  3. You're not alone. I have a necro/dark that I would like to continue to play, but can't because of this. I don't know how to change the sound files or anything. So if I play Necro, I have to remember to turn the volume all the way down when entering/exiting missions. It's why I don't play Necro 🤬😢

  5. I really enjoy my water/tactical arrow. Theme is a pirate. Good defenses, good controls, and oil slick arrow can be lit with steam spray for extra damage.
  6. Howdy! Long time player here (Issue2), and am still so excited to have our beloved City back. Thanks for that! Anyway, in game I hardly ever see any other FF toons (the occasional Bots/FF MM maybe)... Looking at some of the mechanics at work these days, and to try and improve the population of the set, I have a couple of suggestions. Forgive me if they've been submitted already (didn't see any suggestions for FF on the first several pages of the forum). How about adding a little something extra to the Shields? Perhaps like a certain % of Absorption to Deflection/Insulation Shield, and maybe a little +DDR to Dispersion bubble? As it is now, Force Fielders are viewed as a one trick pony (added Defense). While most people plan out their builds and slot strategically to get soft capped/near soft capped Defenses already, it seems like the Defense FF brings is considered a "waste". Actually had someone tell me that FF was useless since they were already soft capped without my help. Was just trying to figure out something that might add a little incentive to play FF, and to get a little bit of "respect" for the powerset. Thanks and keep up the great work! - X

  8. Hello. My name....my name is Xandyr. And i..I... I. I play Mercs. But not just one Merc MM. But several. What? Why do I hate myself? Why do you ask that. Do you think I hate myself for playing different combinations of Mercs? Well, that's a valid point, but anyway... So...uhm, yeah. I've played Mercs with FF, Thermal, Pain, Storm, and Nature. What? A glutton for punishment? Me? Well... In all honesty, I had FUN with Mercs paired with Pain, Storm, and Nature. My favorite would be a toss up between Pain and Nature. Both help survivability of your pets and team. I really like the Absorb and +damage from Nature. Mercs get a bad name...they really do. And, it's pretty much deserved. They are the LOWEST damaging MM Primary. Any damage boost from whatever secondary you choose will make you think "WOW! MY PETS ARE FREAKIN' PWNING THESE GUYS NOW!!!". HOWEVER, that damage boost literally just brings their damage up to almost equal to all the other primaries. Seriously. One thing that Mercs DO have going for them is Cascading Defense Failure. What's this? Well, pretty much almost all of your Tier 1 Soldiers' attacks do -Defense debuff. And What's so great about Defense debuffs? You can slot Achilles Heel:Chance for -Resistance. Now, with this slotted, you're pretty much guaranteed to always debuff your enemies' Defense AND their Resistance! If you're fighting a really tough opponent, over a little bit of time your Soldiers will floor the enemy's Defense AND put a decent Dent in their Resistance. Couple that with your Interface of your liking, and even though your teammates won't say anything, YOU will know that you actually helped and contributed tons. (at least tell yourself that so you feel better about your picks). Plus, seeing all those brass shells littered all over the place is just cool. It screams " MERICA!"
  9. I was actually playing around in Mids with sonic/Bio. Seems like the extra -resist from Sonic combined with the damage boost from Bio would make a pretty sweet Sentinel. How's it playing?
  10. I second this. Mercs/Nature is very fun, and even better on a team.
  11. Staff is fun. It has TONS of AoE, so you'll see LOTS and LOTS of orange numbers flying. As mentioned before, Guarded Spin, Innocuous Strikes, and Eye of the Storm are MUST haves. I have numerous Staff tanks and brutes. I really enjoy it.

