  1. That's not a problem with the location. If you thumbtack the location, it does put it at the right spot on the map. Not sure why the waypoint goes elsewhere. testing it out, if I back away from the plaque a little, the waypoint at least gets you to the right area /thumbtack -3102 207 -1546 I'll add a note to the wiki about it
  2. No current way. I'm not even sure there's a method for the devs to be able to do it easily.
  3. As mentioned, the tutorial. The Avid Reader Badge that you get via the Praetorian tutorial can also be gotten in Ouro from Prometheus after completing an incarnate trial. Doing the Praetorian Mission arcs via Ouro crystal doesn't give you the option of being undercover. Praetorians can't visit any of the Primal zones until they switch. However, they can do Primal missions that don't need to go to Primal areas. Instanced task forces such as Cathedral of Pain, incarnate trials, etc... are doable. You can sometimes get a train mission to work for you if you use Team Transport. And note that Praetorians can get to Pocket D, Echo Plaza, and the Winter Village. Plus the couple zones still available from Null the Gull.
  4. This is the crux really. And just because someone has been in IT for X amount of years, doesn't mean they are a lawyer...
  5. Just because you have the source code, doesn't mean you can say it's Open Source and voila, it's open source. The original owner still has that decision. It's a bit more complicated with code added onto a closed project and that is probably somewhere in the discussion with the legal stuff. There's a bunch of other stuff, but even when a company is willing to release something legally into Open Source, there's a few extra steps.
  6. My first 50 gradually built up funds and sets while being able to fund alts. Though I was a return veteran, so not so big a deal. I think it's not so much that someone gets to 50 without knowing how to play, but not taking the time to learn to play. You can do that at any level, you just have to actually learn
  7. I'm semi-tempted to run a bunch of my characters thru Heggenberger (sp) to the the last mission. Then run that last mission as fast as I can for a dozen characters. I can do that on both the E servers...
  8. I have a bunch of stuff going on during the late morning early afternoon tomorrow (PST), but can be available after that
  9. Greycat gets it.
  10. I decided to move a couple characters around myself. No real categories. I do most of my playing on Everlasting, but most of my alts are on Excelsior still. Figure I'll transfer a couple each to Indom & Torch, since those are the only two I wasn't on yet. (Had a short lived group start up on Reunion and the character there is a bit lonely now)
  11. HC is great. EA sucks. Used to be a cool place to work, but all my friends that worked there in the 90s are elsewhere now.
  12. Did they ask you about the TPS reports? That's one clue
  13. Ack! Corporate Flashback! I had written a framework of perl code that did a major amount of testing of a key product. I wound up moving to other projects and my old task was taken over by a few others. Two years later, I wound back on the old project and noticed that they hadn't changed my code at all. Apparently the lead was terrified of breaking it and it hadn't been updated for a lot of logging that the tested products were putting out, so let's just say it was a bit of a shock. The code wasn't great due to my previous inexperience, and in the first month I fixed a lot of stuff that I knew better methods and took advantage of better hardware. Cut a process that used to take ~18 hours to a six hour run was a nice bonus. Left the company and about two years later was contacted by a recruiter (I think he only scanned the buzzwords) to see if I wanted sign up as an intern for the same company. Why of course I'd love to work for free when the same job used to be six figures...
  14. Huh. I did start running my launcher via that command when I was having some issues with lutris on a different computer. I think my issue was sound at the time.
  15. Honestly, you don't have to be that savvy for the Linux install either. Though as someone who has been a Unix user since the early 80s, maybe I'm not the best judge of that. 😉 I just know it's a lot easier to get stuff running now than even ten years ago
  16. Heck, get a character PL'd to 50 that can generate inf for your character that is working their way up the levels more organically is a viable tactic. (Though there are some pretty sweet ways to leverage your lower level recipe drops for more inf)
  17. Another way is to switch to another team on a league. (Assuming no one on the new team has attacked, etc..., but you can get put on a solo team)
  18. You know what would make Regen a very popular power pick: If they get defeated, it doesn't count in the TF totals or invalidate a "Master of" with a no defeat clause.
  19. Wonder if we could have RWZ2 spawn under more conditions than full. It really was only annoying last night because when we exited the TinPex missions, teams were split automatically between 1 & 2. I suspect the first few people exited to RWZ1 and filled the zone, so others popped out in RWZ2. Maybe and this might be not technically feasible, but if the zone has 40 characters and if a new person is exiting a mission into RWZ, it puts them into RWZ2, or at least gives the option. (I'm thinking of some edge cases already, but this is really just a starting thought)
  20. It downloaded fine for me. You might want to check your browser settings, you may need to right click and Save Link as instead of just clicking on it for autodownload
  21. I usually run via "wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Games/Homecoming/bin/win64/launcher.exe > ~/down/hclaunch.log 2> ~/down/hclaunch.err &" and if you run the diag client, even more info gets dumped into those log files. (I found several popmenu errors using this method) Definitely sounds like a graphics driver issue.
  22. I've gotten very lucky and gotten the Ectosome a couple times, but I'm happy to see them becoming a bit more available.
  23. One of my favorite tanks is a Bio/Fire. She needs a respec since I built her when I had no clue, but she's still one of the most durable, and a lot of fun.
  24. And so's my wife!
  25. Are you trying to summon Greycat? In anycase, those coordinates are as advertised and are the Living Dark Badge. If those coords don't show in a room, then you have an outdated map. As ATC mentioned, there was an updated version in 2021 which is accurate.
