  1. Well, not quite true but close. Plant Control can aggro more than Masterminds. Also, can you comment on how the pets fare in the meteor map with just one MM? I don’t consider it super efficient if you’re talking about the guys loading up 2-3 MM’s. Tons of combos should wipe a meteor in no time, if it’s not solo it’s not particularly special imho.
  2. You forgot procs! Powers don’t need a damage component to do damage, what a silly notion 🙂 I’m curious what exact combos Mind Control detractors are using. Perhaps they just need pointers.
  3. Yeah the set would definitely make more sense if the PBAoE animation involved setting a boombox on the ground first.
  4. Scrapper is still ok because the snipes help with bosses too. But Stalker is definitely best. I missed the boat on it. Have an Elec/Shield Scrapper and now an Elec/Ice Stalker.
  5. Willing beneficiaries of violence =/= pacifists 🙂 think the exploration badge xp point is the only one that passes the smell test.

  9. You voiced a completely imaginary reason that doesn’t even exist outside of your self-defeating perceptions. Not very useful. You have absolute freedom to ignore combo mechanics, no ifs ands or buts.

Well, inevitably everyone relies on a mix of resistance and defense in the endgame, and I just don’t see WP or especially Bio “hurting” in a way that Dark, Electric, Rad, or Regen are not, so, *shrug*, what the hey, my $0.02. I agree with adding it to Bio Defensive either way just because who the heck wants to lose offense anyway. I don’t see why WP is “not impressive” in particular though.
  11. As already mentioned, Mind Control is firmly in the middle of the pack offense-wise, so this is misleading. It’s extremely obvious that 6-slotted Mass Confusion contributes better offense than the entire sets of Ice Control, Earth Control, and Gravity Control, at the very minimum. So we need to frame this honestly and not imply it has the worst offense.
  12. Since the set is so melee friendly it seems it would make sense to trade off some of the range in exchange for a dramatic increase in the arc. Like 30-40 ft range but 120-150 arc?
  13. Dunno man, I think your proposal is modest and reasonable, but if we lean any further into “DDR mandatory” thinking, we probably have to give every non-defense set some base DDR like 15-20% at that point.
  14. All I said was that you can’t realize your *full* potential on *any* character before IO’s and Incarnates. Which is just a simple fact. Poison is certainly no worse than all the other stuff that hasn’t realized its potential.
  15. I think the combo mechanic is plenty potent, and the buff/debuff values seem reasonably generous and easy to trigger; the set just needs to have animation or damage adjustments. To the later powers. Some long animations are fine, but not on *all* the later tier powers like Kinetic Melee. Giving Sky Splitter more damage to make its DPA reasonable would go a long way by itself. People tend to put up with long animations just fine if they feel reimbursed for their time.
  16. Sure. I don’t look at bad animations as a problem unless the set is hurting overall, so that’s where we disagree. The fact that the set has 3 solid ~1 second animation single target attacks to chain (basically Claws Lite) makes me go “meh” at any other issues. I am planning to just respec out of 1K Cuts next time I revisit though so you aren’t wrong about that specific power.

  18. I am just asking because I don’t consider the sizable resistance buff negligible. While I probably disagree with buffing DB at all, I’m with you on Staff sucking. As I’ve said many times, I max out all the sets indiscriminately. Staff isn’t as bad as Kinetic Melee but it’s a low ranking set for sure in my experiences with every single melee set.

  20. Yes, but be sure to add something offensive to the table like damage/recharge buffs or regen/res debuffs. Force Field is just a poor man’s sentinel once you join a team full of players that can survive perfectly well on their own. 😕
  21. What weight did you assign to Sky Splitter’s substantial buff when comparing powers side by side? I don’t know the math there, but I can logically guess that the effect of Staff’s buffs on the set’s lower damage is not zero.

  23. All I know about MSR is that it’s the only lengthy activity in the game where you’ll easily and frequently get kicked for going to the bathroom or tabbing out to pick some music. I don’t know how it goes on Excel because the typical Indom leader ruined the entire experience for me. I don’t know what it is about that content that lodges large sticks up asses, but I choose not to engage with it.
  24. I gave him a pass on that one because his other posts generally suggest knowing his way about the game 🙂 I am willing to assume this lapse in judgement resulted from a minor stroke, no fault of his own, and move on. As for you, go pop an inspiration 😄
