  1. The Circle of Twelve. I like it! Got a ring to it. Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaa... er I mean, lol.
  2. Congratulations! Wow, 2024 is off to a great start. Since you're adding more members to the Council of Thirteen what do I call you now? The Council of Seventeen? The Council of Nineteen? The City Council just doesn't sound conspiratorial enough for me. 😁
  3. I know for a fact that at least one former Cryptic dev has posted on the Homecoming forums. I remember his non-dev forum name from the retail forums and I've seen that name here on the Homecoming forums. Also, Bree from MoP made a statement in one of their podcasts that heavily implied that at least some of the Council of Thirteen are former CoH devs. And no, I'm not going to post the links. The last time I did I was attacked by the DDL and then a mod locked the thread.
  4. I like most of Zack Snyder's stuff and I was really hoping that Rebel Moon was going to be good. ... sigh ...
  5. I've seen multiple articles saying that the studio has reviews embargoed until the day it goes to theaters. That's a bad sign. Every time a studio puts a review embargo on a movie it's turned out to be a horrible movie. I hope I'm wrong. We've already had enough bad superhero movies. I'm worried they'll wreak the genre so badly Hollywood will never make a superhero movie for the rest of my life. Bottom line, if your movie's great you want people talking about it. If it's not, you suppress PR and reviews so that people will watch it without having heard anything bad about it.
  6. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom comes out in 2 days, on Saturday December 22nd. And I was shocked that I couldn't find a thread about it. So are you planning on watching it? In theater or on streaming service?
  7. It depends on the character archetype (class), how often you'll be teamed or solo, and what your goal with the character is. Anything else would just be me listing my personal preferences. Why would you care about which power sets I like playing?
  8. From the wiki page on the Fifth Column: "The Fifth Column has the nefarious distinction of actually triggering the United States' involvement in the war against Nazi Germany. Hitler first sent the covert super team to Paragon City in 1939, tasked with spying on and sabotaging US shipping and naval development. In 1941, as the navy's Atlantic Fleet mustered in Paragon Harbor with a convoy of supply vessels destined for England, the Fifth Column struck. The attack force destroyed dozens of ships and injured thousands before they withdrew into hiding. The Nazi spies spent the rest of the war wreaking havoc up and down the Eastern seaboard, fighting countless skirmishes with America's own heroes. Under the leadership of the ruthless and deadly Requiem, the Fifth Column killed hundreds and cost the US millions in war materials. In the closing months of the war they became desperate and careless, and heroes like The Statesman brought most of the covert cadre to justice."
  9. Neither replying to your posts, nor disagreeing with you is narcissistic or trolling. But sure, let's see where it gets me. 🤣 😁 😁 🤣
  10. Actually it does. At least according to this post from a MODERATOR: But hey, you just keep on trying to tell people what they're allowed to say on the internet. Let me know how that works out for you.
  11. Well, if you don't like my response then feel free to log in to your moderator account and delete my post. Don't worry, I'm used to it. Otherwise, giving me orders is a waste of your time.
  12. Have you tried the Sorcery Power Pool?
  13. Well, one of the people who put a thumbs down is a developer. So I'm sure there's a good technical reason.
  14. Oh, c'mon man! Now you're just trying to get me in trouble. You know darn well I can't respond to that without getting another involuntary forum vacation. Man. I'm getting this weird sense of deja vu.
  15. No, I really don't. I'm not a pedant so I don't care about specious or semantic arguments. The information in the link is official, which was the request that you made in the post that I was replying to.
  16. Here's when the seasons officially start and end according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a department of the U.S. Federal Government. That makes it official. https://www.noaa.gov/education/resource-collections/climate/changing-seasons
  17. I can't wait until AI can accurately simulate actors. I'm hoping for a couple of more seasons of ST:TOS.
  18. Ok, you're right. That's twice now. I really must stop posting before I've finished my coffee. Nice analysis of Willpower, by the way. I just thought of something else though. Is there any chance that the Fighting Pool attacks have been buffed enough to fill in as Sentinel melee attacks? I don't expect them to be on par with Energy Transfer or Total Focus, but are they at least significantly stronger than Brawl?
  19. You are correct. However I believe the entire premise of this thread is not what Sentinels are, but what they could have been. Had I been designing Sentinels I would have given them 1 or 2 melee attacks in their secondary pools, then I would have adjusted the armor powers/toggles to compensate so that Sentinel defense would have been more like 80% - 90% of Scrapper values. I don't use melee attacks very often on my Blasters, but when they get forced into melee range they're nice to have. I keep having to remind myself that ranged attacks can also be used while in melee, and it just doesn't feel right to not have at least 1 melee attack. Please don't reply with "but you have Brawl." I mean specifically a melee attack that's in the style of the character's other powers.
  20. The rumor is that the developers are finally porting Energy Aura to Tankers.
  21. In its annual SEC report, Disney acknowledges that "we face risks relating to misalignment with public and consumer tastes and preferences for entertainment, travel and consumer products." AND "Further, consumers’ perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands." https://thehill.com/opinion/finance/4326247-happy-birthday-adam-smith-the-invisible-hand-just-slapped-disney/ "Disney has reportedly lost a billion dollars just on four of its recent “woke” movie flops, productions denounced by critics as pushing political agendas or storylines."
  22. And Star Trek: Infinite is on sale for just $19.49 https://store.steampowered.com/app/1622900/Star_Trek_Infinite/
  23. Yes, but there's also rules to it, this makes it a formalized system. In English I can say "Company that provides legal insurance." (like malpractice insurance for example) In German I can say "Rechtsschutzversicherungsgesellschaften." (Legal-defense-insurance-corporation) One single word.
  24. I am so dumb sometimes. 😟
  25. It doesn't really work that way. Here's just one example: Schadenfreude. Taking a gloating satisfaction in the misery and/or pain of others. English doesn't have a word for this. Most languages don't have a word for this. German does. Inuit doesn't have words for submarine or airplane, or sand, but they have a bunch of different words for snow. It's quite common that languages don't have a word for everything. German has a formalized system that allows one to make new words. So German either already has a word for something or you can make a new word with that system and everyone will automatically understand what that word means.
