  2. Ok, I really don't know what your goals are. On mine, I pushed for as much Defense, Max HP, and Regen as I could. Here's my build for comparison. I really don't think you need Strength of Will or Resurgence. Once I hit 50 and slotted everything the way I wanted, the only time I've died is when I was solo'ing the Market Crash ( last AV...not much you can do there unless you have a reliable absorb shield...ie Rad or Bio). The slotting I went with gives me 49% Defense to Lethal (with 1 hit from Guarded Spin), 47% to F/C, 45% to E/NE, and 45% Melee. I have 3,033 HP, and with 1 foe near me, I regen 99.28 HP/Sec. A fully saturated RttC nets me 155.36 HP/Sec. Innocuous Strikes is a really good power. It has a decent cone and does decent damage, especially with the Armageddon: Chance for Fire Damage in it. It procs just about every time I use it. Also, Serpent's Reach is pretty good damaging power as well. It's ranged, which is nice. My typical rotation is Guarded Spin, Innocuous, Sky Splitter, Serpent's, Innocuous, then Eye Of the Storm. I am ALWAYS in Form of the Body. With each Perfection level, you get a small damage boost. At Level 3, when you use EotS, you "slightly reduce enemies' damage resistance". That's why I use EotS after I have built up 3 levels of Perfection. I don't know the exact percentage that you lower enemies' resistance with that, but any little bit helps. I used to have Hasten in my build, and tried it without. My attack powers recharge quick enough as to have an uninterrupted attack chain. I really think that you could drop it and pick up something else ( Innocuous ?) and drop Resurgence and Strength of Will for Serpent's and pick up Tactics or Assault. You won't need Quick Recovery 6 slotted, and don't need Taunt 6 slotted...just my own opinion. On mine, I can run all my toggles, including Focused Accuracy, and never really worry about my Endurance. If I'm in a LOOOONG drawn out battle ( like fire farming and I've got mob after mob after mob turning corners and I'm attacking non stop for 5-10 mins, then I *might* turn off Focused Accuracy, but usually I don't). I am intrigued by you slotting Fury of the Gladiator : Chance for Resistance Debuff.....I never really even thought of that because I was looking at increasing my Defenses, HP, and Regen. I may play around and see if I can fit that in there somewhere. I know you said you had access Mu/Mace patron pools....and the extra damage would be nice, but, like you, I went Energy for Physical Perfection....it goes with WP like Peanut Butter goes with Jelly. Anyway, here's my build. I've always like having a Damage Aura on my Tanks, but decided to give WP a try , and wanted to try a more "natural" concept with Staff. I write off his travel power as having a rich benefactor developing powered boots that help him leap tall buildings in a single bound. Other than that, I tried staying as "Natural" as I could. It's proven to be a very sturdy reliable tank, and is really fun. 3. I'm not able to pull your build up ATM, but just looking, heres a couple of thoughts. Unless you REALLY want the set bonuses from all those Performance Shifters, that's WAY overkill. You'll never use Conserve Power. Trust me. I took Focused Accuracy and slotted a couple of Adj Targeting in it ,and I can run it and never run out of end. Even with all my toggles. I 6 slotted RttC. Purpose for Taunt getting so many slots? If I recall, my WP/Staff has over 3k HP, and fully saturated RttC gets me over 160hp/sec (?). Again, I can't pull your build up (not at my PC) to exactly see your build/bonuses/stats. If I'm able to, I will tomorrow. I will say that WP/Staff has become one of my favorite tanks. It's fun!
  4. I never could figure out how to cap my resists with Invuln (WITHOUT using incarnate powers). My DA/MA tank is pretty much unkillable. Rad can be built to be very tough also, but you'll rely on heal/absorption to stay alive .

  6. I have a beast/cold, and I think I spent too much on her. To cut costs, you can slot your shields with just defense IOs. Full set of efficiency adaptor in heat loss is fairly inexpensive, plus gives you decent set bonuses. What powers did you take from Beasts?
