  1. Using the existing Praetorian Clockwork animations, I think it would be fairly easy to piece together an "Integrated Weaponry" ranged blast powerset. The exact numbers and effects would have to be tweaked, but I think it would be a great addition to the game. I don't have an exact breakdown of the set or its specific schtick, yet, (-regen/defense seems appropriate), but it would offer a nice alternative to energy blast or beam rifle, and there are plenty of powers. Your thoughts? Thanks!
  2. This got me thinking - what if the progress bar you fill up doing radio/newspaper missions was instead moved to the police contact or informant, and otherwise divorced from the radio/newspaper contact altogether. Add a blurb saying "The [contact] has a new job for you", with a related option to disable any such future notifications, then all should/would be happy...
  3. But how am I supposed to get support for MS Word or Hotmail, now?
  4. This is such a stickler for me. Even with the alternate animations, it's the chief reason I haven't leveled any psi blast character significantly. This also bugs me - I'll cast the power, and while my character is done with the animation, they're locked from doing anything for another second or so. My issue is the internal debate as to whether I can correct the character using the remaining power picks they have, whether I should use a respec *now*, or whether I should tough it out to 50 and use a respec then or if the issue can be remedied via Incarnate abilities...
  5. I'm rather enjoying Campfire Cooking. I initially liked Eminence in Darkness, but it's gotten silly to a fault as the series progressed.
  6. There are a lot of sex-specific pieces that would look nice w/o any clipping issues, if ported across to the other body types. For instance, I'd like the barbarian belt shared between male/huge & female, (they are called the same but look quite different). I can understand certain chest pieces/details not being so easy, but the various belts, boots, and shoulder options should be much easier...
  7. I find that most support sets hinge on 1-3 powers. To that end, I try to maximize their effectiveness in those areas. Yes, I also want to be able to deal damage myself, and if you want to hop between soloing and team play, you'll need that. For instance, I have an earth/pain controller that I was playing a lot, and I found that nullify pain, soothe, and world of pain were what I was using most often. For the first 2, 3 heals was really the most important, and a recharge in nullify pain since it had a slightly longer recharge time. World of pain was a bit tougher, as it offers many great effects. I wanted it up as often as possible, so 3 recharge went in there, and the tohit buff was a secondary concern, so a few slots went to that. Of course I wanted my control powers slotted, but as long as I always had something available, I wasn't too concerned with maxing their recharge. It's really a matter of balancing things and playing to your primary & secondary's strengths and/or compensating for their weaknesses...
  8. A lot depends upon just how much I like that particular character - if I'm really into them, then I'll tweak and refine it, but I try to pace the rate at which I go through respecs. That being said, as of late, I seem to get hung up on that final power pick and/or the placement of 1 or 2 slots, rather than the bulk of the build itself. I really only care that the character is fun to play and that they have enough end to get through most fights without sucking wind...
  9. Alternatively, when you go to use the radio, and it directs you to talk to said police contact, simply add an option to decline the bank mission from there...
  10. Infern-Operative
  11. What do you do when a supposed "Super Soldier Serum" merely grants you some pyrokinetic abilities? You make liberal use of all the gadgets various governmental agencies have to offer. The result - "The Infernoperative": Regular look: And his covert/night-ops look:
  12. I love the combination of that chest piece and chest detail. Splendid!
  13. Nah, it's called game balance and thought/investment in builds, but feel free to keep the salt mine going...
  14. I thought that's what we all were doing... 😛
  15. I thought that's what Clamor and battle Maiden did! 😛
  16. You're just propping up "Big Cherry Cordial", you shill!
  17. So what happens when you/your character simply says they don't believe them, or just chalk their claims up to some sort of delusion. Heck, you could even give them the benefit of the doubt but say they're "THE time stream" from an alternate dimension that has no impact on the current one, and they simply don't comprehend that fact...
  18. I made a similar suggestion a while back - basically, instead of it being a "Firearms Pool", instead make it a "small arms" or some sort of general security/self defense/survival pool. Something like: 1. Pistol shot - basic ranged lethal attack dealing minor damage with a fast recharge, possibly with a defense debuff that many gun attacks have. 2. Set snare - a simple power placed down where you are currently standing, which slow enemies that pass over/near it, possibly dealing some minor DoT, (toxic/lethal). 3. Poultice - A simple self HoT ability, (possibly with a minor amount of toxic resistance). 4. Camouflage - Somewhat like the old stealth power - provides a higher degree of stealth than most powers, but imparts a hefty movement penalty. 5. Lay of the land - Provides a minor tohit, recovery, and movement speed buff to you and your teammates while toggled on.
  19. Objectively false. Your choices should have some weight. If "wasting" a power pick is such a big deal to you, then forego tough and/or weave. Also false. Seems contrary to your "It's about wasting power pics" comment.
  20. Well, "HEAT" from this thread title generally refers to the Heroic Epic ArcheType, not the Soldiers of Arachnos...
  21. I believe some of the Nictus in certain *-levels of the updated ITF can do this, (or is it the Warshade version of fold space?).
  22. Then let's better inform players about the market and how to make the most of it...
  23. Doesn't mud pots serve that function?
  24. Well that's the rub, isn't it. Even Bane Spiders can only achieve their crits by using a version of placate beforehand to force them into a hidden state, and Night Widows basically have an OP smoke grenade...
  25. The problem is that taking a pool power that is similar to something you already have, (boxing or kick for melee characters), will not be as good as their primary or secondary powers, which is by design,. For someone who does not have access to such direct attacks, they may be more appealing. Even then, those attacks are never going to have the kind of utility or appeal as hasten...
