The tragedy of the Brute Fury nerf. A timeless lament

That is just negativity. You need to give them idea's of how they could improve the Brute being a Brute player yourself. You must have some idea's surely after making so many posts about the subject? -
The tragedy of the Brute Fury nerf. A timeless lament

Yea i a not sure players will be willing to lose a class as you say. I did nention somewhere also about giving brutes a dps and tank stance though. They would lose capped resist etc in the dps stance but gain more damage via fury increase. They would gain mitigation in tanker stance but lose damage some. Either stance would be slightly less potent than the main class but they would geta role choice. The brute sort of wotks like that now but the differences would be closer with stances. But a good Brute ATO could really do a lot for the class just like the Scrappers etc does without major changes. -

What is it you would actually like them to do with Brutes now @Snarky? You made enough threads about the woes of the Brute, so tell us what you would do with them please. -

Fingers crossed you keep to your word 😛 At least you agreed with Krimson which is good lol. -

Lol You're funny 🙂 -
When you take out the FF proc from kick the recharge is pretty poor. Maybe try to increase that a little.

You need to revisit that "Trapdoor mission" thread and get your facts right. There is a Fire Blaster jumping in to the mob and destroying them. Wow! Solo and multiplayer are both a consideration. A Brute can solo very well. They may not be able to solo the hardest content but neither can a Tanker or Blaster. You are arguing for arguments sake and getting your own argument wrong. Just think before you post 🙂 -

Why make useless posts like this at all? arguing for arguments sake. -

So we see Blasters etc doing it but Brutes can not? lol So your gripe is that the Brute is not as Tanky as a Tanker and does less damage than a Scrapper whilst solo? Awesome! You seem to be forgetting that this is not a solo game but a mutiplayer game. That Brute becomes very Tanky with just a few buffs. Much Tankier than a Scrapper. 90% resists vs 75% is huge. Do not base your opinion entirely on soloing. If you want Scrapper damage then roll a Scrapper. if you want Tanker survival then roll a Tanker. If you want something in between roll a Brute. -

Those Tankers that did the Trapdoor test were pushing every ounce of damage they could via procs. They still had enough survival being tanks. Most Brutes build to be tougher like Tankers and lower their own damage. Build a Brute as you would a dps Tanker. You will be less survivable but you WILL out damage that Tanker equivalent. The Tanker may have a larger AoE/Arc but the Brute just hits harder altogether. I know this because i have both set up very similar. My Bio/SS Tanker absolutely destroys the mobs in Trapdoor but so does my Brute. Big deal! proves nothing except it is really easy even on +4x8 for both of them. I would not read too much in to the Trapdoor test except that it is easy and those that can manoeuvre it well do better. -

I would say they are closer on Trash but not on bosses, Brute wins on Bosses. But my SS/Bio Brute is faster than my Bio/SS Tanker. Both have similar dps builds. I put the Brute in the middle of Tanker and Scrapper for damage and in between Tanker and Scrapper for survival. The damage procs are contributing a lot to damage and they are equal across all classes. The Brute ATO definitely needs looking at. I will back you 100% with that and many others will also. The Brute is in an awkward position that's true, since moving from redside. But they are still effective. -

Lol. I am not totally against what you are saying. I said Max health, that which could be achievable as capping it out is very easy for some builds, could be a possibility but it's just an idle suggestion . -

Ranged will always have an advantage over melee by being at range. They get hit less, avoid AoE's and can more easily run as you say. But for Peregrine to say they are as durable Scrappers is wrong, even if you mean under certain circumstances. What they mean is they get hit less with possibly better chances of escaping, so may survive longer, Occasionally in certain builds/powers, in certain content, under the right conditions during a full moon standing on one leg, whilst reading Harry Potter they may be more survivable 😛 J/K Is that not true of any ranged class though? A defender could do the same. Less damage obviously but they bring buffs etc. Maybe with the new hard mode being in the thick of the fight as opposed to hiding at the back may be too much for some Scrappers/power sets. Perhaps the Scrapper needs a max health boost or something, i dunno. But with Barriers that can be chained, T9s and even Fade etc they are pretty tough and imo more fun than hanging at the back ready to bolt if some Bozo gives you a funny look. Brutes get 90% resist cap and better max health and when in a team with the right build/buffs is easy to achieve and makes them Tanks with fairly decent damage. -