  7. Hi and welcome to the City! I've played every MM primary (and I think each secondary also). Here's my .02 influence worth: Mercs Generally considered the "weakest". Mostly ranged damage, but have a few tricks up their sleeves. Have so-so resists. Beasts Mostly Melee. Can "crit" and have inherent defense. Can also heal themselves. Necro Zombies have inherent resists, and can dish out a lot of -to hit debuffs. Grave Knights can crit. Lich can help control and do -to hit. Pets can self heal. Bots Considered one of the strongest. Protector bot bubbles the other pets and you. Have inherent defense. Assault bot pumps out -regen which comes in handy against big game/tough opponents. Thugs Considered one of the strongest. Arsonist can crit. Enforcers have Leadership, making your pets more accurate, do more damage, and gives them a small boost to defense. Mostly ranged, except for the Bruiser. He's a mini Brute...builds Fury so over time he does more damage. He typically stays in melee, which is where he needs to be. Demons Again, another top tier. Can apply resist shields to pets, and heal pets. Their attacks lower enemy resists. The top tier pet has controls and slows. Ninjas Fragile, but can pump out some damage. Have inherent defense, and can crit. The Oni is like a mini fire blaster. There are some enhancements that can give your pets a bonus to defense and others that give a bonus to resistance for your pets. Typically, the "best/easiest" pets to slot these in are Thugs,Necro, and Demons. These pets have what some players call a "mule" power selection. Thugs have Gang War, Demons have Hell On Earth, and Necro has Souk Extraction. These powers can accept these enhancements, leaving you to slot your actually pets with Accuracy, Damage, End Reduction, etc. Beasts,Mercs, Bots, Ninjas can slot the +pet defense/+pet resistance enhancements, but you will have to slot them in your actual pet powers, so your pets will lose some Accuracy, damage, end Reduction. (Hopefully that made sense). Unless I am going strictly for a concept, I try to pick a secondary that compliments my primary. For example, Thugs have inherent defense (plus Enforcers give defense), so I made a Thugs/Cold. Cold let's you give your pets and teams defense based shields. My Thugs all have soft capped defense (45% defense). Typically, Time and Dark are the "best" secondaries. Time has controls, heals, -regen,defense. Dark has heals, controls, -regen, -resistance, and you get Dark Servant...which heals, controls, and pumps out more -to hit. Cold...defense based heals, -to hit, -regen, +end recovery, -defense. Thermal.. resistance based shields, heals, -resistance, -defense. Empathy..Heals. Pain.. Heals, +regen, + resist Force Field...defense based shields Electrical Affinity...+ resist, + end, + absorb, heals Trick Arrow....lots of debuffs. Oil Slick also does good damage as long as you can ignite it Storm...lots of damage. One single target heal. +resist, +defense Kinetics... heal, + end, speed boost teammates and pets, adds a ton of damage with Fulcrum Shift. Teams will love you for speed boost and Fulcrum. Poison...no experience. Can't comment Nature...very very little experience with Nature. Can't comment I highly suggest reading towards the top of this forum about Number keybinds. Having macros/keybinds will help control your pets. I'm on Excelsior ( global name Scarlett Angel . My other global is Will Killum). Feel free to message and I'll team up with you, help earn influence, or offer more advice or whatever. Last but not least, play whatever you think is fun or play what you have as a concept. One of my most favorite MMs is my Mercs/Pain. It's considered the weakest, but I have fun with it. My Beast/Time is a POWERHOUSE, and my Demon/Electric is extremely sturdy. Welcome to the City! X
  8. And what am I doing wrong that when I try to export a build, that link posts, instead of how Werner's showed up?
  9. Yeah you're right @Werner...nothing ever translates exactly haha. I studied your build for a while, and then came up with this. Anyone care to comment? Appreciate it! 10. I've been tinkering with Mids building a Shield/WM tank, and your resists are higher than what I've come up with. Care to message me your build? Here's mine (with Cardiac Core). Oh, I just noticed that for some reason, the +6.7% Resistance from SMotT isn't showing up for some reason...so add 6.7 to all my resists.
  11. So, IRL I wanted to be a cop. Since I couldn't be one , I figured the next best thing would to play a cop on our beloved game! Obviously I'm gonna go with WM do I can choose the Police Baton as my weapon. I'm trying to decide a few things, and was hoping to get some input. 1) Would this toon be better off as a Tank, a Brute, or a Scrapper? 2) Willpower, Shield, and (to an extent) Invuln would work . I can't decide on which would "fit" better, and make the toon more enjoyable. With Shield, I can choose the Swat Riot shield, so that'd be cool. Obviously ,regardless of AT, I could cap my defenses. With Shield though, resists typically suck tho, right? With WP, I can ( or almost) cap most typed defenses, and have have absurb regen (on a tank...dont know how it performs on a Brute or Scrap). And with Invuln I can cap typed defenses to most, have good resists (not capped except for S/L?) , and have a heal (again, on a tank. Dont know how it performs on a brute or scrap). So, help me decide Gurus. What AT and Powerset would perform "best" and why? Appreciate it! X
  12. I think I mainly 6 slotted to pick up set bonuses
  13. I'd have to look at mine when I get home, but you're right. DA/MA is extremely tough. Can build for pretty much capped resists(to most everything) and capped defenses. I 6 slotted death shroud. It'll help boost your damage output over time. I'll post my build later.
  14. On Live, you could click on the Information Center and it would show several different stats (like the Daily leader in streetsweeping "arrests"). Sometimes I would just streetsweep for hours just so I could see my name on that list. Has this been thought about being brought back?
