  1. And by "free demo" I mean YOU can log onto Steam and give Ship of Heroes a try, if you want to. It was ok. I liked the graphic style and the flight animations. The controls were a little sluggish. I'll definitely check it out when it finally launches.
  2. One of the CoH spiritual successors, Ship of Heroes, actually has a free demo that just went live today on Steam. I'll let you know if it's any good! 😁 Supposedly it's even going to be launching early next year as a subscription only MMO.
  3. It's days like this when I wonder if I really am the only person on the internet that doesn't suffer from some form of mental illness.
  4. Last year the devs said they were going to rework the Trick-or-Treat spawns so that EBs wouldn't spawn if you were soloing. Anyone know if that change was made?
  5. I love these guys:
  6. Wait. So if a guy skips shaving one day, and has same hair on his neck, then somehow his opinion is invalid and it's ok to make fun of him?
  7. Yeah, I would have liked it more had it been more of an actual horror movie. With the New Mutants actually working to overcome their fears and coming together as a super team, and then hunting the monster down and ripping it apart. The after credits scene should have been them being welcomed into the X-Mansion.
  8. Slight tangent: Am I the only person on the internet who actually liked The New Mutants movie? And yeah, Gen V doesn't look interesting to me. I'm really not interested in yet another high school teen angst show. I'm almost 40 years past that demographic.
  9. I have a character in a nice suit and tie with orange hair named "Orange 45." He's, you guessed it, a Thugs Mastermind. 😁
  10. Stuff like this has happened to me exactly twice in all the years I played CoH. In both cases I instantly kicked the person and then wrote in team chat "I am the leader of this team. You will follow my directions or I will kick all of you like I just kicked that guy. Now, we all good?" In both cases we continued on, I didn't have to kick anyone else, and we had a great time. Strong leaders make great teams. Advertise your team as "Slow/kill most", repeat that in team chat right before you start the Task Force, and then ruthlessly kick anyone who refuses to follow directions. Your teaming experience, and that of everyone else on the team, will be much improved.
  11. Don't do it! People don't actually want honest answers around here. That's why the honest answer is usually rewarded with a forum suspension. Trust me on this.
  12. What if Confront just acted like TP Enemy to Me?
  13. Dude, serious question. Are you ok? Is some new guy with 2 posts necroing a thread really that big a deal? C'mon man. Just log in with your moderator account and close the thread. Some n00b making a n00b mistake really shouldn't get you this riled up.
  14. That's why.
  15. I'm planning on NOT buying Starfield. Early reviewers have been saying that much of the game is boring, that it's a buggy and broken mess. But honestly, the real reason that I won't be buying it is because I agree with Heelvsbabyface.
  16. I'm very sorry to hear that the effects in this game cause you distress in any way. That isn't sarcasm, I truly mean that. And I agree that you should definitely put your health and well being above this, or any other, game. However, I completely disagree with your assertion that our community is horrible, and I'm shocked with how disappointed you claim to be with the people in this community. They hear that you're having a problem and their first response is to try to help you. And your reaction is to come to the forums and complain about how horrible the community is. Did one person appear to have a problem with you putting your own health above remaining in the team? Maybe, maybe that happened. Given the tone of your posts I'm not convinced that you didn't just completely misunderstand what they were trying to say. Either way, the 1 or 8 people on your team aren't "the community." Please remember, that not everyone who offers a stray bit of advice is aware of all of the details of your condition. So when they offer a piece of advice that you already know doesn't work, don't get upset at them, just realize that they are trying to help. And no, people aren't meaner now days than they were years ago. I've been dealing with adults for 50 years now. Yes, that's since the 70s. And I can tell you from personal experience that people really aren't much different now than they were back then. People aren't meaner online than they were 10 years ago either. 4chan, the internet's hive of scum and villainy, has been around for over 10 years. People were calling each other horrible names online back in the 90s. I think the OP should consider showing some of that kind and polite acceptance that he wants so desperately to others in our community. Sure, their attempts to help you may be misguided, but you should at least understand that people's hearts are in the right place. They're actually trying to help you.
  17. I know what you mean. HOW DARE other players try to offer you useful advice! Look, I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but what exactly do you expect other players to do? They aren't developers. They can't reprogram the game to stop doing certain things that affect you. These people are TRYING to give you helpful advice. And your response is to get upset at those people? WHAT?!? How arrogant and entitled are you that you get upset at people who are actually trying to help you?
  18. The good thing about German is that words are spelled like they're pronounced and pronounced like they're spelled. So if I see a new word I immediately know how to pronounce it, taking my accent into account, and if I hear a new word I immediately know how to properly spell it. Needless to say, as a native English speaker, this whole concept of words consistently following the rules is quite foreign to me. Don't get me started. German grammar on the other hand... well, there's a reason that German settlers in England changed their language to be easier to speak and then started adopting words from other languages. Because... oh man! While German grammar is very logical and systematic, which makes it easy to quickly pick up the basics, the conjugation of verbs, articles and even nouns in their sentences makes it difficult for most people to become really good at the language. The tiny advantage of being able to say du (you - singular) and ihr (you - plural) is completely offset by how complex it is to change tenses and conditions in even simple phrases in German. Of course, this is also part of why learning was German fun for me.
  19. No. The average lifespan of any person who made it to past first birthday was about 50. Teens are not, and never were, middle aged. C'mon Snarky, you're a smart vampire. You understand what he's saying.
  20. No one is kill stealing. If other players attack the GM you can join in and fight the GM even if you're not on their team. You'll still get experience and loot drops. Bottom line: this isn't WoW.
  21. You know, if you have to keep telling people how famous you are, then you aren't famous.
  22. There's only one side here, only one. That side is people who love City of Heroes. Please stop trying to turn everything into a fight between two sides. Save that garbage for real life. Also, you have no moral high-ground over the rest of us. You're playing this game right here along side the rest of us pirates.
  23. This is laughable coming from you, considering the way you consistently mischaracterize people who don't agree with you. Part of 'being nice' is understanding that people can disagree with you and still be good people.
  24. Here's another statement from that same moderator in that same post: You have the right to respond CONSTRUCTIVELY to an idea. If you don’t like it, no problem. Just say “I don’t like it”. You don't have to say why if you don’t want to. If you have a reason why you don’t like it, please tell us why. Focus your response on the idea, not the person. So no. People don't have to explain why they don't like your suggestion, and it doesn't matter if you have a problem with it or not.
  25. Yes. We have read the rules. Here's another post, by a moderator: “Don’t leave your child unattended.” In short, any suggestion made in this forum will be thoroughly examined by all of us, changed, ripped up, and added-on to until it’s possible that the resulting idea doesn’t resemble what you suggested in the first place. You need to allow others to add more consideration to your idea. If you find yourself having a problem with this, a good idea may be running your initial idea by friends first for feedback before sharing it here. Just FYI, we're allowed to disagree with your suggestion. We're allowed to say why we disagree. In short: PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO DISAGREE WITH YOUR SUGGESTION!
