  1. Resistances seem a bit low for a Brute. But if it works for you....
  2. With fairly minimal Global Recharge, my Radiation Armor/Street Justice Tanker has Spinning Strike with Recharge at 6.7s. With the Force Feedback proc in effect, that drops to 4.72s. So when he uses it and it procs, the proc duration is sufficient to see the power recharge within it. Combined with FF procs in Heavy Blow and Energy Torrent, the boost to FF boost to Recharge is up often. In fact, keeping that boost up and cycling Spining Strike was a goal (though he is also relying on +Recharge from Radiation Armor): You have to do what you think is right and will make you happy, but my gut is you are sacrificing offense for gain in protection which is pretty minimal by comparison, particularly when I consider the performance of Regen on my Regen/Fire Melee Tanker. Yeah, it is a Tanker and more work would be required to get Resistance up as far as I have on my Tanker on a Brute. At the very least, I would visit the test server and try out building both ways.
  3. I get giddy seeing Disintegrate. It is all I really need.
  4. It was more than a couple back before Proliferation Madness. And to this day, you do not get to play Titan Weapon Stalkers, Ninjitsu Brutes, or Super Strength Scrappers.
  5. I think we've reached, "This isn't right...It's not even wrong" territory.
  6. Keep in mind the use of Epic powers and extreme optimization.
  7. Energy Melee is not new, it got a reworking, just like every control set with a sleep got a reworking. As for fixing weak stuff, part of the problem is a lot of time someone will complain if any change is made. Loudly, repeatedly, as if their toenails were being pulled off.
  8. Not sure I would call Storm Blast strong. Kinetic Melee is one of the newer combat sets and...well...nobody but nobody calls it strong. Radiation Melee is far from godly. Meanwhile Super Reflexes is an original set and considered top tier.

    Ninjas

Now I am wondering how Ninja/Marine would be. Darn it!
  10. I have it on a Tanker (because if they were going to port it, I might as well). EA has always been one of my favorite sets. But I believe SR fans knock it too. 😁
  11. Well I did say it was skippable. I would honestly have to look to see which of my characters with Nin who took it or took it as something other than a place to get set bonuses from. Checking my WM/Nin Scrapper, I am going to guess his slotting was driven by desire for Recharge bonus with a side of To-Hit debuff. Edit: I think given the other tools Nin has, getting the power to be more reliable/stronger would be a tall order.
  12. It certainly contextualizes its potential uses. Defense cap being defense cap no matter what armor set you are using, if Blinding Powder worked on bosses, on top of Nin providing a heal and endurance recovery, how would it not be hands down superior to SR? DDR? Much less of an issue when everything short of EVs, AVs, and GMs can be confused. Arguably that would be overpowered. Leaving Bosses on the table is a more balanced consideration. Nin is a layered set, as opposed to SR's, "It does one thing" approach. It is fine to prefer one to the other, certainly. But a lot of, "I don't like Nin" seems to revolve around one aspect of its layers and saying, "It's weaker than the same aspect on another set". But people don't do that near so much when considering Bio, Invulnerability, Rad Armor (or presumably the new Psi Armor). The equivalent would be people saying of SR, "But it doesn't give you crits when come out of stealth (for that matter it doesn't have stealth)."
  13. Should also note that Brute Claws also costs more endurance. Edit: And it is not just Brute, it is Tankers as well--slower recharge, more endurance cost.
  14. I've got a Water/Kinetics Corruptor. She was a lot of fun to play up.
  15. I tanked Recluse with Regen on my Tanker this morning, so it is solid enough. Just make sure to raise your resistances and maximize healing. I am on my second Psi Armor Brute and Psi Armor is a solid choice for armor set.
  16. People always leave out Ninjitsu's confuse power. Confused mobs are not spending their entire time attacking you, so it is a defense (of a limited, active sort). Skippable? Certainly, but it does exist.
  17. You're just a few levels behind mind (spent a chunk of this week helping a friend out who plays on a different server than the Brute is on). Endurance for mine is not at the level of being an issue...more, something to keep an eye on, but you definitely want to make use of Consume Psyche periodically. On top of slotting Miracle and/or Numina, depending on your choice of epic powerset, you could get more Recovery from either Energy or Psionic Mastery. I am likely going Psionic Mastery anyway for theme reasons. As such, I have not slotted for Endurance in Consume Psyche (though slipping a Performance Shifter +End proc in is an option) but rather Healing to boost regeneration. I stuck a Recharge Reduction and a Healing enhancement in Psychokinetic Barrier for now. Having it cycle faster for a decent amount of shielding is a real plus. On just generic IOs/SOs, you are limited in how far you can push your resistances, but once you start slotting sets, pushing up resistance will be a major plus in and of itself but also to making the barrier more durable. Once I get a final build planned out, I will likely respec mine and start toward that build.
  18. Buy Steadfast Protection and Gladiator +3% Def ASAP. With generic Def IOs and Weave you can be towards 40% defense, which is pretty solid during the levelling process.
  19. People wondered why I was not a fan of proliferating every melee offense and defense set. Part of what once was unique to Brutes were their powerset options. I asked for something to be given to Brutes which was all theirs and that was met with assurances that all was fine and nothing needed to be changed (you still see that attitude in this thread). Oh well, bring on Ninjitsu for Brutes. If it's all about there being some (horribly uneven) gradient between the melee ATs, then no reason for Brutes not to have Ninjitsu (which has been given to Blasters and Sentinels). And we can pass along Super Strength to Scrappers and Stalkers and Titan Weapons to Stalkers, no matter how silly that is.
  20. I have levelled up a few widows, and my memory is not of being deliriously happy with their damage output at lower levels. No so much of a problem if you go the double xp, DFB, Posi 1, Posi 2 route as that gets you to 20+ pretty quickly and to the doorstep of slotting generic IOs. But solo...more painful and involved.
  21. Really comes down to how big a chunk of health you are losing at one time. The smaller the chunks, the more it does for you. Of course you should also grab the Scaling Resist from Reactive Defenses too. Someone at one point tossed out a line about how horrible it would be to be an SR Tanker, so I made one, and to double down on being a "weak Tanker" I went Titan Weapon. Worked decently enough.
  22. Scrappers have a 10% base with a 2ppm +50% for 3.25%, so 53.5 sec at 10% and 6.5s at 60%--average 15.42% over time, though of course a sensible scrapper will have arranged things for big hits to get the benefit of the +50% proc. Stalkers will have 10% base chance + 21% (on a full team) for 31%, all the time, along with focus pushing crits and critical strike from hide. Question is Scrapper AoE capability versus Placate/Assassin Strike when team sizes get down to 2 to 4 members. Also have to factor in the ability to hide is a definite survivability gain.
  23. Perhaps, but (a) are they better at single target than Scrappers and (b) how do they compare to Brutes and Tankers?
  24. Not sure one should discount: ATO which puts you into hide, proc'ing at 5 times per minute Having Placate in every offensive set Gaining 3% chance to crit per party member on top of the base 10% chance A focus mechanic which builds to a guaranteed critical strike Crit hitting from hide Or...if these things are not meaningful to Stalkers, you won't mind Brutes getting them.
  25. Does /loc say how to get to me? What barriers are in the way? What path to take? "Here" making people look at the map (or hit click my name and hit [F]) gives them more to go on.
