I never stated it meant I should be able to solo everything. And at this point everybody has mentioned the other ways of getting them, this thread is five pages long. I have however stated that I don't care about the new currency. Right now all you can by with it is fancy costume stuff. There is room now for that to change though, and that is what concerns me. Glad I could make that clearer for you. If you'd like me to point back to the posts I've made about that already then I guess we'd both have our fingers out.

That's an old MMO philosophy that hasn't been strictly followed in decades. CoH has certainly never required grouping and there has been plenty added for the solo player. The HC Team has even gone back and removed the mechanics that made it require two or more people to run a TF or Trial. Then there is the Dark Astoria revamp that was literally a way for solo players to get Incarnate powers. Nothing the HC devs have done before has been designed to strictly funnel people into doing what the devs want us to do, which is HM content that doesn't even necessarily appeal to every group player.

It's not the slowest method by a far margin though. I just naturally level my characters and run content I want to run with them. I still manage to accumulate inf but truth be told if I scraped up all the INF I had I'd be sitting on about 35 million right now. I don't hold it and it's never been any earth-shaking amount because I've never needed any kind of earth-shaking amount. There are other avenues to getting what you want just by earning merits, drops, and inf from doing whatever content you want. PS Giant Monster Hunting Jinx! 😛

Not commenting about something is not the same as ignoring it and it doesn't make me dishonest. That's a poor and antagonistic attitude to take. Since you brought INF up though, I'm not sitting on billions and billions of it. It's a means to an end and not a goal of mine. I spend exactly zero minutes in the AE or anywhere else chasing it. I still manage to make builds that perform as good or better than anything else I see out there. I play this game the way I play it and that's entirely solo, other than when I volunteer to help someone finish a task when it comes up in the Help channel. I'm fine with how I play and also fine not chasing after something I don't need just because it is there.

If you have no interest in HM Content (which is kind of find funny, the community asked for it so they have to create a further enticement to get the community to run it?) then just getting the badges for the PAP system would take 7500 mission completions on average. 150 PAPs at a droprate of 2% or 1 in 50 missions. I'm sure I'll get there eventually but seeing it as a destination? Not moving me. It bothers me a little that we have a game were you can do and play just about anyway you want and do any content you want and be rewarded but now suddenly the Devs are trying to create funnels for the playerbase. If we are spread out running a variety of content then I see that as a good thing. It means none of that other content is irrelevant.

I may be one of the only people in existence with a Broadsword/Dark Armor Brute and she's one of my favorite vigilantes to play.

Hard pass on the mobile games. I play this one, not sure why you'd bother telling anyone to go elsewhere. Are they attempting to push the content or the rewards here? If the content is not compelling then attempting to further bloat the amount of currencies earnable is a stopgap measure. How many currencies do we need? Do we need Incarnate Shards and Incarnate Threads and Empyrean Merits and Notices of the Well? Things like that create a confusion of how do I earn what and where do I earn it. It's a trap that puts people off of games IMO.

I feel like it is and I gave my opinion. I'm not going to sit here and wrangle about whether my opinion is valid or not. find someone else to do that with.

I appreciate what we have here with the HC Team but this is a little condescending to players. Attempting to add currencies in order to get players to play more is the sort of thing for profit games do. This is not one of those. If the content you create is not compelling enough to get people to run it adding a new shiny to the treadmill doesn't look good IMO.

So far the show is growing on me and I hate shows where the characters look at or speak to the camera. I really enjoyed the way EP 3 ripped on the media. It was made-up but also very accurate at the same time.

NCSoft closed so many North American games though. It's not so much "never forgiven" as it is "never forget". I avoid them as a publisher, not that they have anything I'm really interested in anymore.

I know. That's why I'm free to speculate as to the cause. Seems pretty obvious to me though. Not enough whales playing CoH to make up for all the subs they lost.

NCSoft made the dumbest decision ever and that was deciding to go Free to Play and giving the game to the very people keeping it going with their subs. Incarnates being behind a paywall were not enough of a carrot to survive that. Having said that, I was thrilled to see the game return in any form. Thank you to those that made it happen.
