  1. Are you kidding me? You're just trolling me, aren't you? The initial horse and carrot comment was a JOKE. That was why I included the laughing emoji I did. You said that was your intent, despite my comment being a joke. So I then clarified the JOKE you said was your intent into the original statement the joke was broken off of. If my JOKE is your take on how the game is supposed to work, especially a joke where the end result is the failure of the process (the carriage comes to a halt), then I felt there was a need to clarify the joke and the outcome. We the players, the merits, the inf'? It has nothing to do with a joke I made based on your carrot on short stick comment. As for which one is everyone misunderstanding on purpose? My response is YOU are on purpose misunderstanding my comments.
  2. Nope. Not a clue. (I'm being sarcastic by the way.) I don't believe I have to explain this, but here goes: When you have a horse-drawn carriage, such as is used for tourism at my home city, the driver has a carrot dangling from a line attached to a stick that (s)he holds out in front of the horse to motivate the horse to move forward. The horse sees the carrot, goes to eat it, and pulls the carriage forward trying to reach the carrot. The carrot is kept out of the horse's reach so the carriage keeps moving forward and the paying customers get a nice, leisurely tour of the sights. (Provided the horse doesn't smell that bad....) On the very rare occasion the horse actually manages to get the carrot, the carriage comes to a stop. And the carriage stays stopped until the driver is able to get the carrot away from the horse or is able to provide another incentive for the horse to move forward again. The one time I saw that happen, the carriage was stuck there partially blocking traffic because the horse would not move until another carriage arrived and provided the driver of the first carriage with a replacement carrot. There! Happy now?
  3. My point was that if you take my jest as your intent, then you are asking for the carriage, or game in this context, to stop moving forward. You are asking for it to come to a halt. My getting serious about my jest is to point out that letting the horse eat the carrot despite it being the means by which the carriage is driven is a ludicrous sentiment when it comes to the game. Your claim that letting the horse eat the carrot in my jest is the desired outcome despite the consequences is why I went back and finished the statement. And if your response to my jest was also in jest? You gave no indication for me or anyone else to take it as such.
  4. My comment was meant to be in jest. However, given your statement that my comment is your intent, then allow me to finish the statement. Carrot on short stick gets eaten by horse pulling carriage, so carriage stops moving. If that is your purpose, then you are asking for the game to come to halt. Using my jest as analogy, giving people something that is being used as enticement in a game outside of the intended enticement kills the purpose of the enticement. Enticements are there to get people moving, or to keep them playing in this case.
  5. Carrot on short stick gets eaten by horse pulling carriage. 😄
  6. (S)he's figured it out! Reset the Matrix!!!! 😜
  7. So since TyrantBux are gone, take away the last remaining incentive? I disagree with that sentiment.
  8. Think it was done to encourage more players to play red side. And seeing the ghost town red side often is while I am playing, I can see the point of doing that.
  9. From the previous time this was brought up, it seems like it is a desire to have the Frenzy power regardless of alignment. Just my perception of this from the last thread that covered this.
  10. So from 99% to 90% now. All I am asking for, is where you are getting these numbers from. Aside from your perception of the state of things.
  11. Define "extreme amount". I'm disinclined to argue over subjectives. What you may consider to be an extreme number I may consider to be normal. Please provide actual from the game data if you can. Would be helpful.
  12. That is your perception of players in this game. I see as many posts about people wanting to play low and mid game content as I see people wanting to skip it. So your statement is again either false, misleading, or hyperbole. Edit: Also, what does wanting to play Market Crash without 7 other people going off to do their own thing have to do with getting rid of or retaining Reward Merits and PAPs?
  13. What else did I miss? If you can help me improve my grammar, that would be appreciated.
  14. I fail to see how I contradicted myself. I posed a question: If 99% of the players want to skip the game, then why are they playing? Then I went into my statement: Since they are playing, I'm willing to bet they don't want to skip the game. That is a questioning of your statement followed by a refutal of your statement. So what is the contradiction? Acknowledging that there are parts of the game that some may wish to avoid, depending on that player's preferences, is not the same thing as saying those players want to skip the game. That is like saying 99% of the people that go to the state fair want to skip the state fair when they simply wish to not partake of one or more elements. They are still going to the state fair, so they obviously don't want to skip it, so the statement is either false, misleading, or hyperbole. Same with this game. Those players that you say want to skip the game are playing the game. Hence, they don't want to skip the game. They just don't want to deal with specific elements of it.
  15. Don't take this the wrong way, but if 99% of the players want to skip the game, then why are they playing? Since they are playing, I'm willing to bet they don't want to skip the game. There are parts of the game players want to skip, which parts depends on the player, but not skip the game. I'm also willing to bet the 99% is hyperbole. And players wanting to skip the game has nothing to do with Reward Merits and PAPs.
