I have a softcapped fire/shield scrapper. Mids is showing him as 44.9% melee, 45% ranged, 45% AoE. In-game shows 44.88% for each positional defense. Melee makes sense, just a rounding difference since Mids shows 1 decimal point and the game shows two. I'm not sure what's going on with Ranged and AoE though. Any ideas?

Yeah, you're right I forgot about that.

Dark armor is a great set with one glaring weakness. You will have incredible endurance problems. I played a DA tank on live, and once I hit 50 and got fully IO'd he was an absolute beast. The road to 50 was absolute hell.
-
OK, I was hoping I could get them as rewards since they're worth a lot more merits than I was getting for finishing the arcs.
-
Cut scene dialog didn't fix it, but adding NPC dialog back to my chat tab did. Removing it from your chat tab removes also removes the chat bubbles, which is why I wasn't seeing anything.
-
No, I didn't realize I needed to. So there's no text box that shows it like the iTrial cutscenes?
-
I was running the Who Will Die signature story arc today and came across two seemingly unrelated bugs. 1. I'm not seeing any of the text during the cutscenes. 2. I'm not able to choose a hero merit as a reward. This is my first time running the signature arc, and I confirmed my alignment as hero earlier today.

Yes, sentinels have new mechanics. But they also have a huge number of powersets to choose from. And epic ATs re-use some animations, but at the time they came out they had entirely unique animations, mechanics, and costume pieces (Buttcapes and crab backpacks were unique to VEATs when they came out, and the Kheldian forms required new art and animations). If you want to build a new Epic AT that's going to feel truly unique and different like the existing ones, they'll need something like that too. Otherwise you've just created a new archetype cobbled together out of existing pieces, and if you're going to do that, why limit it to a single powerset choice?

Power Armor (ranged damage set)
molten_dragon replied to Purrfekshawn's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm generally in favor of new powersets. But on the other hand I'm generally against powersets that are this tied to a specific look/concept. Ultimately gonna go with no thanks. -
This isn't something I personally care much about. Being able to make significantly larger or smaller characters wouldn't enhance my enjoyment of the game. So from a developer time perspective I'm against this. However, it's not something that would detract from my enjoyment of the game either, so if enough of the community wants it, I'm cool with it too.

Epic archetypes tend to have unique powers and mechanics. That means developing completely new powers, potentially with new art assets and animations. That's a lot more work than just making a new archetype out of already existing assets the way the Sentinel was created.

Definitely agree.

I'm currently unable to enter Kings Row. I've tried the train and superbase teleporters. When I attempt it, the game locks my character in place like it typically does when zoning and I'm just stuck like that. I can still move the camera and chat. Relogging unsticks my character, but I'm still unable to enter Kings Row.

Code of Conduct Update - September 25th 2019
molten_dragon replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
Honestly, I expected something like this was coming for a long time. I think I only have one character that might be affected by this, although it's pretty obscure so I'm not sure anyone will actually catch it and report it. If it does, I'll pick another name, no big deal. -
If I remember right they're not actually auto-hit, they just have a much higher to-hit than most mobs

Some days I play the game with the sound effects and music on, others I feel like listening to music while I play instead, just depends on what kind of mood I'm in that day. It's kind of annoying having to go into the menu and change the volume sliders each time. Would it be possible to add a new slash command to the game to mute and unmute the volume?

Feedback: Testing Melee Set Performance
molten_dragon replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
While I agree, in general, that nerfs should be done only with great caution and only when absolutely needed, I'd like to point out a couple of counterpoints to this. Because I've seen about half the people in this thread post "Just boost the underperforming sets" 1. Devs time is limited, and making changes to several sets is more work than making changes to one set. Right or wrong, nerfing TW is less work than boosting all of the underperforming melee sets. 2. At a certain point, you have to say "Here's the power level we're going to balance around, anything below this should be brought up, and anything above should be brought down." Because if you just keep rebalancing around whatever the most powerful available set is, you end up with a lot of power creep. Something this game is already intimately familiar with. We're already at the point where a lot of endgame content has become fairly trivial even for modestly optimized characters. The only other option is to increase the difficulty of the content, and that's a hell of a lot more work than rebalancing the numbers of a few powersets. -

Ah, you're right. I forgot AAO from shield defense included a taunt. -
issue 26 Patch Notes for September 10th, 2019
molten_dragon replied to Leandro's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
As I mentioned, I tested it out with several different types of enemies. Various types of rikti (not just drones, and not just groups that include a drone), Nemesis, crey, and malta have all shown the ability to see through the superspeed + celerity combination if I get close enough. -
issue 26 Patch Notes for September 10th, 2019
molten_dragon replied to Leandro's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
I'm not sure if this is an issue related to the patch or if I'm just misremembering how things are supposed to work, but it seems like Superspeed combined with the Celerity +stealth IO no longer offer complete invisibility. I tested it with several different types of enemies around the RWZ during a LGTF, and it seems like if I get close enough any enemy type can see me. -
The number one thing I want is just assurance that the game's not going to disappear again due to a C&D order. That would already be provided by default if it became legitimate. The number two thing is being able to keep the progress I've already made on homecoming. My characters, my costumes, my names, all that good stuff. Anything beyond that is gravy, but if I'm getting greedy there are two major things I'd want to see. First off, finish the incarnate system, all 10 slots. And second, content to go with it, everything right up to the looming threat that the Menders keep talking about. Anything else beyond that would fall into the "It would be cool but I'm not that passionate about it" category. Stuff like a graphics upgrade, new powersets, new ATs, etc.

I was envisioning the idea of the ultimate tank the other day. Armor primary, control secondary. Pretty much no solo ability, but amazingly good at holding the attention of, and controlling spawns.

Since I found Homecoming I've been trying out as many new characters and powersets that I never got around to trying on live as I can. I never did much more than toy around with VEATs and am interested in trying one out. Can someone more experienced share what the playstyles are like for the various options? Just trying to get a feel for what I might enjoy most.
