  1. In my experience, if you're going to keep the power activated at all times, Speed of Sound is vastly superior to Super Speed once you've bound Jaunt to your target. Configured that way, you can tab into the next mob and appear there instantly without taking a huge hit to Fury... makes farming that much faster. Got a teammate who's run too far ahead of the group and taking a beating? Click on them from the team window, and poof, you're there with them. AV running loose? Jaunt to them. Simply put, if I roll a character with even one significant PBAoE, they're getting Speed of Sound. SoS comes in at level 4, Hasten comes in at level 14. No sacrifices need to be made.
  2. Thanks for posting this; I have a Mind/Psi/Psi and it's proven to be one of the most difficult builds to finalize, always having to rob slots from something to put in a priority spot, only to rob something else to backfill... I think I'll give yours a spin because I'm seriously stuck on this thing.
  3. I really don't like the Force of Will pool but I needed it on Full Recharge (Fire/Storm/Primal controller) which is stuffed full of Force Feedback +Recharge procs... speaking of, it would be great if Mighty Leap took KB enhancements. But I digress... Weaken Resolve is nice for finishing off a boss that's still lingering around well after all their subordinates have been gassed; it kind of plays into the recovery scheme I need on a character that's frequently waay above 300% recharge - just throw Weaken Resolve at them, and let the pseudopets finish the job while I take a breather.
  4. Some might argue that having to keep Speed of Sound on at all times to make full use of Jaunt would be a negative, but not me. I zip everywhere, then poof! Now I'm over here, wrecking stuff. If a character has any reason to be in melee, I go straight to SoS/Jaunt.
  5. I am super old, and I use Discord to organize matches/events in other games, but for whatever reason (see: every other reply in this thread) it's been a non-starter in CoH. It's a shame, too, because Discord is pretty simple to use and I've <almost> never been left hanging around waiting for people to show up in other games. There ARE people who use Discord for voice chat, and that works out pretty well, I mean, for voice chat.
  6. I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if 632 voices suddenly cried out in terror and were silenced.
  7. I didn't think I would like it, but I have a lot of fun with my SS/Elec Brute. It's a 'roomy' build because there's skippable stuff on both sides, and it's sturdier than I expected.
  8. Confirmed, Fire/TA is fairly awesome; biggest problem is fitting all that power into one build. In theory you can proc it to the gills, but I favor going for Ranged Def bonuses as all the AoEs with their DoT tend to draw some heat back towards you.
  9. For ranged AoE meltation, I prefer a Fire/TA Corruptor. So many "Scourge!" messages! Almost 100% ranged (except the dang PBAoE nuke), slinging AoE Fire all over the place, along with some decent ST fire, a truckload of debuffs to lay out while you're waiting for OSA to recharge, opportunities for very high ranged Def via IOs, then, to top it all off, a Dollar Tree Clarion in EMP Arrow.
  10. They should stop awarding inf and xp altogether, and convert all rewards to audio signals. Or shitcan farming, that makes as much sense.
  11. Meanwhile, literally the only thing that I've done in COH in the last two months is log on occasionally to do an MSR, and the primary reason is because I find them to be pretty fun. On Indom.
  12. I wish I could agree with you, but I just rescued a 50MB PATA drive over New Year's. But, that was attached to a massive industrial welder, not a gaming rig.
  13. And if you forget to use the switch, you can use /maxinactivefps 1 on the sitter; doesn't reduce resource load to 0 but it drastically reduces the GPU load.
  14. Gentlemen, there's no fighting in the War Room! ETA: I may be conflating the War Room comment with it's cousin, "Gentlemen, rest your sphincters." While it's true not EVERY computer can run HC, the hardware that WILL run it is ubiquitous enough that we shouldn't have to make special note of the hardware that can't. You'll know if your shit can't deal.
  15. To be fair, HC is 64-bit now, so people running a Cyrix proc on an EP-MVP3G-M may experience trouble launching the game.
  16. I've got a lot of "support" characters that fit the bill, but I think the most-fitting in this case would be my Rad/Rad/Dark Corruptor. Just wanders into melee, stuns/holds everything, debuffs them to hell, amps up its own damage, goes nuclear, lots of Scourge messages pop up, then on to the next. Really, any x/Rad/Dark would do the trick, I think, but the extra PBAoE in Irradiate is what I was after on this one. Next I want to try a Seismic/Rad/Dark so I can add KD to the list of miseries visited upon the hapless jerks I encounter. ETA: I sincerely hope calling NPC villains 'hapless jerks' doesn't offend anyone in the community.
  17. Annnd that's why I said the devs should consider consolidating the shards while they still have enough bandwidth to attempt it. Any idiot can shut off a server, or, log onto one for that matter.
  18. That just means it shipped from 'Murca.
  19. They DO run the MSR on Excel and there's nothing objectionable about the way whoever does it there DOES it, but they don't start on Pylon 17 or speculate what flavor the shield is or point out the taco or know what I'm talking about when I raise questions about lizard breasts 13 months later.
  20. If that's the case, the remaining devs should consider consolidating the shards while they still have enough bandwidth to attempt it and the community is still large enough to survive the exodus of the butthurt. I imagine that consolidation would also prevent casual players from wandering into the wastelands and wrongly assuming the game is abandoned, and, having less shards to pay for would make it easier for the remaining players to meet the monthly donation goals. ETA: I mean, I routinely run into more players in AP on Brainstorm than I do on Indom. That's not great.
  21. I don't think server population was a huge factor in the changes to the MSR schedule on Indom; the same core of people were running two raids a night, every night (holidays included) for almost 2 years before dialing it back some. It's just a shame because they've pretty much got the MSR down to a science; I'd love to see what a 48-wide league could do if run like it is on Indom these days.