  16. This was done previously. Or the xp gain was. Maybe both? Regardless, it resulted in players being upset that AE was available and they were making story arcs, but noone was playing them because there was no reward incentive. So it was equalized to dev story content. Of course, it looks like AE is only used for farming, so that may no longer be relevant. However, I still hold out hope that players may actually try my AE content and hopefully enjoy it. And taking away inf' gains by implementing a 75-90% reduction guarantees my AE content will never see player use. Same thing with also increasing the inf' gains on SF/TFs, trials, Mayhems/Safeguards, and dev story arcs. So you are in effect asking for AE to wither and die except for any hardcore player content fan players out there. I get that is not your intent, but that is the gist of the request when you get down to player involvement in content. Edit: As for getting rid of Reward merits and PAPs? I oppose that because it is easier for my characters to get 100 Reward Merits as they level than it is for them to get 8,000,000-10,000,000 inf' for an ATO. And getting the Reward merits for doing arcs as they level is better to me than farming end game content for the inf' I need to equip my lowbies.
  17. I've never done an instanced MSR, so I wouldn't know about people going AFK on those. Regardless, where is the harm in people sitting AFK while a league forms? They aren't being asked to take down mobs or click glowies or escort NPCs or do anything else productive. If they don't want to insert themselves into others' chats just to avoid being AFK, that is their choice. If they don't want to risk annoying people by spamming some powers that knock other characters out of their emotes, that is their choice. Not every AT power set has a power that can fired off without a target to avoid going AFK, and some of those that can upset their fellow idle players who are trying to maintain an emote as part of their roleplaying or entertainment. And not everyone wants to move their character around in place just to avoid being AFK while waiting for the league to finally finish forming. The only time a person being AFK is detrimental to a team or league is when the team or league is actively doing something and the AFK individual(s) is/are not helping. So who cares if I or anyone else sits AFK on a league waiting for the league task to actually start? And if the league starts and we still don't move? We may actually be AFK and using the restroom. Give us a few to get back, go "Crap! They launched!", and hurry to catch up in a panic. Just because a player shows AFK does not mean the player is trying to leech. Let people be AFK in peace. Watch for leechers and drop them, sure. Otherwise, just let players AFK in peace.
  18. Then ask the question. Re-posting the entire previous post to add a question at the end disincetivizes me from reading the post. Horus is not in the game because he died. His Kheldian was free to find a new host.
  19. Unless you go into something with the agreement that individuals doing that something with you are not expected to actually do anything, having others that join and do nothing is a rather frustrating feeling. That frustration tends to put a damper on the fun those participating feel in a game like this. So those that go AFK and do nothing when the league they join starts their task saps the enjoyment of some who are actually participating. I know I've felt that frustration, and that is what I am basing this post on. However, to me at least, that only kicks in after the league is formed and the task started.
  20. I would like this. I would really like this. My MM levels up and the pets auto-level up too so I don't need to dismiss and re-summon? Great! My friend chooses a lower level Ouroboros mission and my pets don't just fall over dead waiting to be re-summoned? Great! However, I'm not sure this can be done. I'm led to believe this because of how pets function when you are sidekicked up. They don't fall over dead, they just stay their previous lower level. So it seems to me, and this is strictly my perception, that once the pets are summoned, they are no longer directly linked to the player character for level. So when we exemplar down, all the pets are dismissed to avoid having level 50 pets running around a say level 9 mission. If this can be done? Great! I would really like to have it. I'm just not sure it can be. Would a dev mind replying to let us know if this is even possible? Would be appreciated.
  21. I disagree. So I'll just leave it at we disagree.
  22. You already made this post. Why are you re-posting the same thing?
  23. I'm still not a fan of this idea. Takes away one of the incentives for players to be any given alignment.
  24. I'd never use it, but I'm sure someone somewhere would. If only for the sheer hilarity. 😄
  25. Yeah, the wiki is great source of information, but the data on it has already been changed at least once. It was the first place I went to look up a reference for the OP though. The rest of the lore you have to glean from the comments made by NPCs in the game. Like there was talk somewhere of the Nictus attacking the Peacebringers; feeding off them and using them as living batteries as part of a war. Like how Twilight Son says The Coming Storm does to his race, except that it is other Kheldians (the Nictus). Either way, a new type of Kheldian could be interesting. No opposition from me on that. It's just the lore as provided by the wiki and the in-game comments that leads me to think the background of the... what the hell do we call these? ... makes me think they will need a different approach lore-wise to be added.
