It's not really in a genre I care about. Also, it's built in such a way that it's more "technology testbed". I've never really been about games that could make a $4000 system feel like a half-dead P3 800 and an overheated Voodoo1. If you enjoy this sort of thing? Knock yourself out!

Yes. The exorbitant time investment pre-Merits was nuts. Most would play it once (or several times in shifts to complete) and get the badge. Now, with Mission TP, Team Teleport, Mission Teleport, and a plethora (El Guapo: Do joo know what a plethora eez?)... ...of travel powers, the pain point of the TF (the time investment) is down to a far more reasonable duration. I've done one BEFORE these changes. It took about 14 hours. Now you can, if you're lazy, do it in under 3. -
Addressing the lower-level IO problem
Hyperstrike replied to macskull's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
They remain weak, period. Remember, Catalysts don't boost the enhancement value at all. Nor do they allow enhancement values to continue to grow beyond the set's level cap. A level 30 Volley Fire gives you the same base enhancement values as a catalyzed Volley Fire on a Level 50. Boosters will enhance the values, but, as always, the improvement is negligible and the expense is out of whack with the improvement.- 69 replies

No. Because regen numbers are such that, unless it is killed by a fast pulse damage, will be effectively immortal.

I generally twink myself our with a few million. Then dump all commons and salvage up to 35. After that common IOs and continue dumping salvage. I hit Incarnates with about 90 million in Inf. And, because I was pushing through all content, I was pulling in phat Merit action. As such, the toon is ready for a "final" build.

Exporting the data chunk works. Exporting to InfoGraphic or Mobile doesn't.

New Computer - Any pitfalls to worry about?

It's also a way to get "problem children" devices. Agreed. I'm just spoiled. -
It's not that they did so DESPITE the safety ratings. It was just that they had several standards in play and picked the wrong standard to chase. Leaving the rear chassis assembly unreinforced. Here's one of the crash tests of the Pinto demonstrating the problem.

By preference I don't see the point of buying a used computer unless you are REALLY good at pulling good deals out of thin air. And buying it as an additional machine... -
Actually the tank ruptures were seldom "explosions" like this. The area, due to misunderstanding of NHTSA safety standards wasn't reinforced properly, and essentially became a crush zone. So fuel leaks in a crash could lead to fires.

Sorry, no. If you have a work-based (Graphic arts, sound production, multimedia) purpose for running Mac, or have been a pre-existing Mac customer, maybe. Otherwise, I don't recommend one trapping oneself in the platform. Simply because I'm playing a game doesn't mean I want to cripple myself on a toy. -

If you're running at anything over 1024x768, crank your FSAA down to 2x-to-4X. You quite literally won't be able to tell the difference without spot inspections or software. Glad you're enjoying the "new hotness" though. -
HELP! New laptop has huge ping when playing
Hyperstrike replied to Flintlock Burnfur's topic in Help & Support
No. But modern Windows, when you do a default reboot doesn't actually shut all the way down and restart from scratch. It's basically using the same systems for Hibernation that it does for fast reboot. It saves the system state to a dump file, and uses that to quickly reboot the machine. The major problem with that is that over time, minor bit-level errors creep in and corrupt that saved state. This is happening on the CLIENT END (your local machine). For workstations you have easy physical access to, and can managed a hard reboot on, it's not a problem. Because you CAN manage the hard reboot. But using fast boot on a server is about as dumb as cleaning out your ears with a hole saw. Possibly DUMBER. -

No, it's not double-boxing. The mere running of multiple monitors degrades game performance to a certain degree. Whether you're running one game across 2+ monitors, whether you're running multiple games across multiple monitors. Or whether you've got a game on one monitor and multiple other things running on another. There are varying levels of performance hit. Again, at 2 monitors, the performance hit is minor (but not nonexsitent). Now, COULD I see better performance by turning off 2 of my monitors and just running on the remaining one? Sure. But: I'd actually gain more performance back because I'd be running in 2160x3840 ('m running in Portrait Mode) instead of 6480x3840. Which'd be a MASSIVE load off my GPU. I'd wind up having to PHYSICALLY reconfigure my monitor setup, because trying to do single-monitor portrait mode would SUCK, due to the limited horizontal space. And finally, I've already modified my system UI software so I can work around the massive problems Windows (and Windows 11 in particular) throws at multi-monitor use that isn't ultra-ultra-mega widescreen. Because of how CoH renders widescreen, I'd lose 90% of my vertical clearance and wind up with a 12K pixel wide ribbon in which my character disappears into. Even so, I'd recommend playing with your FOV (crank it to max) to help increase what your camera will render in-game. Default? And zoomed out? I can barely cover the floor of the mothership. FOV maxed out? I can get a good 45 degree camera shot of the entire lower level, plus views of entities at the edge of the lower mezzanine. -

Uh. Do you mean integrated GPU chips? Because a dedicated GPU is something like an RTX 4060 or an AMD Radeon. As to you having "no issues" with multiscreen. Are you running multi-screen in a Windows OS? If so, then you do. There is a tiny-but-not-zero framerate dropoff in multi-monitor mode. With two, the dropoff is barely noticeable. At 3 or more, and the difference becomes more pronounced. -

I'm not saying Ryzen 5 isn't perfectly acceptable. Simply that the configurator from Dell auto-downgrades the SSD and memory volume. -
Man there's a load of comedy films I will just get in trouble for posting about.
