  1. The best powerset for a melee Sentinel is called "Scrapper."
  2. Sentinels were pretty bad but no longer. A year or so ago they got a damage buff and their inherent was also improved. They now do almost as much damage as Blasters. And no, Blasters are NEVER more survivable than a Sentinel. End game Blasters can slot a bunch of special IOs that seriously increase their ability to survive. But you can slot those same IOs on a Sentinel, which adds those IO bonuses to the armor that a Sentinel already has. Whoever told you all of this isn't even giving you old info, what they've told you is just straight up wrong. Roll up your Iron Man character and have fun!
  3. Your suggestion will result in Controllers being less able to control, but being more like Blaster or Dominators. You clearly don't like Controllers, go play a Blaster or Dominator. Don't make a Controller and then complain "I don't do enough damage." If you want to do damage play a Scrapper or Blaster. If you want to Control stuff then play a Controller.
  4. Can you post a screenshot?
  5. Thanks for that, High Beam. Man, it's been a long time since I've seen those trucks. *signs for fuel delivery* Ok, Comet I'm sorry that you're still upset over Enhancement Diversification. I don't think that anyone was happy with it, for a lot of reasons. However... None of us had anything to do with it, we're players just like you are. The current developer team didn't have anything to do with it either. Yes, the game is very playable and enjoyable. It's been explained to you multiple times in this thread that with IOs and Incarnate powers you can make your character just as powerful as they were before ED, except for the aggro limit. It happened 18 years ago. Get over it already. Walk it off.
  6. @High_Beam I'm going to need some fuel to go with this match. I'll go grab my pen.
  7. I'm generally on Discord with my friends while I'm playing. Every time we get a cutscene a friend of mine does funny voices for the various speakers. His "voice over" of the Frostfire cutscene is hilarious!
  8. It just seems sad to me that you'd rather go to all of the effort to create another account, and level up a bunch of characters, just so you don't have to team with another human being.
  9. "I have detailed files." - T800 No seriously, I have detailed files. Well, a notepad file anyway. With info on each character, their build, what I was doing with them, and some info that occurs to me as I'm playing them. This allows me to basically pick right back up where I left off when I finally decide to start playing again.
  10. Yes. Also, you can create ANY character AT and play on either side. So villain Blasters and hero Masterminds.
  11. @CometCometh in answer to your question: NO, the game is NOT in a horrible state. The game is in a great state. You'll have 1,000 free character slots per server. Characters now days are a little overpowered, but nothing like the days before ED. With Invention Origin Enhancements, introduced in Issue 9 IIRC, you can build a near unkillable character. You can even make a Blaster with Scrapper level defenses and permanent Mez Protection. Yes, the game is in a great state. It's changed a bunch since you played 15+ years ago, but it's a ton of fun. Jump in and give it a shot.
  12. I believe that currently you can buy them from the supergroup vendors. I agree that they should be sold by the vendor that's standing near the trainer in Atlas Park and Mercy Island. Also, I'd recommend that they be just as strong as SO's but, like those special enhancements sold by the P2W vendor, they only work until the character reaches level 21. This would allow low level characters to effectively have SOs without having to pay SO prices.
  13. Please port Energy Aura to Tanks finally.
  14. Once again, this is something that the developers do not have to write code for as you can already do that yourself. Yes, you have to choose to be either Daredevil or Galactus, but a single character doesn't get to be both. Superman does. Look, how many people got robbed and/or killed while Superman was fighting against [insert villain name here] in last weeks episode? Why didn't Superman patrol the streets of Harlem or Compton or Bogusville to stop all of the muggings? Because he was fighting Mungus - eater of worlds - this week and letting Batman patrol the streets of Kings Row. You can already do this. Just exempt down to someone else and run radio missions with them. Of course this would require you to... (sharp intake of breathe) *GASP* ...team up with other actual live human people.
  15. You can already do exactly what you're suggesting in game right now. There's an option to turn off earning XP. So, you decide which level you want to be, match it up with the enemies your hero typically fights, and then permanently lock your XP once you reach that level. If you get to a point in your personal story where your character grows and/or becomes more powerful simply unlock XP gain, go up a level or two, and then relock it.
  16. Translation: "I've spent months farming and I have billions of Inf and I'd like all of the accolades on all of my characters but I don't want to actually do anything other than farm. LoL."
  17. I'm actually surprised. I figured that Disney would keep spending money on "The Message."
  18. Got bored during your vacation from the forums? FYI, "I don't like a combo system being added to this powerset for this reason" is negative feedback. "The devs are lazy" is just you being a d***. There's a difference.
  19. Nein. Es sieht aus wie Bockwurst.
  20. Yes they could, but they always could have done that. The licensing agreement makes it far less likely that they will do so. NCSoft is still not taking taking over and they still don't have anything to do with Homecoming. I understand, and even agree with, your outlook on this. However, you have completely misunderstood the licensing agreement. Take care man. Paragon City will be waiting for you if you ever decide to return. Peace.
  21. No. NCSoft is NOT taking over. Also, this licensing agreement makes it far less likely that the game will be shut down. I'm not sure which announcement you read, but you literally took away the opposite of what was said.
  22. So? I believe the number of people who would benefit from being able to play, and get XP from, all of the in-game content significantly outnumbers the small amount of people who farm outleveled missions for badges.
  23. Which is exactly why it makes the most sense is for entering the mission to exempt you down to the maximum level for the mission.
  24. My first Scrapper to 50, back on the retail servers, was MA/SR. My main, on both retail and Homecoming, is a Energy Melee. I guess that I just don't expect melee to be be AoE. To me the very idea of a melee attack being AoE makes no sense in most cases. So I guess the way that I deal with it, to answer the OP's question, is that I focus on what makes sense given the animations that I'm seeing and just having fun instead of caring about optimal DPS. Of course I also don't play on +4/x8 because the TTK is annoyingly long.
