  1. I am off to work soon so don't have time to test, but how does this affect sets like Wp/Bio armor? they are quite low in the exotic mitigations and don't have DDR or much anyway. Bio's defensive stance may need looking at especially for the more difficult settings.
  2. I don't really get why Invulnerability or Energy aura need any buffs at all. They are some of the toughest sets already. Some sets mainly the defense ones with good DDR do really well in the toughest content and resist sets not as good. The tougher the content goes sets like Bio/wp will fail badly imo as the healing will not cope with the extra damage and the debuffs will just wreck them. Maybe look at all the sets instead of buffing the ones that don't really need it as much.

  4. They are between Scrappers and tankers in both survival and damage. You can build them more survivable or more damage orientated, it is up to you. Don't believe everything you read on the forums. Issues come from players trying to make them Tanker survival, then the damage takes a big hit or the other way around. Just accept their position of Scrapper>Brute>Tanker damage or Tanker>Brute>Scrapper survival and move on.

    That is why i chose Rad or Bio for my primary rather than Shield/invuln because it was a little more exciting trying to do tougher content. Shield is just too easy lol. I favor Bio now as it brings the damage and some content can be rough on it, making you react better. Tough as hell on on anything dishing out S/L damage though. If the MotT proc was changed it could hit Bio quite a bit but then you would have to adapt.

