You and I have a very different definition of advantage versus disadvantage. Tornado and Bonfire keeping the target in its damage effect is an advantage to me. They can't fight back because of being bounced. And they stay in the effect that keeps bouncing them while taking damage from it? Yeah, I'm not going to say you're wrong because I'm sure you have your reasons. but I definitely do not see that as a disadvantage. That was not going to be my response. My response is above. I don't bother tracking xp/hour. I don't even track DPS. I've said repeatedly it is not about a single slot. You keep refusing to acknowledge my answers and keep focusing on a facet I have told you repeatedly it has nothing to do with. You're fixated. You don't even acknowledge what I say. I'm done bashing my brains out just to be ignored. I made my case. You chose to ignore it. What happens, happens.

My post on this did not actually post for some reason.... Anyway, long skirts would be a welcome addition. However, just so you know, this was brought up back on Live and the response was something like adding in the long skirts would require redoing all the animations. It is why the mobs with long skirts have only upper body attack animations. (Edit: And fly.) If this is not a problem and they can give players access to long skirts though? As I already said, it would be welcome.

Put timer on Brickstown World Event: Prison Break
Rudra replied to JeridCOH's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yep. Others have also asked for this in another thread. All for it. Something to unstick the stuck event would be welcome. -
The reason Overwhelming Force has the chance for KD is because it is a universal damage set. So it can be slotted into powers that don't do KB. So powers that do KB, Overwhelming Force converts it to KD. For powers that don't do KD, they now have a chance to do KD.

Just throwing this out there: Level Lock AE
Rudra replied to Sakura Tenshi's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
More variety to missions? Would be greatly appreciated. -
Not saying it wasn't. I was just amused that I actually did that for someone. I didn't say they were. I was just amused that I had actually done that for someone. I'm not arguing for or against this idea. I just saw a comment about what would be considered a potentially extreme argument and found it funny that I had done that for someone.

I was asked a question by the author. Was I supposed to ignore him/her? Edit: Also, note that I am not commenting on and have not commented on the OP. I had asked a question. The author asked me a question back. Are you against people having a civil discourse?

You're talking about going from a bean bag to a rubber bullet. Yep, it does.

🤣🤣🤣 I actually did that for someone! I teleported out to each and every explore badge, then teleported her to them! 🤣🤣🤣

Reduce the smashing damage and the Stun, then sure. And any KB effects would need to be reduced too.

It's not about the one slot. I said that in my previous response. It is about the free advantage on powers like Tornado and Bonfire. You don't get to improve powers like those for free. I love using Energy Blast. I love bouncing mobs around the place like a zero gravity ball pit gone crazy. I get that. I don't like it when I try to join a team and the reaction is I have to go because I am the dreaded Energy Blast. I could have sworn I basically already said that. So why you think I am against people being free to play like that is beyond me. I am against the free advantage on specific powers. I don't care if it saves 1 slot. I don't care if it saves 1 million slots. I don't care about the slots. I care about the fact this thread is effectively asking for a free advantage.

So ask for alternate animations for it. There's Energy Blast to go with Fire Manipulation. There's Energy Melee to go with Fiery Aura. It doesn't look right? Ask for alternate animations. Neither is Beam Rifle. That's what they did before VEATs were a thing, so yes, that would be my recommendation. I'm saying you can be creative and do what you are asking for. Welcome to the forums. Where people give feedback on the proposed suggestions. I'm sorry you think I'm simply being negative. I was trying to point out the ways the things you are asking for have already been done and the fact that you can also do them too.

You can already do all that. A shield using Warshade? Behold the Energy Melee/Shield Defense Scrapper, Tanker, or Brute! (Just color the energy melee attacks purplish black.) A fire-using Peacebringer? Behold the Fire Blast Blaster, Corruptor, or Sentinel! Or the Fire Melee Stalker, Scrapper, Tanker, or Brute if you prefer the fight to be in close. A Beam Rifle Soldier of Arachnos? Behold the Beam Rifle/Traps Corruptor or Beam Rifle/Devices Blaster! Use the special helmets option and pattern the armor after the Soldiers of Arachnos. An anything other than claws Widow? Behold the... uhm... pretty much anything.... This one is way easy since the helmet and suit patterns are already available. You just won't get the butt cape. A non-Kheldian with light attacks? Behold the Energy Blast Blaster, Corruptor, or Sentinel! Or the energy melee Scrapper, Stalker, Tanker, or Brute if you prefer a non-traditional melee approach. Thing is, you are asking for EATs to have their power sets proliferated to standard ATs. They're Epic ATs. They were never designed to conform to the standard AT rules. They were in fact designed to not follow the standard AT rules. The Kheldians seemingly to make the game harder unless you were on a team so the different ATs could buff your abilities, and the Soldiers of Arachnos and Widows of Arachnos to get stronger the more of them are on the team. So their power sets don't translate well to other ATs. As you have pointed out. Further, the powers to recreate them as non-EATs already exists. Before VEATs were introduced? Players were already playing Arachnos operatives. They used Assault Rifle and Traps for their Soldiers of Arachnos. They used any psionic character for the Fortunatas. They used Claws with I think Super Reflexes (or Ninjitsu) for the Blood Widows. They used any other power set they wanted if they wanted a non-conformist Arachnos agent. And players that didn't want to use Kheldian powers for their Kheldians? They made another character and called it a Kheldian. Either declaring that the Kheldian made the mistake of trying to take over an already super-powered individual who was able to keep the Kheldian from taking over and merging, the Kheldian using its power to bolster the character's innate abilities, or in some disturbing cases, mentally or spiritually devouring the Kheldian to further fuel their own powers. The options you want already exist. Making a non-standard Soldier of Arachnos is difficult because you have to approximate some of the costume pieces, but as was proven on Live before the VEATs were introduced, it is very much possible. And you even have access to the helmets (and Crab backpack) to help pull off the look.