  15. Hi all and thanks for taking your time to read this. I have a WP/Staff Tank, and he is as stout as they come. The massive HP, awesome regen #s, combined with soft capped F/C/E/N.E defenses means he just keeps going and going and going and.... Anyway, I have another "natural" concept and thought about trying a War Mace/Willpower brute. Obviously the HP won't be near as high, which also means the Regeneration won't be either. However, you should still be able to get respectable Defense #s and regeneration #s, right? And with all the stuns that WM can dish out, that means more time for your regeneration to kick in. Lately I've been on a WP kick with my tank. The one thing I don't like about it is not having a damage aura, as I really like having those ticks of damage. The only Brutes I play, like most every one, is my farmer. It's time to change that and actually play a Brute instead of just farming. So....anyone try this combo? Or have any insight to the powersets? Appreciate your time, thoughts, and feedback! -X
  16. I have an Ice/Electric/Ice tank. Capped typed defenses (except for Psy and Toxic) and without using Energy Absorption. His resists are46% S/L, 53 Fire,90 Cold, E/N.E/P/T 14%. His DDR is 51.9%. Chilling Embrace+ Icicles = all the aggro. I dual box, and I had my tank following my scrapper. Even as my scrapper was decimating everything in sight, noone ever attacked my scrapper bc my tank was taking all the aggro. With CE and Icicles, you don't need Taunt....it would be overkill. For most of the game, I haven't really noticed any drawbacks to my tank. Sure, he can't just stand in a Farm while you walk away, but if that's what you want, then roll something else. It's been a fun toon to play, even the few times I've died. Is he my sturdiest tank? Absolutely not. Is he a fun tank, absolutely. And in all honesty, that's all that matters....that I have fun and enjoy the game.
  17. You can build WP to have well over 3k HP, while regenerating almost 100hp/sec (with 1 mob to fuel RttC), AND while having soft capped typed defense to most. IMHO, the only downside to WP is not having a damage toggle. I LOVE having a damage toggle on my tanks. EM hits hard. VERY hard. Be prepared to excel at single target damage, but somewhat lack in AoE.
  18. Appreciate it @PLVRIZR . I tried to stay cheap, but man.,...those ATOs are so nice.
  19. Welcome. As you're aware, Bio is all about Max HP, + Regen, and recharge to get your heals back quicker. Getting your Typed Defenses to 45+% will REALLY help your survivability.
  20. Hopefully these will load for you. I quickly threw this together. I tried not to use any purples (except for the Tanker ATOs) , and tried to keep cost down. The build does have a few expensive IOs, but should still be within reach of your budget. This gives you capped Fire/Cold/Energy/N. Energy defenses while in OFFENSIVE mode. Ablative is 2 seconds off of Perma. Your BASE regen is 44.38 HP/Sec. With Ablative active, it jumps to 59.88 HP/Sec. With Ablative,DNS Siphon, and Parastic, it jumps to 71.42 HP/Sec ( only hitting one target). I tried to do a mix of everything for your bonuses.....HP, regen, damage, defense, etc etc. On my Bio/Rad, I focused on +HP, + Regen, and +Def. It really all depends on what you want to focus on as far as set bonuses. I will say Bio can be an absolute BEAST. I've jumped into a mob, hit Ablative, Parasitic, and DNA Siphon, and my regen has hit for 225 HP/Sec. Tack on being in OFFENSIVE mode , AND Capped Fire/Cold/Energy/N. Energy defenses with decent S/L Resists....and well....it's pretty damn hard to die with those numbers. Bio doesn't have any Defense Debuff Resistance, so look into Incarnate Powers to potentially fill in that hole. I stay in Offensive mode about 98% of the time. The other 2% I'm in Defensive because I'm trying something new/pushing myself to the limits/or doing something totally stupid. Bio/Spines *should* be a fun tank that pumps out pretty good damage. Two damage toggles really adds up the damage output. I did not pick up taunt in this build. Your 2 damage toggles, coupled with attacking, should be able to hold aggro. There are some players out there that will try to crucify you for not taking Taunt. As fast paced as the game has become, Mobs are destroyed before you really have to worry about Taunting everything. You'll be fine without Taunt. I'm on Excelsior (global name Scarlett Angel). 21. I've not played Regen since like issue 3. Of course, I know the set has been revamped since, especially for the Sentinel. It looks like your absorb effectively doubles your HP? How does Regen perform on the Sentinel? I'm kinda looking forward to leveling it up, slotting it out, and seeing how effective and fun this combo might be. Or will I be wasting time?
  22. Nevermind. Just tested on my MM and can confirm it works. Thanks!
  23. If the point is to just farm/make influence, why not double or triple up on Thugs? The Enforcers' buffs should affect all pets.
