"I have detailed files." - T800 No seriously, I have detailed files. Well, a notepad file anyway. With info on each character, their build, what I was doing with them, and some info that occurs to me as I'm playing them. This allows me to basically pick right back up where I left off when I finally decide to start playing again.

New dude - City of Villains?
PeregrineFalcon replied to TheBlackCenturion's topic in General Discussion
Yes. Also, you can create ANY character AT and play on either side. So villain Blasters and hero Masterminds. -
@CometCometh in answer to your question: NO, the game is NOT in a horrible state. The game is in a great state. You'll have 1,000 free character slots per server. Characters now days are a little overpowered, but nothing like the days before ED. With Invention Origin Enhancements, introduced in Issue 9 IIRC, you can build a near unkillable character. You can even make a Blaster with Scrapper level defenses and permanent Mez Protection. Yes, the game is in a great state. It's changed a bunch since you played 15+ years ago, but it's a ton of fun. Jump in and give it a shot.

Bring back Training Enhancements for training purposes
PeregrineFalcon replied to Maximum_J's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I believe that currently you can buy them from the supergroup vendors. I agree that they should be sold by the vendor that's standing near the trainer in Atlas Park and Mercy Island. Also, I'd recommend that they be just as strong as SO's but, like those special enhancements sold by the P2W vendor, they only work until the character reaches level 21. This would allow low level characters to effectively have SOs without having to pay SO prices. -

Please port Energy Aura to Tanks finally. -
Branching out to being the Hero/Villain you want to be
PeregrineFalcon replied to luficia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Once again, this is something that the developers do not have to write code for as you can already do that yourself. Yes, you have to choose to be either Daredevil or Galactus, but a single character doesn't get to be both. Superman does. Look, how many people got robbed and/or killed while Superman was fighting against [insert villain name here] in last weeks episode? Why didn't Superman patrol the streets of Harlem or Compton or Bogusville to stop all of the muggings? Because he was fighting Mungus - eater of worlds - this week and letting Batman patrol the streets of Kings Row. You can already do this. Just exempt down to someone else and run radio missions with them. Of course this would require you to... (sharp intake of breathe) *GASP* ...team up with other actual live human people. -
Branching out to being the Hero/Villain you want to be
PeregrineFalcon replied to luficia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You can already do exactly what you're suggesting in game right now. There's an option to turn off earning XP. So, you decide which level you want to be, match it up with the enemies your hero typically fights, and then permanently lock your XP once you reach that level. If you get to a point in your personal story where your character grows and/or becomes more powerful simply unlock XP gain, go up a level or two, and then relock it. -
Translation: "I've spent months farming and I have billions of Inf and I'd like all of the accolades on all of my characters but I don't want to actually do anything other than farm. LoL."

I'm actually surprised. I figured that Disney would keep spending money on "The Message." -
Crashes, lack of content, laziness. Oh my...
PeregrineFalcon replied to eldriyth's topic in General Discussion
Got bored during your vacation from the forums? FYI, "I don't like a combo system being added to this powerset for this reason" is negative feedback. "The devs are lazy" is just you being a d***. There's a difference. -
Nein. Es sieht aus wie Bockwurst.

NCSOFT & Homecoming License Announcement
PeregrineFalcon replied to Homecoming's topic in Announcements
Yes they could, but they always could have done that. The licensing agreement makes it far less likely that they will do so. NCSoft is still not taking taking over and they still don't have anything to do with Homecoming. I understand, and even agree with, your outlook on this. However, you have completely misunderstood the licensing agreement. Take care man. Paragon City will be waiting for you if you ever decide to return. Peace. -
NCSOFT & Homecoming License Announcement
PeregrineFalcon replied to Homecoming's topic in Announcements
No. NCSoft is NOT taking over. Also, this licensing agreement makes it far less likely that the game will be shut down. I'm not sure which announcement you read, but you literally took away the opposite of what was said. -
Please remove the maximum level from Contacts!
PeregrineFalcon replied to Taveena's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
So? I believe the number of people who would benefit from being able to play, and get XP from, all of the in-game content significantly outnumbers the small amount of people who farm outleveled missions for badges. -
Please remove the maximum level from Contacts!
PeregrineFalcon replied to Taveena's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Which is exactly why it makes the most sense is for entering the mission to exempt you down to the maximum level for the mission. -
My first Scrapper to 50, back on the retail servers, was MA/SR. My main, on both retail and Homecoming, is a Energy Melee. I guess that I just don't expect melee to be be AoE. To me the very idea of a melee attack being AoE makes no sense in most cases. So I guess the way that I deal with it, to answer the OP's question, is that I focus on what makes sense given the animations that I'm seeing and just having fun instead of caring about optimal DPS. Of course I also don't play on +4/x8 because the TTK is annoyingly long.

So this guy is an experienced MMO player. He makes a video where he pretends to be a noob. Does no research into the game at all. Deliberately does dumb things and dies a lot. And he's drinking while he's doing this. And that's supposed to convince people that "This game is not as new player friendly as many of us think it is"? The only thing it's convinced me of is that the OP doesn't think much of the intelligence of the people on this forum. This game isn't that "new player friendly" to someone who's never played a video game before. Sure, ok. I can agree with that. But we're a quarter of way into the 21st century. How many people in first world nations have never played a video game before, ever? If only we had a wiki that had all of the needed game info as well as pages with tips for new players. Or, what if this game had a chat window with a help channel so that new players could ask other players for help and advice?

My condolences. May God hold your father in the palm of his hand until you meet again.

Force Field (new defense power set)
PeregrineFalcon replied to gameboy1234's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
People have been asking for Energy Aura to be proliferated to Tanks for years. If they add a Force Field Armor set, without giving Energy Aura to Tanks, I feel like I'm not the only one that'd be mad as hell. 🤬 -
Don't. You had the sharpness of eye to notice the difference in pets, the sense to ask the question, and the courage to persist when everyone was telling you that you were wrong but their answers weren't matching what you had seen. You may be many things, but dumb is not one of them.

New to the Game. Make larger action bars
PeregrineFalcon replied to Gandalf970's topic in Help & Support
Yes. Go into options and you'll find the setting that will let you alter the size, and color, of the UI.