On a team, you have 1-7 teammates also doing damage. So you're DPS is a lot less critical. Sorry, but your argument is losing me. I get you want a damage focused set that has a KB-KD convertor like Overwhelming Force. And I am not saying to not ask for that. Just saying that with this new awareness, Sudden Acceleration is actually a great set. It helps a KB player join even a KB-hating team, makes for great laughs bouncing the Big Bad with the increased chance of each and every attack knocking him/her down, and does not cause a major loss of DPS. (In my book.) That it is still not for you and others like you? Fine. It is still not for you and other players like you. Ask for the damage-focused KD set. I'm going to have a blast bouncing Big Bads, even when on a team, because I will now have the ability to ensure I can bounce them.

If my target can't hurt me, I don't need as much DPS. As I've said on multiple occasions. I'm fine with playing sub-optimal. As long as I have fun and my character rocks. And if the enemies can't even stand to fight? Then odds are, my character rocks and I am having a blast. (It's what made my Bane Spider so fun. Wolf Spider gun blasts until anything strong and fast enough can get in close. Then proceed to bounce the target in place like a manic basketball player dribbling, except with a mace. And try not to laugh so hard I stop being able to see the screen.) Edit: So basically, I agree to disagree.
-
But if increasing the magnitude of knockback on a knockdown power makes it possible to knock down a target that would otherwise have not been knocked down.... Yeah, I need to go hide my Sudden Acceleration thread. It makes a lot less sense to ask for that change now. Edit: If increasing the knockback magnitude on a knockdown attack makes it more likely I can bounce that boss/EB/AV/GM? Then all those knockback buffs in Sudden Acceleration become a lot more desirable to me. If they have to get up, they aren't ripping my face off.

This is getting off topic, but I don't read @Luminara's comment as that player leading the team. It reads more like a team member getting other players kicked for 'not playing right'. And if that player comes to the forums to gloat about it? Then yeah, I'm inclined to agree with @Luminara. And if I knew who that player was? Then even on those occasions where I feel like running around with others, I would avoid that player's team like plague. Regardless, it was an example to justify @Luminara's position. I don't know that player and don't know who that player is. If the thread deviates into arguing about that player and his/her antics/actions though? It is likely to get locked.

First, let me say you have very valid points. However, while compromise would be a good thing, here is why I am still not doing so. If the toggle were implemented, and it did not affect persistent KB powers (thank you by the way for that simpler way to phrase it), then immediately after there will be a push for the persistent KB powers to also be affected by the toggle. And it would be much harder to say no because now there would be a precedent for doing so. Which again brings me back to my other suggestion: tweak the set or create a new one. The biggest, and only complaint I've seen so far, about Sudden Acceleration is that it is an inferior set to the sets players would rather slot. As far as I can tell, no one is really complaining about the set bonuses, just the specific enhancement bonuses focusing so much attention on KB when the set is aimed at changing KB to KD. So I would rather visit that instead. Change the Sudden Acceleration set so that it does not focus on boosting KB. Let its specific enhancements replace the KB components with something else instead. The set bonuses would remain as is unless someone could give me a *very* good reason why those should be changed. It would still be a KB set, but the specific enhancement bonuses would be more useful since the set would no longer focus on boosting KB. (To change it to non-KB set would require a name change and change to the set bonuses to be more in line with the damage sets, most likely.) Or, we could come up with a new non-unique damage set similar to Overwhelming Force, but with weaker elements for being a non-unique. My point is, we already have the means of mitigating KB for those that don't want it. And this entire thread steps on the already provided means. There has to be a compromise, yes. I don't feel this is the way to achieve it. Especially for appeasing people that are so inherently against specific power sets that they can't even comprehend how KB players with at least 2 functioning brain cells not out to troll the team can help the team or at least not get in the team's way. (And yes, I get rather emotional about this. Because dealing with those players lights my fuse at the wrong end. They are one of many reasons I prefer to play solo. Sorry.)
