  1. What are the Werner Rules?
  2. I’m genuinely puzzled by all the comments about T5 pool powers. I like those on occasion just for variety (and I love Enflame so end up with Rune often) but I thought Speed/Leaping/Fighting/Leadership was still definitively the optimal meta. With Flight as the most popular alternative.
  3. Just note I haven’t (1) used SO’s, (2) fought Trapdoor or (3) booted up Test Server in probably 10 years, so this is not a negligible ask and I would have to get my bearings on a couple of things. I will agree to sign up for /regen and compromise on *EVENTUALLY* if organized testing is so deeply desired by everyone else.
  4. No, I hadn’t thought about it. My only excuse if I decide not to would be that I never test anything and as sweet as proving a point sounds, we’re still talking about a colossal waste of time. I’ll keep an eye out ok? But you people don’t own my god damn weekend. EDIT: wait I lied, I have done pylon “tests” before
  5. I’d consider making an SO alt build on my Ice/Regen brute when I feel like it. I don’t know what an SO build even looks like anymore, but it’s not like it’d be expensive.. I can’t make any new characters because I already told too many friends I promised to stop at 100 level 50’s.
  6. I don’t have a plan because I don’t spend my gaming time devising tests to prove a point on a forum. Laugh at the response all you want, but since you ARE something of a testing expert, perhaps you could give me a hand with that.
  7. I never do this on melee. I propose the first test be actually finishing your regen and playing it, to answer your question. Since we know that hasn’t happened yet.
  8. Oh ok, so your claim that Regen has the least mitigation was just completely erroneous and baseless. I thought perhaps there was some sort of logic behind it, like you’d taken the clicks out of the equation. I’m starting to think you should continue actually playing your new regen.
  9. Correct, ED only diminishes buffs from enhancements.
  10. Less toggle/auto mitigation. Yes, I agree. Less mitigation? Jury is still out from the looks of it. You are the only one here claiming that click mitigation isn’t mitigation. And no I don’t use any T5’s besides Cross Punch so you can drop that talking point.
  11. Oh bullshit, man, you’re still putting words in my mouth. In my experience the character is not gimped at all. You’re projecting your own ideas because apparently using click powers for survival means you’re a blaster. You seem intent on claiming you know exactly how my character plays, because you keep insisting that something must be deeply wrong with it no matter what experience I report.
  12. Yes, the main reason people use MoG more than other T9’s is because MoG doesn’t have a crash. And because it’s on a reliable short recharge timer. Other sets build under the premise that using their T9 would be a bad idea, and Regen and Scrapper/Stalker Ice Armor build under the premise that using their T9 is a fantastic idea.
  13. Ok fair and I think we’re done here but... I just want to point out that it’s very hard to take these specialized personal requirements too seriously when, while they may work for most other armor sets, they would render tons of other non-armor sets trash as well. And once a philosophy starts to suggest that too many of the sets are trash, we have to start wondering if we’re defining “trash” poorly. But we’ve been over this. I like to try sets and make every single one work, you like to min-max and reject everything that doesn’t meet your own high thresholds. You do you. But its your own exceptional but arbitrary standards that render things unplayable. I have proven ofc that they are playable under more relaxed standards.
  14. 1) Oh god CLICKS. You realize that’s not a critique of Regen but rather of most powersets in the game? 2) Again, I have supported every step of the way the addition of -recharge resistance for folks like you that aren’t IO’d with Ageless Radial. 3) I hadn’t thought of soloing a TF, but if you must have something from me, I will promise to kill some pylons at my very earliest convenience. Pylons will only measure the effectiveness of my attack chain (I believe it is Cross Punch -> Freezing Touch -> Gloom -> Ice Sword) though so no clue what that’s supposed to solve. I could certainly walk through a maxed out ITF solo for the mob killing. Idk how the Romi fight would go though. I have solo’d AV’s and stuff but it’s not something I do every day.
  15. I will remind everyone that I supported adding -recharge/-regen resistance the entire time. I know some would like to think I think all buffs are evil.
  16. Ok then. I acknowledge we aren’t looking at the same reality.
  17. If we’re looking at SO only builds, Regen isn’t even bad relatively speaking because tons of stuff is that bad and worse. I provided one example. Quick Recovery alone makes it top tier within SO play. So if you want to talk SO builds, I disagree even more that Regen needs help. If you want to acknowledge the role of IO’s and Incarnates and Inspirations on the other hand, I can refer you to previous posts. Also note the exact standard you’re referring to is SO’s *at +0x1*. If Regen is having trouble at that level, you’re doing it wrong.
  18. I already know that. You misunderstood if you think I meant slight tweaks to Regen would be too much power creep. My point was that a lot of sets, even high performing ones, would need buffs more than Regen if we are forced to look at them through the lens of no IO’s, and, as you acknowledge by stating the opposite, buffing the top sets IS power creep. Example: my Storm Summoning characters need no buffs. It’s a top tier set and you better not even try to buff it. BUT. If we are forced to negate the existence of IO’s and Incarnates and inspirations as Solarverse insists we must and all that good stuff, what you’re left with is a set that does insane knockback instead of knockdown... if it has enough endurance to use powers at all (it usually won’t). But we shouldn’t fix that because all those resources DO exist. IOW, looking at it through that lens isn’t helpful. We can’t pretend like people can’t patch up their builds with IO’s/Incarnates/Inspirations when they.. can.
  19. I didn’t know you were a satire poster 🙂
  20. Don’t skip anything except maybe Meltdown. Put 6 procs in Radiation Therapy and don’t question us on this 🙂 Put at least a couple procs in Ground Zero. Ultimately it should look about like: Radiation Therapy / Ground Zero / Particle Shielding = most likely 6 slots... everything else probably 2-4 slots, only one slot needed for Beta Decay.
  21. I can easily name powersets that are worse off than Regen for me. Because I reckon you think I’m just here to bat away proposals for buffs, I shall provide examples. Relative to my other 25-35 characters with armor sets, I find my Regen brute is pretty much right up there with the pack. Where I want it to be. Relative to my other 30-40 characters with support powersets, I will happily concede that my Force Field defender is a bit of a joke and contributes very little. I don’t remember what SO’s feel like but I bet they feel a little like playing a fully IO’d Force Field Defender. Relative to my other characters with melee attack sets, I find my Kinetic Melee tanker a bit anemic on the damage side, no doubt. Something about Sonic Blast feels like painfully slow trudging. Etc.

    Illu/?

I thought EMP Arrow ceased to be good at proccing when it was changed to LocAoE, but that’s just what I read. I always 6 proc Ice and Acid Arrow on every TA character.
  23. Cool? Ignore me “constantly giggling” at people with fewer powersets to play in the game because they falsely deem them unplayable? Your loss. For the record I never caught myself jumping through a single hoop. Thank you for correcting me.
  24. Ok, well tons of powersets are due for buffs with this logic. Another wave of power creep incoming. If I were to imagine the old pre-IO days, I would take Regen in a heartbeat over more sets than I care to name right now. So this argument actually hurts your case for me. To clarify - yes, I am claiming IO’s add less to Regen than they do to other things, meaning Regen would actually be even better in your world vs mine.
  25. I don’t have anything that isn’t fully IO’d, no... BUT... Also, everything in this game blows with SO’s, so how exactly that makes a difference is beyond me. If you require me to strip away my IO’s to provide a valuable judgement, I can think of tons of powersets that become worse than Regen under those conditions. My critiques come with IO’s. They’re cheap relative to gear in every other MMO I’ve played, and we all have access to them. Deal with it.
