  1. A bit different from the ferry service between Talos & PI, but there is a sub that goes between Port Oakes, IP, Sharkhead, Striga, PI, Kallisti Wharf, Grandville, Moster Island, and The Abyss
  2. Yep. I was talking specifically the PC game that was being worked on, and the character creator that came out of it. I used to have every supplement, etc... for Hero thru the end of 4th edition. (Decent number of later supplements, just didn't go full complete...) I hung out with the Hero Software folk who had introduced me to Champions in 1981. There was the first printing of the BBB (which had some binding issues from what I recall), a second one that held together, and a bit later came the one with the Hero Maker software. That was the Deluxe version that came out a little later. My memory is spotty, but the SW at the internet archive says 1993.
  3. Totally different code base. The newer one does both 5th edition & 6th edition and is portable over many platforms. The old one, Hero Maker, you can run via dosbox and other emulators.
  4. On a tangent, I had forgotten that Project Phoenix from Chimara and Phoenix Program during vietnam existed.
  5. The Original Champions PC game was late 80s and the floppy disk with the character creator that came with an edition of the BBB (Perez cover) It's the only software that came out of it. The game itself you can find listed as vapor ware. Development was Hero Games (though I think it was a separate entity and most of the people doing development were ones I knew in college) Host of reasons it didn't happen. PPUE is Paragons & Protectors, Ultimate Edition. It's a good TTRPG
  6. Are you running his missions at +4/x8? The Mu'Vork fight with him can be a bit tricky with that ambush, etc... Some of my chars can solo that level, others have to do it at base. (And mostly the ones that can do the max, went thru that arc ages ago since they're maybe level shifted once by then)

Knowing the people who were coding the original Champions PC Game, yes, very complex and at least we got a character creator out of it... iirc, you can get the source code for the newer Hero Designer, I think that's all java. But yea, no intersection between Champions MMO and the Hero Rule set. 6th edition didn't have any rules based on the mmo, etc... Just lore stuff went back and forth. (Of course, the last I had a hell of a lot of contact with Hero system people was before a bunch of the involved people moved over to more PPUE stuff.)
  8. Not sure, my guess is a graphics driver is having issues with what CoH is trying to do. Operating System, Graphics Card, and a few other variables would need to be known for proper diagnosis. I think the diagnostics client may help point to what is going on and maybe there's a setting that will at least avoid the issue once known:
  9. Jack just took the IP of the Champions Universe, nothing about the rules were involved with Champions Online. (Not that I didn't have some issues there since I was a Champions player from 1st edition)

He made a lot of proclamations that seemed "You must play the game the way I envision it" That and an interview where he said how much he enjoyed those platform games that if you were a pixel off, you'd fail and you'd have to start over. That being said, I met him in RL at GenCon while they were launching the Champions MMO. Nice guy to talk to.
  11. I'm of two minds on necro. If it's still relevant, then no problem. Bio limit hasn't been increased, but there's discussion in that thread about it. Bringing up a thread that states an issue that has either been resolved or changed, then stake that one in the heart.
  12. If day job powers can be customized and several of the TP powers are P2W, so it could be done unless there's some baked in code pasta. Just depends if the devs have time and want to look at that section.
  13. I mean the last chapter came out the year sunset happened, so there was probably more "planned". Pandora's arc's last mission didn't get to live. Wade still being in Sharkhead is probably the snapshot of what your character would see while leveling past. It's all part of the oddness of "every character is the main in their own story" thing. Just a bit messy.

  18. Thumbs up to DreamWeave for putting both measuring systems in the recipe. (Though they didn't use the banana scale...) And the letting the result be done before time reminds me of my wife's rum balls. She makes them in June for our cat shelter's fundraiser in November. (shameless plug, Nov 11 at Tabor Space in Portland, OR.)

Back when the Insta TP to a base was modified and we got Long Range Teleport plus Base Portals elsewhere, etc... iirc, the Wentworth and other Auction house TP powers would no longer accumulate. If you still had charges, they could be used. There's a reason that happened that was not "punish the players". Something to do with messy code issue/behaviour I think.

My current grouping: Blaster 15 Brute 15 Controller 7 Corruptor 5 Defender 4 Dominator 3 Mastermind 4 Peacebringer 1 Scrapper 11 Sentinel 11 Soldier 1 Stalker 3 Tanker 15 Warshade 1 Widow 1 Trying to limit myself to 100 though may drop that number again since there are a bunch that don't get played. I do try out all the various power sets, but once I hit 50 I tend to then re-evaluate if they're going to continue. I like leveling Stalkers, but only a few continue past there.
  22. Could always turn off the motel doors for next year and see how that works.
  23. I play scrappers enough and every so often there's a runner. The one mob that seems to run the most seems to be council doggos. They run from my tanks as well. If I get several "runners" it's usually because I hit my aggro limit.