    I think @Bill Z Bubba is correct about the Tanker MotT proc it probably should be split 50/50 defence/resist really at least then see how that goes and adjust the numbers later. Tanker damage is fine as it is. Scrapper/Stalker>Brute>Tanker they seem quite equal. The difference is the Tanker can take a tremendous beating and slowly take the target down whilst a Scrapper can certainly get the job done much faster, it is the durability which can be in question at times. The extra AoE radius on Tankers may have been a little OTT but i do like it now lol. But balancing the game around SO's, when set IO's are so prevalent may be a big problem also. It also takes procs to bring Tanker damage up which they usually can afford to slot with their increased survival numbers.
  7. "slightly" There are players that like it as is, i am on if them, doesn't mean it can't be improved so even more like it. I mentioned my ideas in this after if you could read them also. Rage crash is an issue i think most will agree and an extra early cone would go nicely as the set lacks AoE until footstomp which is late coming. A version without Rage crashes would be worth investigating. Rage does seem to be a big factor in this set being proliferated to Scrappers/stalkers etc. But Rage should stay as is for now on Tankers/Brutes unless a new version is created and preferred by everyone.
  8. You are over thinking it lol. None of that is what i actually said. I never asked for a different powerset. I said slightly as in SS but with a few small changes/improvements like rage and a cone etc. A name is a name i don't really care. But i doubt Rage will be ported to scrappers as it is hence they may change it and call it something else. I stated in the beginning that "It could port easily". Not "this is a completely new powerset", which would not be easy..
  9. Well i would dump Punch. I would dump focused accuracy as SS does not have a problem hitting things with rage. I would take gloom and procced dark obliteration for more single target and mob clearing. A little more endurance gain especially if PP was dropped. Add a couple more LotG and recharge. Add some damage and FF procs. You are chasing a lot of psi resists which is ok if you want that build but i would rather just clear faster and deal with the holes in various other ways like teaming or just taking the mob out before they did me or use a temp/barrier power if really needed. I don't see the need to plug every hole unless you want to full tank but then i would suggest going a Tanker. I would not be scared to use inspirations to cover weakness. For how often you would need to use insps you could easily horde the right ones. You have some nice Tanking numbers but my Tanker will still be more survivable and probably do more dps. The brute can dps just as much as it can tank. I have done under 1.30 on a EM/Bio Brute and my SS/Bio Brute, built to do content and not just pylons does it in 1.45. If it's dead/arrested then it isn't dong me any more damage, just need to find the happy spot between dps and survival but remember this game is about teaming really.
  10. There is more to doing damage than one number posted. Personally i wouldn't use either of those builds but my goals are different. Of the 2, infinitums is better though.
  11. ok. I just don't like trying to build a Brute too tanky and losing damage to the point it is not much better than my Tankers that are built for more damage because they are really tanky anyway. I see the Brute as middle ground between Scrapper and Tanker and play them that way. I can tank but not as good as a Tanker and dps but not as good as a scrapper. Building them too far one way and you may as well just pick one of the other AT's. I am happy to accept a few weaknesses as team buffs will help with that and it makes it more fun imo. If i am soloing i will not pick the content i am weak against usually. I am not picking at your build in particular i have not really looked at it but it is just my view that some Brutes build for survival too much then complain that Tankers who build for dps are better. But it is off topic so ill stop here.
  12. I don't know why you would feel the need to plug every hole on a Brute anyway. Enjoy the extra damage but don't sacrifice it trying to reach Tanker numbers of survival, role a Tanker if you want that. Brutes are more than capable without chasing those numbers especially with a team and buffs.
  13. Try to minimize/maximize the icon on the task bar. Worked when i had the same problem. Never had the problem since.
  14. Shield can get pretty decent resists also. Better DDR but no heal that invuln has. Secondary can cure the heal problem though. I would like to know what content you are doing to require that defence/resist though lol and are you aiming to solo it?
  15. I think it could port easily. Rage is an issue but the rest isn't too bad. Just come up with a new rage and call it something else for Scrappers etc like Rampage or something. It could do with a cone attack early in the set for some earlier AoE. Hand clap could be the damaging cone attack, being a directed cone. Hurl isn't great but other sets have the same, except Dom's is better. Just reduce the activation time on it (SM also) to the same as Dominators 1.5 seconds. The rest isn't too bad other than to tweak the numbers here and there.
  16. I think the developers have an opportunity to create a slightly different Super Strength version for Scrappers etc. Not every set that gets ported is the same. If that version becomes the preferred then maybe make it so across all AT's. But it can't harm putting out a Scrapper version for us to test with out Rage or Rage crashes. I think the set needs an early cone type power either in hurl or Hand clap or something else. Some of the numbers probably need adjusting like Jab etc.
  17. I am not sure about the handing out more damage to Tankers lol. They are in a good spot now and that is noticeable by more people playing them, which is a good thing. Bill's comparison is probably Tanky built Brutes vs Dps Tankers. They will be much closer if built that way, but a Brute can build for dps and do a much better damage than the Tanker. A Tanker has a much easier time building to tank and that is it. I build my Brutes with dps in mind with decent survival and then i group up and receive buffs that turn me into a full tank but with much better damage. If i wanted to turn a Brute into a full tank then i would just roll a Tanker lol.
  18. If they are at damage cap then they are probably grouped and only contributing a small percent to the damage. So it doesn't really matter. But usually a Brute will out dps a Tanker and a Tanker will out Tank a Brute.

  20. My Brute is a good 30+ seconds faster on a pylon than my Tanker and my Scrapper is a good 30 seconds faster than my Brute, so whats the problem? Brutes still clear mobs faster and Tankers tank better. Grouped with buffs they are near equal. Your own experiences may differ but that is just your opinion.

  22. Shield is a good choice with its extra attack but Rad armor could be another alternative. Rad armor has an extra AoE attack (Ground Zero) and a heal that can be procced out into another AoE (Rad Therapy). Rad is more fun in my opinion. Secondaries that could be fun for you with SD.... Electric Melee. Plenty of AoE and some Flashy moves. Savage melee. A leap attack AoE. None Shield... Spines. Dual Blades. Claws.
  23. Having to resummon constantly due to AoE/low health and pets lagging behind/getting stuck. That is probably 3 things lol.
  24. I was threatened to be kicked from a team once for going ahead to the next group of mobs as i was the Tanker and the team decided to go a different way. There was no communication as to how they wanted to do it. They started dying and blamed me. I said they should really follow the Tank to which the disagreed and thought i should follow a Blaster. Anyway i finished that area and then made my excuses and left the team.
