  1. Correct, outside of iTrial baddies that get their own level shifts over 54. I build around at least 95% chance to hit +3’s. Though a buffer for tohit debuffing or defense buffed enemies is still preferred.
  2. Well yeah you gotta understand how to scrap in melee as a defender to do Poison right. That doesn’t constitute a problem to me, just a slight learning curve.
  3. Slot it: Javelin Volley: Chance for Lethal Damage Bombardment: Chance for Fire Damage Positron’s Blast: Chance for Energy Damage Explosive Strike: Chance for Smashing Damage Annihilation: Chance for Resistance Debuff Force Feedback: Chance for Recharge Buff
  4. Try playing as if the combo mechanic doesn’t exist. This approach works fine so if you really want to play an animal character with those animations there is zero reason not to.
  5. The latter sounds like it’s working as intended because range enhancements increase range, not radius, and the game clearly designates those as two separate things. The former is about a tank mechanic explicitly increasing “radius” so is far more fishy.
  6. Well please don’t “fix” Poison either on that note then 🙂
  7. Ok but... under that logic I don’t want to see it designed “better” sooo standard has questionable value to me 🙂
  8. Yes. Savage Leap procs well and Lightning Rod does not.
  9. I’ve decided to ban all three of you from teaming with Kins until you recant this backwards-ass bull that devalues half the best sets in the game. 🙂
  10. I’d agree with you if the powers were bad, but skippable and bad aren’t the same. The powers in question are skippable but not bad. Bad powers make bad sets. Skippable powers make flexible sets. I think about every single power. But it’s nice to not have to agonize over every power and every slot when you want good pool/epic picks too.
  11. Welp agree to disagree on that one. Most of my absolute favorite characters are exceptional because their builds afforded them bandwidth to really go all out. For instance SR tanks need almost zero slotting towards their primary, so I wasn’t forced to choose between set bonuses and proc bombs on mine. The build was so wide open that I 5 slotted Brawl and Boxing for bonuses and made my main attacks as OP as possible. Other sets that afford you tons of flexibility include Illusion Control and Radiation Emission. It’s almost like power skippability defines the best sets in the game. Most powers can be desirable, so I don’t think we have a problem there, but I find it painful when too many powers feel mandatory.
  12. I’m not good with combo mechanics either, and, in spite of having every Blaster set IO’d, none of my Blasters can match yours’ ranged defense. Mine tends to land around 20-25%. But I leverage the game’s fast pace to jump in and out of the fray, and the game’s reactive play to pop insps when in danger. So that must be the difference.
  13. I knew Bill was gypping me I just wasn’t smart enough to say why!
  14. Well this goes a long way towards explaining why you think I’m talking out of my ass about this game’s low difficulty. Apparently we play different games 🧐
  15. Improper inspiration usage will render so many easy things in this game difficult, it really is critical to being able to play the game well on every class instead of being limited to certain ones. No, inspiration usage does not need to be constant to be effective. You just have to know how to be quick and reactive.
  16. Well if a poor design yields one of the best and most popular sets in the game, what exactly is useful about your definition of good design?
  17. Because it is ludicrous. Those people simply don’t know how to play Poison.
  18. Umm I use them when needed. Preemptively if I think to but not all the time. My Poison/Ice uses Clarion, my Poison/Dark has RoP, my Elec/Poison has IW, but my other 3 Poisons have none of that I believe and they do fine. I don’t stress if VG drops now and then, it usually doesn’t but I know how to evade and survive if it does.
  19. You wouldn’t want to proc bomb Claws stuff because Claws has trash proc rates. Savage Leap is a different animal. How bout I leave the Claws and the DPS calcs to you and you leave the proc bomb submeta to me 😉
  20. Think you forgot to account for the other AoE’s and the fact that you’re less likely to spam something as soon as it’s available if they’re on very low recharge. I don’t have a solid picture of Savage by itself though because mine is a Rad/Savage/Fire tanker. Probably as much AoE damage as a /Fire Brute after all those proc bombed mini-nukes.
  21. My mac says F1/2/etc on buttons that primarily also change screen brightness, volume, etc. I actually have no earthly idea how to actually press “F1” tbh 🙂
  22. Sounds like a personal problem and not a Poison problem then 🙂 I click inspirations with my cursor btw. Refusing to use inspirations would render far too many AT’s busted to be a practical argument though.
  23. I *love* how many skippable powers Poison has (4-5 depending on AT). Having a fully functional build require such minimal slotting is a blessing not a curse. Your secondary/pool/epic power/slotting choices just got that much easier.
  24. Apples and oranges. No comparison to Claws one way or another. Sure it will never have Claws S/T power, but you’ll never have proc bomb Savage Leap levels of AoE damage. Shrug.
  25. Savage Melee is one where you can completely ignore the combo mechanic and still be extremely powerful though, so don’t get dislike of that type of mechanic. Literally just pretend it doesn’t exist.