    Mind/???

True, it's only a Mag 0.67 KD, but it seems I was still knocking all the street-level stuff everywhere once I got my level shift so I slotted the KB:KD. But yeah, if you're doing a lot of ++/team stuff, more proc would be in order; Repulsion Bomb takes quite a few damage and softish control procs... I've never tried it, but it would be interesting to see if the Superior Frozen Blast Mag 3 immob and the Razzle Dazzle Mag 2 Immob procs could somehow work together. Maybe not useful in Mind Control (I've never had trouble with runners/scatter on Mind/) but on something else /FFish.

    Mind/???

I wouldn't skip Repulsion Bomb, it's a great opener and CAN be a bit of a proc mule, if you're into that kind of thing. I like to slot it with Posi A/D/E and Posi Proc, Annihilation A/D/R and Annihilation Proc, FF+Rech and the KB:KD, but unless you've got room to run 3x FF+Rech in a build you might be better served with a straight attribute enhancement or a proc, there. Don't skip it though, it's a really nice power.
  24. We're both right, kinda. It's tagged "+27.68% Base Defense, ToHit Strength (self only) for 60s" but players don't HAVE a base defense, so... no boost. It DOES boost your ToHit Bonus, though.
  25. I'm a fan of the Experimentation Pool on characters that live in melee; if you can afford to keep Speed of Sound going, the ability to Jaunt to a target off a macro is invaluable. Corrosive Vial is an auto-hit that can slot either of the -Res procs and about 356 others that will have that 90% chance to fire every time. If Adrenal Booster were an inspiration instead of a click, those inspirations would sell for millions at the auction house; getting +27.68 Damage, Defense, "Base Defense," Recharge, Travel Speed, Mez Duration, and ToHit for 60s is not a bad deal, especially when you consider you 'get' 1.5 travel powers and a decent debuff along the way. It's not ALL groovy... I don't truck in Experimental Injection and Toxic Dart is the 'Kick' of this set, but if you can afford a few powers and a small handful of slots, Experimentation is "not too shabby." ETA: the 27.68 +Defense is a multiplier of your Base Defense, which is 0, sooo.... thanks for nothing? Still a good set on melee types.
