  1. If it is fair for you not to bothered by it, it is fair for the OP to be bothered by it, especially in light of them not having any fun with their powers. The only question is what to do about it. I was on a team with my Water/Kinetics Corruptor and repeatedly, just before Fulcrum Shift would animate on a large spawn some person in the group would blow the spawn apart, meaning Fulcrum Shift delivered far less than it could have. I was on another team with a Blaster and the person with Gravity kept opening up with Dimension Shift. When I noted that meant I could do nothing to them they said all I had to do was get close. Me...a blaster...get close. In both cases I simply thanked the group for the invites and moved on. No muss, no fuss. I was free to think poorly of the people doing such things and they were free from my thoughts about their thoughtlessness.
  2. Seems to be an excessively uncharitable reading of the OP.
  3. But that has nothing to do with when Parasitic Aura comes available. You're spending slots you get after level 38 on powers you got before those levels and Parasitic Aura is one of those powers. And to be sure, I do not have a problem with you doing whatever is appropriate for your build. It just seemed strange to lay not slotting Parasitic Aura on when it came available to you. Had it come at level 10 you would not have any more or less opportunity to 6-slot it was my point. If you consider things before level 38 most of the content, that's fine. Its subjective in my book. Sure, there is a stupid ton of content out there available before level 38 (or 39 when you'd be able to really slot Parasitic Aura with Mocking Beratement) but I have only heard of a very few number of people who try to play every story arc. Most people just level and adapt to the content fitting for their level. I will note it take 5,648,749 xp to reach level 38 and 39,149,119 xp to reach level 50. If we ignore veteran levels at level 38 you've only gained roughly 15% of the experience you'd need to reach level 50. But that is somewhat disingenuous since at higher levels you earn more xp. Still, given I do see people running around with multiple hundreds of veteran levels there is a valid argument that you're far from mostly done with content at that point even accounting for exemplaring down. But two things: I did not suggest taking Mocking Beratement or the T9 for taunt purposes. I noted that it would taunt but the purpose was (for me) the defenses. I noted that it taunting was of minimal consequence because in the situation where you're using a T9 you have something beating on you (otherwise you would not be using the power, you'd be resting). If you want to taunt things, your primary set gives you that ability (probably in your teens). As you note, you don't take it and outside my Tankers I don't tent to take it either. The thing which might be offputting for a Bio Stalker taking Mocking Beratement in the same fashion I did on my Brute is that a Stalker is not a Brute and not generally expected to be quite so survivable (not that they cannot be crazy survivable--just the expectation is Brutes will do survivability better given higher resistance caps). In any event, good conversation and good luck!
  4. Skunks spray musk and octopuses spray ink, both of which are quite visible. Trees ooze sap visibly. Nature is full of visible effects.
  5. 38 is too late? Any power before your last can get 6 slots. FWIW, on my SS/Bio Brute I stuck 5 slots worth of Mocking Beratement in Parasitic Aura because of the 4 and 5 piece defense bonuses. Yeah, you'll draw aggro. At the point where you're popping a T9 you probably already have it anyway, so no loss there.
  6. I wanted something like this but a lot less involved. Give each power an origin related animation or at the very least give all the pool powers one. It is annoying that my magical origin Mastermind pulls out a tricorder to heal her pets.
  7. There is a reason I made my Grav/EB dominator...and on top of KB he has Dimension Shift.
  8. Not that Marvel Thor isn't cool (been a Thor fan since the late 70s) but there are other gods of thunder out there to draw inspiration from. While I have no intention to start another character at the moment (got a plate full I am trying to work on currently), I did put together costume and power customization for one drawn from other mythology. Now to avoid making and playing him.
  9. I had such hopes for DM/Rad when I started. Somewhere in the 30s I started to feel a bit squishy. I told myself, "Quirks of not having a final build in place or using IOs." I pushed on to 50 while trying to finalize a build for him. I more than admit up front I am not a build god, but I had no idea what type of a monstrosity DM/Rad is when it comes to having places to hang the appropriate IOs. Start a build, see it going nowhere, start over on new build, see it going nowhere, repeat. So the guy sat on the shelf, I stopped playing for year, came back, and for some reason this morning decided to have a go at it again since I think I have gotten a bit better at building. Its a low priority thing. I currently have a Brute I am very happy with that I am working on, but I would like to get back to this guy someday. I understand that higher level foes and AVs will resist Darkest Night's To-Hit debuff heavily but rather than going Mu Mastery and having another 3 set of Artillery slotted, debuffing To-Hit seemed like it might be the better choice. So any suggestions whatsoever will be welcome.
