https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/197310/intel-celeron-processor-n4020-4m-cache-up-to-2-80-ghz.html Low graphics performance due to the Intel UHD graphics. You're probably going to be limited to 1024x768 and low quality settings to get any sort of acceptable performance. It also only has 2 single-thread cores, for a maximum of 2 threads. So you could see some transient speed issues as other applications need to steal CPU time.

Incarnate for Human only build
Hyperstrike replied to meyerwolf406's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
On the plus side, you basically built a perfectly acceptable perma-Light Form build. So kudos there! #AchievementsInIgnorance 😁 Sans the dedicated Taunt, you function well as an Off-Tank/Brute/Scrapper with some ranged attacks. Have guys fleeing? Zap them. Have guys in your face? Zap them AND *KLONG!* them. -
Incarnate for Human only build

The thing is...you're Perma Light Form. The solution is to just hit Light Form again... -
Incarnate for Human only build

The way you're built, the 4 slots in Light Form are a waste. 2 slots, generic Recharge IOs. If you want to regain most of the Defense, drop LOTG: Defense into Quantum Maneuvers and Stealth. Modified version of your build: I honestly don't really see the point of Mighty Leap or Unleash Potential. And just for ideas, here's a copy of my current build. Pulled "out of order" from the game screen. -
Never mind that most wireless dongles are crap... Power delivery is shoddy. Antenna surface area and positioning suck (as you're stuck in the middle of a metal plate, and usually pushed against a wall). This is the equivalent of Lamborghini vs Yugo. Well I removed the spark plugs from all but one cylinder on the Lambo, and it doesn' work now! Yugos at least WORK!

So, any color you want, so long as it's black? No. I'm a big fan of FRUs. Which is why I'll never buy Mac.
-
I envy you. I've pretty much used every version of DOS, all versions of Windows, and just about every Linux/BSD distro available. Hell, I even had the misfortune of using CPM!

It's basically a bunch of finger pointing. To NVIDIA, it's a PSU problem. To the PSU makers, it's a manufacturing problem with NVIDIA. And, they're BOTH right. Do you want to start measuring GPU generations in DECADES? How much DO you want to spend on a very carefully build and managed power supply?

See: Auto-Hit. Yes, I'm following up after this is pointed out. But this is a conversation, so I figure I should answer so it doesn't seem like I drop a bomb on you and run.... ENJOY THE THERMAL DETONATORRRR!!!!! *KABLOOIE!* ME BRUDDER!

You have our condolences.

1: There is NO NEED to put +Acc in Taunt. It's an auto-hit power. 2: Giving up Death Shroud deprives you of a major source of DoT. Here's a modified build for considerations, or at least to give you some ideas.

Basically the thread scheduler in Win11 is optimized to handle "Performance" and "Efficiency" cores differently. So on Win10, you see performance fall-off. HOWEVER, if you're running AMD's Ryzen platform (and I am), the thread scheduler in Win11 results in performance LOSS. There's been some tweaking going on there (Win11 was primarily developed against Intel) to bring AMD performance back up. I just don't know how far that's gotten. As for GPU. What's your hardware specs? So long as you have a PSU that can handle it, there should be no reason you couldn't put a 3060 in something from the last couple generations of system. As Bill said, this is likely a PCI 3.0 vs 4.0 thing. You'll still see gains out of a higher spec card. You simply won't be able to push the card as hard. One recommendation I might give is to over-buy your PSU at least moderately. 10K, 20K, 30K (and the upcoming 40K) cards are having higher power draw numbers. Worse, their transient loads can be outrageous. With spikes of 50-100% over their baselines. So trying to dial in on card spec numbers could leave you with a system that might simply power down (like over-current protection) in the middle of a momentary power spike. Explanation and some graphing: Right now, about the only way to avoid these problems is to step up the spec of your PSU. Note: If you're looking at a new board, you're essentially looking at a new system. New CPU New board New memory (4790 is DDR3, a new board will give you choices between DDR4 and DDR5, depending on what you get.) And, likely you'll just want to grab a new case so you can build at your leisure and keep your original setup functional in the duration. Recommendation for components for a minimally expensive AMD rig. https://newegg.io/bc54b8d Note: This setup is also initially planned to be able to run and game without a discrete GPU. You can ALWAYS add one later. An evil virus that's infecting millions upon millions of computers worldwide.

Most people, if they're not actually gaming, don't need a "gaming" laptop. But spec'ing for an SSD, more than base RAM and a APU generally pays more dividends. In terms of acceptable performance AND equipment longevity. If someone requires something with dedicated graphics units, they're generally better off on a workstation. Mostly because actual graphics performance in the mobile space is an absolute ripoff for professional setups.

Had a similar situation with my mom's HP laptop. The thing was an i7 spec unit. It had a failing HD in it, so it was dog-*POOP!* slow. It was 8GB of RAM and a 1TB drive. She'd been worried about needing to buy a new laptop to travel. But every time I talked about simply repairing and upgrading, I got waved off. Finally got sick of it. So I bought another 8GB and a 1TB SATA SSD. Popped the thing open, put in the RAM and the new drive. Then... "Oh. There's an M.2 slot in here t0o! And I happen to have another 1TB M.2 drive! *CLICK!*" After reloading and restoring her data, the thing SCREAMS now. And battery life actually went UP. She likely won't need a new laptop for another 5 years MINIMUM.

Yep.

You can pretty much run CoH on any SOC (like most Intel on-chip graphics, like the AMD Ryzen 7 58003DX

In the end, your budget will determine what you get.

I like the cut of your jib... May I subscribe to your periodical?

Hami is rough on everything. Massive debuffs, and basically auto-hit. And a general answer when people point out "it sucks". YES! It DOES. BUT it sucks LESS than *insert comparison*. Also, I generally don't recommend people simply BLINDLY copy my builds. I toss them out there as a baseline for a generally VERY tough build. Mainly because people don't always give me their build priorities. So I default to "push Defense and Resist". Where people go from there? Up to them.
-
I see you ignored my distinction between Damage Mitigation and heal/regen.
-
Pretty much. If you look at my starting/leveling builds, they're usually WILDLY different than my end-game builds. Yes, if cash becomes available, (and for me, cash is nearly ALWAYS available), I can twink lower level builds with universal "nice to haves", like Numina, Miracle, and Panacea uniques as they become available to me. I should probably be WAY more religious about my "this is an end-game build" disclaimer...
-
I think we have some miscommunication going on. My basic point is, in a final, end-game build, you can usually eake out better survivability through set bonuses and fairly cut-throat slotting than you can from taking DP and throwing six slots at it. Now I'm STILL taking DP! Don't get me wrong. I'm an idiot. Just not THAT big of an idiot. It's just that healing/regen is NOT "damage mitigation". And I generally prefer to slot for ACTUAL damage mitigation/damage avoidance so I just don't take the damage, and therefore don't need to patch it up after.
-
So you're saying that cranking 50% Regen out of Defense slottings, and ladling in 30-50% more Resist, while stacking in Incarnate Soft-cap levels of defense isn't a better investment than six slotting DP? REALLY?