  13. I haven't played SS, so I don't know much about it. If I were building a Bio/SS for myself, this is how I would probably do it. I do not factor in ANY Accolades, Incarnate powers, etc when I build my toons. I try to build them the best I can, and see Accolades/Incarnates as just icing on the cake, In OFFENSIVE, this would give you capped F/C/E/N.E defenses AND capped Melee Defense. Two stacks of the Tanker ATO would give you capped S/L Resists (with only 1 mob in range fueling Evolving Armor. HP is 2454, and base Regen rate is 36 HP/Sec. Ablative is 3 seconds off of being perma. When active, it'll boost your Regen to 51 HP/Sec. Hitting 2 mobs with DNA Siphon and Parasitic boosts your Regen to 71 HP/Sec....of course we know that you'll have more than that around you 😉 I would boost the 2 Recharge Reductions in Hasten to +5. That *might* get Hasten perma or near perma....which also would let you stack Rage (again....I don't know much about SS). If for whatever reason you found yourself in trouble, switch to DEFENSIVE and enjoy your capped Defenses to all but Psi,Ranged, and AoE. As far as Incarnate, Ageless Radial is almost a MUST...otherwise you have 0 DDR. I chose Soul Mastery because having an awesome Ranged attack is always nice, and Darkest Night is great.   16. Hey all! So, I want another MM, and am having trouble trying to decide. Demon/Nature Demon/EA Beast/Nature Maybe Robots/something I tend to lean towards a primary that has a "mule" power to slot the Pet IOs (+defense, + resist). This is one reason why I steer away from Bots, even though everyone talks about how much AoE damage they do. Between Demon/ Nature and Demon/EA, which do you think is the most survivable, and could take down an AV easier? I do like the Concept of Beasts, and like their crit potential. However, I'd have to figure out slotting to fit in the unique pet IOs, which could cut into their accy/dam/end reduction. I think Nature would be a good pairing...they already have decent defense, and Nature would back them up with some resists and heals. Also, they seem to have decent defense, and Nature would give them some pretty good resists, which, in theory, would make them pretty survivable and sturdy. If I go with Bots, I'm not sure what to pair them with. I don't want FF, traps, or Sonic as I think those sets are a little boring...at least to me. So, what's recommended by all you MM Gurus?
  17. Stone armor is just...cheating I believe. I did NOT take Granite, and here's my (in-game) stats: DEFENSE S/L 51.1% F/C 45.05% E/N.E 48.07% PSI 47.05% Toxic 12.94% RESISTS S/L 54.48% F/C 72.25% E/N.E 25.56% PSI 8% Toxic 42.69% I say "in game" stats because when I played in Mids, it had my Psi defense at like 47% with just 2 slots in Minerals. IN GAME, with 2 slots in Minerals, my Psi defense was 42% (IIRC). So, I respecced, added a 3rd slot to Minerals, to get it over the soft cap. With NO Accolades/Temps/Incarnates/etc etc my Max HP is 1830.97 Regen Rate (obviously with Rooted on) 42.61 hp/sec With Earth's Embrace my max HP is 2573.70 Regen rate is 59.89 hp/sec Recovery Rate is 3.92 end/sec. DB feels....well, it does feel weak a little. There is NO comparison between DB and Rad. That's a very unfair comparison. HOWEVER, DB is flashy. It's stylish, it's quick, and has a good range. It almost feels like Staff....you hit a LOT of baddies around you, you see LOTS of DoTs, but it takes a while to whittle them down. I feel like it's advantage is the quick recharge, quick attacks, and AoE. Blinding Feint is nice. My rotation was BF>Sweeping Strike>1000 Cuts>BF>Sweeping Strike<Nimble Slash>Ablating Strike<Typhoon's Edge repeat. I'm not one that researches and adds up animation time, damage, damage per activation, etc etc. I take powers that I want/like/need for IOs and make the most of it. This combo, while probably isn't the absolute "best", works for me. It just....flows right. Blinding Feint gives you a 10% To hit bonus and a 30% damage boost for 10 seconds. While it doesn't sound like much, every little bit helps. By using the above attack chain, I was using the "Weaken" combo, which lowers enemies' To Hit (by 10%) and their Defense (by same amount...if I'm wrong on these values please correct me). I never had a problem with my accuracy, and like I said, this attack chain just flowed perfectly. I had a concept for this toon, and it works. Is it the most damaging? No. Is it fun? Yep.     Anyone care to share how to exactly slot Invuln to make it such a great tank or brute? I've fiddled in mids, and can't seem to get all resists capped.
  19. I've made a DB/Stone brute. For one, I've never done DB, and Two, I had a concept. I'm a little discouraged because you're basically saying it's weak. Oh well, I will level and IO this thing out, bc, like I said, I had a concept and want it to work I also have not played Savage. That set is next on my list, but not sure I'll pair it with Stone (bc of the DB/Stone). Maybe Energy Aura. I'll have to ponder... But first, gotta get the DB/Stone done first.
  20. If "theme" is important, and you don't necessarily want Ice Armor, you could roll Shield and take the ice elemental shield. That's what I did...Shield/Ice Melee.
  21. Ice is the undisputed king of being an aggro magnet. Nobody will steal your aggro. Noone. Period. Chilling Embrace (which pulses twice as much as any other damage aura) and Icicles make SURE you get,and keep, all the aggro. Ice is defense. Depending on your secondary, you *might* be able to squeeze enough Winter Sets to cap your Fire defenses. The resists are so so. But you usually won't get hit. And when you do, you have a nice heal. Energy absorption adds defense and end, so endurance shouldn't be a problem. I say go for it. I enjoyed my Ice tank.
  22. Usually MMs that take Provoke keep their pets in bodyguard. By doing so, they will Provoke(aka Taunt) and try to get the aggro off of pets. Being 8n bodyguard mode, the damage I'd spread out between you and ALL your pets...thus helping you and your pets survive. And depending on your secondary and what IO bonuses you chased, it's possible for you to have capped or near capped defenses, and some resist. So whatever damage actually hits you, after factoring in your defense and resistance, that's what is spread out between you and your pets.
