That says more about ROP than SOW

Yeah, mark me down WP at the bottom for needing any balance pass for T9. Yeah SOW resists are dumb in that it doesn't really need S/L unless you are skipping tough ... but most T9s only add more of what that set is already good at as well.

The comic, at least the early run, was not really anything other than a coming of age tale for a pakistani-american muslim teenage girl who finds out she has super powers. As such you got a peek into a diferent ethnic sub-culture and how its different than the now comic book standard that started with Spider Man. 23 pages a month keeps everything basically superficial. Sure there are a lot of monologs and thought bubbles, but thats every solo comic book character really.

It will be interesting if this chracter actually has some connection to Capt Marvel lore. As it may be based on some of this stuff. In the comic there is no connection beyond her being a CM fan.

Wasn't just my opnion though. In an interview Gary Kurtz (Producer and early George Lucas collaborator on the Star Wars project) said as much, and explained that is why he asked to be bought out instead of stay involved in Return Of The Jedi. He was offended that the whole thing seemed a nod to the Hasbro people. In the original story idea, there was no second Death Star, and no happy ending of the Empire colapsing. Instead ended with a confrontation between Luke and Vader+Emporer. After Luke suceeded he just walked off into the sunset. Basically like in a Western or a Samurai movie. To walk the Galaxy .. like Caine in Kug Fu.

There are only Two Star Wars Movies. Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. Return of the Jedi is a 2 hour long Infomercial intended to sell Ewok toys. The Prequels are a TV quality mini-series that got a ton of the Lore Wrong. The Sequels are Fan Fiction.

When I tried that, the SF giver didn't want to talk to me. But I may be wrong.

You can participate in them as a Vigilante too, but only as a team member. There is some sketchiness if you aren't in the Isles during some of the team invites and such but other than that SFs are NP.

The other problem is the glass cannon isn't really any more cannon-y than a IO build with some decent defenses built in.

I think I get the logic path .. P2W powers are okay to use .. So Obviously you may as well give "Access to Powers At All Levels After Acquisition" Sort of a "If all this Power Creep is okay, why not this other Power Creep?" I mean whatever there is already so much power creep that we are basically playing with cheat codes at this point .. And you wouldn't have to change any of your Quick Bars around or even mess with yout toggles when you exemp anymore .. LOL Go. Nova. Skuls. ----------- Of course it means just giving in entirely to the whole idea of balance. Lower Levels did have a little left .. sort of. I'd rather turn the argument around. If I could find the energy. Lets do a Balance Pass on the P2W vendor .. And maybe a balance pass on Exemplaring. Maybe Exemplared characters are already too powerful.

You also could not increase the enemies without making the threat environment too high for actual low level players. You'd probably end up with people playing Posi WST requiring all team members to be over a certain level (probably 35), that way you could run at max difficulty.

Never liked the generic aspect of the powers we did get tbh.

Irony being TV version of The Boys is not really all that faithful an adaption.

Black Panther being an African was an integral part of his character. As was Wakanda being an African country. For some characters though, it is less important. Changing Nick Fury into a Black Character for the UltU / MCU didn't seem to change anything other than appearance.

I don't have any problems with the racial changes that many critics seem to claim. It might make sense from a genetic drift standpoint in LOTR to make all Dwarves or All Elves of African decent, but if they want to do it with the more colorblind approach I suppose that is fine too. It really doesn't change the story of Lord of the Rings. I also am generally okay with making sexuality based changes or even a gender flip, as long as it doesn't really affect the plot. My problems with adaptions are where they change the narrative, plot critical points, and so on in a faithless manner. If they need to remove less important plot elements because of time, sure that is okay. If they change the basic story so they can add a bunch of stuff they just made up? Nah that is faithless.

One thing that concerns me about faithless adaptions is that they also tend to bomb. The faithless adaptors almost always adapt out the intangibles that keep the original work appealing. Meaning it will be a very long time before another adaption is considered. It was what, 40 years, between Dune movies? As an example. I doubt we will ever get another Wheel of Time adaption. This current faithless adaption will kill it. LOTR at least once made a lot of money. So maybe this new series wont push it back into geekdom obscurity. Guess it depends on how bad it is.

SR has that advantage that it take up very few slots to reach nigh unkillable status even while exemplared. Allowing you to focus on other build priorities. It doesn't even require very many slots to reach Incarnate Def Soft Cap, if that is a build goal.
