and a Power Transfer Heal Proc, and your maintenance heals vs the occasional lucky shot, are covered without needing to dip into Medicine. For Stalkers, I much prefer Ninjitsu. Because Caltrops is amazing at stopping all incoming melee damage cold while I slice-n-dice. Scrappers can eventually get Caltrops in an epic pool, but Stalkers get it as just part of the Ninjitsu kit, along with the rest.
  10. Deep Sleep is handy vs them, if its available to your Doms.
  11. Blast Masters, of the Praetorian <Destroyers> faction, in the 1-20 arcs. Those frackin molotov's are So Annoying.\ They're usually not even that dangerous, but I always priority kill them anyway.
  12. Tech Origin Sentinel. Energy Blast / Invulnerability. Mostly Tech Bot armor, appropriate color Jewel chest detail, white Full Helm Banded Gloves Rocket Boots For some reason I can't post images, I keep getting "problem opening the file". But it comes out really close. Just have a second costume as backup, because is Gonna get generic'd.
  13. a) that's not proof of what is discussed in this thread. That's proof that other people were wrong about other stuff in the past. b) I never said it can't be done ever, I said in 15 years time? I don't think so. c) I acknowledged I could be wrong, and said feel free to solo develop it with AI assistence in that amount of time.
  14. My very honest opinion, is you've been fed too much Star Trek / Matrix / Hollywood / TV versions of AI. But by all means, prove me wrong. Dig deep into programming and AI, and produce it once you feel AI is up to snuff.
  15. Given magic wands and infinite dev teams that work together flawlessly, such a thing is in theory possible. And done right, it could be amazing. In the real world, not even a snowball's chance in hell. NCSoft allowed Homecoming use of the City of Heroes license in part because they had no interest, corporately, in picking up development themselves. But NCSoft still owns the IP/franchise. No CoH2 could happen without NCSoft being involved and they're.... not interested. If NCSoft did become convinced it was worth doing and there was huge money to be made, the first thing they would probably do is shut down Homecoming, and the player hate against NCSoft for a Second Snap, would be strong enough to shatter entire galaxies. It would become a matter of principle for a lot of us that we'd choke on it before NCSoft saw a penny from us (and I rather strongly suspect that's already the case for several...) But OK, say for the sake of the argument, that NCSoft was not involved. Some other gaming studio, filled with only well meaning people, with no legal ties to NCSoft, took up the challenge, made their own game, from scratch. It would take them years to produce. Might it's draw be big enough to convince everyone to move over? Possibly. But I suspect whatever they produced would be casual-unfriendly, or filled with microtransactions, either one of which would make it dead to me.
  16. Yep. Although MA gets good +Def vs All in Storm KIck (for some AT's at least). Most "parry" attacks are melee defense only.
  17. The suggestion is definitely not new. If the devs act on it, it would be very well received. I ... am not holding my breath.
  18. I don't think Any armor set should have no holes whatsoever. Even Super Reflexes gets a nasty surprise when it's hit with non-positional attacks. Adding Toxic Resist, AND End Resist, AND Regen Debuff Resist, is much too much of an ask in my book. The devs of course, are entirely free to ignore my feedback and decide they agree with you. But that is my $0.02, take it for what it is, flame it if you wish.
  19. Maybe not Lusca then, but like a Giant Monster version of Sally. Name it Lochie, or something.
  20. I'd be happy with almost Any new MM primary. Primal Guardians, Elementals, Police, Divine Host, Dinosaurs, Duplicates, etc. Anything. I'd also be content with no new MM primaries, but some reskin options for the existing ones. To have Family style mafia guys instead of Thugs, or Malta-ish special forces instead of Soldiers, Knives of Artimis style minions instead of Ninjas, etc. I get that new MM primaries require a TON of work compared to any other primary. And I get it's all volunteer, and they're going to work on only ideas that strike their fancy. That's entirely fair. I may have to be content and wait a year or more. But there is definitely pent up desire for different kinds of henchmen.
  21. They're never going to let us use Force Fields to crush enemies into chunky salsa. The sads.
  22. Essentially a Mastermind, but with primary and secondaries flipped? I'm not sure I see the point. From lvl 30 onward, you would have access to all of the same powers, AND, your summoned pets would be a fair bit weaker, since the pets would be your secondary tree. That would be a necessary trade-off in order to have Defender level buffs/debuffs from your primary.
  23. If a %proc boards a northbound train leaving Pittsburg at 11:00 am, travelling at 95 mph, and another %proc boards a southbound train leaving Washington DC at 11:00 am, travelling at 80 mph, how long does it take you to realize this is a trick question? 😀 I agree with the main point, though. To the extent that factors in procs can be made more human-readable, they should be. This might require some kind of "pseudopet" tag on the power's detailed information page, so people don't have to guess which is and which ain't. This might require some field for "on-cast proc activation rate", and another for "ongoing proc activation rate", for things like rains or other non-instant powers. This might require a note about accuracy rolls used for procs for the given power. There may still probably be a point where the existing %proc formula can't be fully explained well in text. I mean, basic parabola equations are good for artillery in most conditions, but said equation cannot factor in the effects of a category 4 hurricane happening during a powerful earthquake. Newtonian physics is good for a lot, but when you want to do plot the right course for a spacecraft to travel to alpha centauri, it stops being good enough. Whether that means the formula itself ought to be simplified, is a fair question.
  24. As it turns out, my Widow is at lvl 10 exactly. My current build is: items of note: this is a sugar-daddied alt. I have one +3% global defense proc in Indomitable Will, and I have a Panacea proc in health. I would not have these on a bootstrap-yerself alt. I did not take Combat Training: Offensive. Maybe I will later. But early game, a single Acc SO in my powers means I very rarely miss. Taking both defensive powers gives me decent defense in melee. Pop a single Luck inspiration and she becomes Quite durable. Although the passive heals from the Panacea proc help considerably, too. playstyle, at this level I treat the widow like a baby Claws/SR scrapper with mild range in dart burst. I pull mobs with dart burst, and run around corners to force things into melee range, because I *want* them to use their melee attacks. It's my best defense. Also, 3 of 4 of my attacks, are melee attacks, soo... yea, they better be in melee range!! After every mission I fill my inspiration tray with Lucks. Currently I run her at +0x2. Worked well when soloing Mr. Bocor's missions, and the Atlas Park mayhem.
  25. My solution, and I would be publicly crucified for this, would be to make every proc a Unique. No more than one copy of it per character, period. That said, there's a reason I'm not a dev, and a reason I have never run a game company. I would drive away all my customers demanding they play my way.