  10. For the life of me I can not figure out exactly what I had done before. What is weird is most of the framework was here but I could not get the Defense values to come out properly. So as before, no purple sets. Because I could not figure out exactly what I did before I moved some things around and here is where I landed. Definitely not the be all, end all of builds but more defensive. @Sovera, you were right about Evolving Armor, but that was because I had started from the original post and it had it turned on. Now no stance are active. If you pop Defensive, F/C/E/N all leap into the 50s. Arguably Smash/Lethal resistance isn't quite capped. I feel no shame as 88.61 is close and why have Scaling Resist if it isn't going to do something for you. My previous comment (now erased) about some what lower Energy/Negative resistance and somewhat more drastically lowered Psionic resistance still holds as does the slight improvement to global Hasten. @Dr_Snokle, I tossed in Cross Punch. In truth you are not hurting for AoEs but it allowed for Force Feedback Chance for +Recharge. So why not? Arguably you could live without it. Ohhh...think I figured out part of the defense mystery...did not have Combat Jumping toggled on when I went back to rebuild. Yep, that's the original 2.9% I was off. Oh well, not going to go back at this point. This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.4.7 https://github.com/Reborn-Team/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 11. *Sigh* Somewhere along the way I did not save what I was working on and got things mixed in with another character. I'll fix and repost.
  12. Energy Mastery strikes me as being overkill. Dark Melee has endurance recovery via Dark Consumption and Bio boosts Recovery by several means and can, in Efficient Stance, cut your Endurance costs by roughly 23%.
  13. I have no problem with an argument that Bio is not the toughest. It was entirely the notion that it was somehow at the far end of survivability. As for scaling linearly, those things I listed do not exist in isolation and get better based on your resistance and defense. Nothing precludes you having high values in both of those.
  14. Sounds dangerously close to an abusive relationship here--"If I'd just supported Regen more it wouldn't have let those 5th Column members beat me to death."
  15. Is there a reason for Martial Arts? I do not have anything against it (never even played) but it does not seem to do anything all that meaningful/useful--minor disorients and knocback. Certainly if it fits theme or is interesting to you for whatever reason, go for it.
  16. Two things... The damage is 25%. Versus Fury I am not sure that is even worth worrying over. 180s versus 120s? Presumably without Offensive stance you'd have taken 25% longer for 150s, which is still less than 180s. That suggests Offensive Stance is not what put your Claws/Bio over your Claws/SR. Efficient stance grants a minor amount of extra endurance but more significantly it grants a 22.95% endurance cost discount. That means you can burn faster, so long as you can actually manage to go faster. And you do that with no penalty to your resistances like in Offensive stance. You just have to build to attack faster. And that is ignoring that you get boosted Regeneration and Recovery from it via Ablative Carapace, Evolving Armor, DNA Siphon, and Parasitic Armor (note that Bio has T9 power you can actually use). I do not disagree that Bio gives you an offensive boost, I just I think most people are going about it the wrong way. Why take a defensive hit if you do not have to? In any event, the claim I was I refuting was: Again, what is Ablative Carapace doing for you? DNA Siphon? Parasitic Aura? Making you more survivable last I checked. I am not sure how that is the opposite of toughest and survivable.
  17. So the ablative shield, heal, and regen boosting Bio does doesn't count for survivability?
  18. You quoted me but I assume your question is directed at FiveDiamondJack.

  20. Depends on what you want. Both will give you really good survivability. I've played DM/Inv and DM/Elec and done properly the DM/Elec is amazing but that relies on having double endurance recovery and double healing. WM doesn't do healing or endurance recovery like DM does and without that I think Invulnerability is easier to get to godly protection with when paired with WM. But Elec gives you endurance recovery--get low on endurance and you just walk into a group of enemies and fill up your endurance bar. You'll also get a damage aura, but that's a relatively minor consideration. So the question is do you want to have an easier time capping out your survivability or do you want to have an easier time sustaining damage output.
  21. WM/Elec Armor/Mu Heck, now I'm considering it.
  22. It has issues. My first KM scrapper (KM/Shield back on live) was frustrating because by the time the T9 activated half the time someone else had killed the target. Got a new one I'm levelling (KM/Bio) that is fun but will require sufficient IO loving that he's kinda sitting on the side while I work on other, less influence intensive projects.
  23. Just hope you know what you're getting yourself into with regard to Kinetic Melee.
