  1. I've asked the individuals commenting that Mercs still need a buff if they have tried it on beta yet a few times. (Edit: Or to at least give it a try.) Still no response.
  2. I was more thinking merit vendors for reward merits or P2W for inf'.
  3. This thread started as a rant because a desired change was not yet implemented. And this thread continues to get weirder. 🤣
  4. Yeah, and it does work. I'm just trying to avoid putting more into Null. Especially since selling things isn't really a Null thing.
  5. If these tokens were to ever exist, I'm inclined to say they are locked to that account that gets them. No being able to sell them on the AH/BM. This way a new player in the game has at least an incentive to play the game and experience the zones (or skip it through the ever available farms) and players that have been playing for a while can buy them with reward merits (which are readily available and fairly fast to accumulate).
  6. I only really know of 1 book, and it is a collection of short stories. Even at that, there is so much going on in those stories that are several different ways to approach building this set. And that is before you get into all the different takes on the stories you see and read about in other content. For instance, if the MM is considered human for the set, then the three personal powers should all be some sort of pistol and/or shotgun/rifle attack. Considering CoX itself however, I substituted negative energy blasts instead because that gives a basis for the cone tentacle attack. So hopefully what I threw together works for you. If not, tweak away.
  7. *shrug* Maybe the player is playing Mayor Morales. I can't imagine the mayor would be using any unique costume pieces.
  8. I hate CO, but there is a comparison. Before CoX came back and I was still playing CO, they did have a level up token. It took you up to level... I think 30? Not max level, but it skipped all the lower and some mid levels. And it didn't kill the game. However, it would have the same effect on CoX it had on CO. You wouldn't see anywhere near as many players in the lower level zones. So, Atlas Park would see new characters as they were made, and except for those of us willing to play through the zones, that would be it. King's Row would be empty. Talos Island would be empty. So forth. I know that PL'ing already has that effect, and I can't say this would make it any worse such that even Pocket D's AE might be empty. It's just a consideration.
  9. Agreed. And that was part of a previous response I had. Edit: There will always be people willing to try something if there is an incentive like instant fully developed character. I don't think anyone is arguing that. Edit again: I think my comments may be drifting into argument against this thread, and that is not my intent. So I apologize for the derailment.
  10. Well, part of it can be seen in the PvP zone populations. Edit: Another part can be seen by perusing some of the earlier PvP suggestion threads. Though some of the responses can be emphatic. Including my own.
  11. I can see a brief increase as players enticed by the instant fully developed character give it a try. That increase however, will likely be fleeting. And I'm willing to wager, not that noticeable. There have been multiple attempts to get more players to try PvP. Including throwing explore badges and a plaque required to complete the Swashbuckler lore badge when the PvP zones were initially launched. As you said though, most players I know actively avoid PvP and have no interest in trying it no matter the incentive. Though they have to risk and deal with PvP when they go for the badges in the PvP zones. In the end, the Temporal Warriors bit will most likely see use by current PvP players as a means to try out different builds against each other since they won't have to spend the time grinding for everything. And I'm willing to bet that will be the extent of it. I'm not a seer though, so who knows. Maybe it will entice PvE players to try PvP on a more routine basis. Even if not, it gives PvP players something new to try. Maybe even deviate from or create new FotMs I was used to hearing change regularly back on Live. However, its use as a reason for this thread is superfluous in my opinion. The line that the experienced PvP players will stay in RV while the less experienced ones go to BB, SC, or WB as 50s to practice? I don't see that happening. PvP players will go to the zone where they can find PvP.
  12. Was trying to find someone that would be fun to make a pitch for. Thought about Marcus Cole, but there is no way anyone would not recognize that name. So thought about Gideon Ray. Except there was no pitch I could come up with that would make him sound like a reasonable choice. Was hoping somehow people wouldn't recognize Stefan Richter. I should have known better. 😄
  13. My fellow Paragonians! As respectable as the Brawler may be, hasn't he earned a well-deserved rest? Today's needs and crises calls for a leader with vision! A leader with a firm grasp of the situation and the resolve to see difficult times through! Someone who knows what it means to lead! Someone who knows how to deal with the criminals in the city and teach them to fear his mighty reach! Vote for order! Vote for Stefan Richter for mayor of Paragon City!
  14. Wouldn't he automatically be the right alignment? When you enter a PvP zone, you can't talk to the enemy contact. You get droned.
  15. Going to have to disagree with that. Even if only barely used, they are still used. So they should stay PvP zones for the PvP'ers. Which would mean I agree with the leave them as is part though.
  16. Actually, I'm not surprised. I've been told on many occasions that PvP builds typically do terrible in PvE. I also understand that players can and do enjoy multiple aspects of the game. I'm not saying anyone is a single dimension player and only able to be lumped into one category. I suppose I just don't know how to ask correctly. Never mind. Edit: Given my typical timing, I need to point out this comment is in response to @Glacier Peak's response to me.
  17. This is something I don't understand and am hoping someone can explain to me: PvP players love PvP for the challenge. PvP players want more people to PvP. Check. Makes sense to me. PvP players get upset when the suggestion to remove the explore badges and lore badges from PvP zones are made because it takes away the incentive for PvE players to go into the zones to get them. Check, still makes sense. More players means more PvP. This is the part I don't understand: PvE players do not build for PvP and because of the way some powers change in PvP zones, are less of a threat to the PvP players than the zone mobs. So at least to me, this makes PvE players not a challenge. Would someone explain this to me?
  18. That already happens. Using Bloody Bay as example. At 15th level or so, the character is told about Bloody Bay and the PvP zones. They enter BB and are sidekicked up to 25. If there are any PvP players in zone, they are level 50 characters with full IO sets. So they have all their powers up to level 30 and all set bonuses that don't have minimums of higher than 25. So there is already a power disparity, both in powers, set bonuses, and enhancement bonuses. This proposal would admittedly make that imbalance more imbalanced though. *shrug*
  19. The lower level groups would need to have powers added/modified to be fighting as level 50-54 opposition. They can't just have their levels scaled up. The higher level groups would probably be fine just having their levels scaled up.
  20. Spectral Pirates and Shivans don't scale to 50. The Shivans range from 15-25 for example. I'm pretty sure the Warriors and Sky Raiders don't scale to 50 either. So at least those 4 groups would have to have mobs added or fixed to scale that high. And if the mobs aren't already scaled for the zone, they are no threat to the players. Those may be PvP zones, but the mobs in the zone are part of the challenge. Not saying this as argument. Just saying it will take time. For mob-less PvP, the arena is the only place I know that is intended for that.
  21. PvE players already get killed by dedicated PvP builds when they go into PvP zones. At least there is the illusion of competitiveness though. That level 25 character that just mopped the entire zone with my face? Was only a level 25 character. Even if actually a level 50 with all IOs already slotted. I'm pretty certain my opinion on this is going to be in the minority. PvP players will dictate what PvP zones are like. And since those zones are there for them, that's how it should be. Just giving my two cents worth.
  22. That's why we go into those zones....
  23. I'm going to say leave them as is. The Temporal Character instant level 50 bit won't affect PvE'ers going into the zones. At least with the level caps, it would be a slightly less one-sided fight. Edit: Or am I misunderstanding the Temporal Character bit?
  24. That was not my intent and I apologize for giving that impression.
  25. I'm not debating the forum. I'm just saying a fix is already being developed.
