  2. Hami is rough on everything. Massive debuffs, and basically auto-hit. And a general answer when people point out "it sucks". YES! It DOES. BUT it sucks LESS than *insert comparison*. Also, I generally don't recommend people simply BLINDLY copy my builds. I toss them out there as a baseline for a generally VERY tough build. Mainly because people don't always give me their build priorities. So I default to "push Defense and Resist". Where people go from there? Up to them.
  3. I see you ignored my distinction between Damage Mitigation and heal/regen.
  4. Pretty much. If you look at my starting/leveling builds, they're usually WILDLY different than my end-game builds. Yes, if cash becomes available, (and for me, cash is nearly ALWAYS available), I can twink lower level builds with universal "nice to haves", like Numina, Miracle, and Panacea uniques as they become available to me. I should probably be WAY more religious about my "this is an end-game build" disclaimer...
  5. I think we have some miscommunication going on. My basic point is, in a final, end-game build, you can usually eake out better survivability through set bonuses and fairly cut-throat slotting than you can from taking DP and throwing six slots at it. Now I'm STILL taking DP! Don't get me wrong. I'm an idiot. Just not THAT big of an idiot. It's just that healing/regen is NOT "damage mitigation". And I generally prefer to slot for ACTUAL damage mitigation/damage avoidance so I just don't take the damage, and therefore don't need to patch it up after.
  6. So you're saying that cranking 50% Regen out of Defense slottings, and ladling in 30-50% more Resist, while stacking in Incarnate Soft-cap levels of defense isn't a better investment than six slotting DP? REALLY?
  7. I do not "build around having to" take anything. For DP, take it because NOT having any heal at all is generally a Bad Idea<TM>. But there's a BIG difference between not taking it and simply not going ham on the slot distribution. And I've said multiple times over the years, the builds I'm producing are generally meant to be END GAME builds. Not leveling builds. Not SO builds.

  9. Oh for the love of. My point isn't "Don't take DP."! My point is you can generally find bigger paybacks on survivability than SIX SLOTTING DP.

  11. If you're only getting hit 5% of the time, and shedding 90% of the damage, and the total incoming damage is LESS than your current regeneration rate...is there a need to do so?

  13. It's 40% because of HEALTH. If you turn off Health, it's 100%. And you really can't turn Health off anymore. My point is that DP is a +HP power that happens to deliver additional Regen because of the way HP works. NOT "Health boosts your Regen".
  14. Nah! I'm perfectly content to take MONTHS to SSSSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWLLLLLLLLYYYYYYY sand off every last HP. And if there's a problem, I'll just continue fighting them to a standstill until they just give up.
  15. Because +HP affects HOW MANY HP (or fractional HP) you regenerate in a set time. Tank. Bare build, no enhancements. HP: 1874 With auto-Health, that's 140% base regen. 10.93HP/sec Now, just turn on DP. HP: 2523 With auto-health, that's STILL 140% regen. BUT, because the base HP is higher, 140% on 2523 = 15.3 HP/sec Yes, more HP regenerating, but your actual REGEN PERCENTAGE VALUE doesn't change.
  16. Sorry. Regen has a specific meaning in the game. If you wish to refer to it as "regen", I guess. It's just misleading.
  17. A +HP/Heal power is, TECHNICALLY, a "Regen" power. But it's not a set value. As +HP will affect every Tank differently. Your ACTUAL "Regen" value doesn't actually change. You simply have a larger pool of HP to work from.
  18. I will respectfully degree. 4 Resist powers. Including the T9. 2 Regen powers. 2 +HP Powers. Resist.
  19. Uhm. NO. Elec, Fire, and even Rad, are not *regen* tanks. They are RESIST tanks. Their ability to flat-out-mitigate (not avoid (Defense), not heal/regenerate) damage. It is quite easily possible to cap out nearly all Resist values on these tanks. And, even their non-optimal Resist values are still generally better than hybrid Def/Res and ACTUAL Regen tanks. So let it be written. So let it be done!
  20. I've found that, when having unsolvable problems in Mids, it's just generally faster and more efficacious to rip it out and reinstall using the following process. Download and run Revo Uninstaller Portable. Have it uninstall Mids. Let it scan the registry using the Advanced setting. Eliminate left-over registry settings. Eliminate left-over files. Reinstall the latest version of Mids Reborn. Downloaded freshly from the website.

  22. Will just kick out my current PB's Perma-Hasten, Perma-LF build. As I always note when I'm posting this, this is NOT a "use this build" build. This is an attempt to document the build by transcribing the screen down into a Mids build in no particular order. As the original build file died a horrible death during a machine cleanup.
  23. Then take MY word for it. Somebody coined me "The Patron Saint of Invuln". And doesn't THAT just tickle my fancy. I tend to refer to Invuln as a hybrid set. But, realistically speaking, it's primarily a Resist-based set with a couple of Defense powers that give greater flexibility in end-game content. With no set bonuses and no ancillary powers and max-value Common IOs, Invuln will deliver a fully saturated Defense value of 31.7% to typed. Non-SL Resist is also 31.7% with S/L coming in at 71.3% (with Psi delivering BUPKISS.

  25. With the build you have, go Cardiac. You still sit on capped Resists.