Honestly you do not need to be antagonistic in every post you do not agree with dude. Yes a Blaster can drop their nukes etc then run to safety for a bit. Scrappers tend to Scrapperlock lol. Playstyle i guess. A well built Scrapper will continue the dps when the Blaster has run. They also have the tools to survive. T9's, barriers etc. Running away and popping PFF or Barrier etc is ok if you wish to play that way lol. Everyone is different. Still does not convince me though. -

Not seeing it. I have Scrappers that will out survive that. But it all depends on the mobs and if there is a Tank around etc. I think @Linea has a Scrapper that survives well in the 801 which i doubt a Blaster could do. The ranged defence is nice but without DDR can soon drop. PFF is handy but then that means no Dps. It also takes a set that has all Ranged attacks including the T9. -

I find this a little too much. I doubt a Blaster will have Scrapper survivability. They can try to stay at range (sometimes) to be more survivable but the damage will suffer. I do agree that it is easier to increase survival than damage though with IO's. Fire/cold, defense/resist seems one of the easiest to increase favoring some sets. The +damage in IO sets is certainly not worth chasing. Increasing the +damage in IO's would also just benefit Blasters even more. Scrappers never really had a hard time surviving but Blasters did. So i guess that is why the IO sets favor them. But what do we do about that now? -

A glass cannon should have an impact, but yes it can leave other dps lost. A tank(not always), as little support as needed and the glass cannons usually do well in pretty much every game. Shame for those in between sometimes. Hopefully players won't be elitist and take any decent dps/tank/support etc.. Same with power sets. Some are just better and can have more impact. But it should only matter in a tiny portion of this game. -

It may not hit as many but it is hitting them much harder than the other AoEs. Axe Cyclone brings them in, follow with Pendulum for more AoE, you could even add an epic pool AoE on top, then finish the few/boss remaining with Cleave which hits pretty hard and take out any others remaining also. It easy to chain an AoE rotation. If cleave were the only AoE i could see your point but it isn't. With Axe Cyclone pulling enemies in it is better being a small AoE than a cone. The old cone arc was small and you needed to reposition if there weren't and mobs left in the frontal arc. This version is easier. Maybe the radius could be increased to 4ft though, need to keep it realistic without losing it's damage. The set now has 3 AoE attacks with one being quite small but hitting much harder than the others. It will hit more than one foe and with it's decent damage is not bad at all. I like the new changes. Try it out a bit more and hopefully you will like it also 🙂 -

Just roll a Rad/SS or spines or some other Brute and farm energy mobs lol. The fiery aura change affects everyone that has access to it. Perhaps this is a good change. Nerf farming Brutes off the pinnacle so they can actually give them some decent buffs/upgrades in the future without buffing farming more. It could be because of farming that Brutes have been held back. -

Pendulum works well with Axe Cyclone. AC brings them in close for Pendulum to hit them easily. Cleave has good damage and does hit extra targets which is nice. Increasing it's radius would lower it's damage. The new set already has 2 AoE attacks. I have tried the set and it works well. It certainly gave me much more interest in playing the new BA set. The only thing i would like now is the Chainsaw Visual for halloween so i can go.... -

Just make it similar to Quills with 10 targets. Too much of a nerf otherwise. -

Dispersion bubble is a toggle AoE buff for the user and their team. 25ft radius i think. I think the 15 seconds is if you get Cc'd and it drops or team mates move out of the radius and they still get the cover for 15 seconds. -
Combat Teleport could be quite Mystic also.
