  1. I appreciate everyone who creates teams
  2. You should be limited to self only powers. But you should be able to turn on toggles and activate powers that only affect yourself.
  3. The kin part is mostly hands off with speed boost combined with fiddly needing to redo siphon speed and siphon power frequently. I have not enjoyed it before now. But I am enjoying it paired with just a few attacks.
  4. time/dual pistols defender does not scratch my itch. It does a bit of everything but nothing dramatic. It's hard to tell that the enemies do 30% less damage, recharge 30% less, that my AOE heal + regen is doing some healing to my team, my aoe's are doing a bit of damage, etc. So I switched to kin/dual pistols defender for the siphon speed to make my aoe's rechage faster. And I ended up on a team in the Hollows on +3. And we wiped over and over again. After several wipes, I realized that the leader was using the arsenal control which has an aoe gas sleep that puts groups to sleep over and over again. Huge groups of them - in the outcast vs troll mission it slept all of the spawns in that corner hallway on the first floor. And I was waking them all up with my aoe. Basically the entire team quit and we re-filled. So I can't say it was just me. But with the new team I stopped using aoe and we slowly picked off the trolls one by one as the rest slept. It was painfully slow taking on +3s as we could barely hit. But that aoe sleep was a game changer when we let them stay asleep. So now I have to go try the arsenal control. But I bet my teammates use aoe and wake them all up.
  5. I try to log out to get the day jobs just because. And I don't usually bother unless I am parking a character for a long time. But I don't pay attention to them really.
  6. I'm a huge Marvel fan from my youth. But that was the late 70's and 80's. I stopped reading around 90 when the comics became dark. I want Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes not Civil War.
  7. My desires for a superhero movie are fairly simple I want to see a superhero in costume fighting a supervillain in costume. I don't want time spent on an origin story. I don't want superheroes fighting superheroes. I don't want superheroes or supervillains fighting in normal clothes. So for me Iron Man 2 is almost perfect. Winter Soldier is also in my top 3.
  8. I don't study enemies enough to know what their defenses are. I only know clockwork are weak to psi because there was a loading tip about it. I am planning on using incendiary to solo and probably radiation on teams.
  9. I look at the stats in game but with the various ammo options I cannot tell what the numbers actually are for damage. And guides don't seem to be a thing anymore - just uncommented builds. It seems that there are 3 single target attacks with dual pistols - pistol, dual wield, and suppressive fire. And people say take pistol and suppressive fire and skip dual wield. Does suppressive fire do more damage than dual wield as a power, or is it and IO thing with procs or something else that makes suppressive fire good? Looking at a 3 second hold with incendiary ammo seems pointless. So I would skip suppressive fire unless it is actually a good damage attack.
  10. Whereas Iron Man 2 for me is in my top 5 MCU movies. Iron Man I find okay but not good and Iron Man 3 was terrible. And Civil War was unbearable.
  11. Yes. I wanted to see Marvels in the theater. But knowing it was coming to Disney+ I made no special effort to get out and see it and ended up just waiting.
  12. Incarnates - I don't play above level 30, so I know nothing of incarnates Missions - the two ways to get groups are in your SG chat or in LFG chat. The LFG automatic group forming is not used by people. Posting in LFG that you are looking for a group does nothing. People post in LFG that they have a group and need members. You send a message to them directly and they add you to the team. Leveling - AE farming is still the fast way to level. You can get a 2x XP boost from the START vendor and that is very common. Badges - I don't do badges anymore (did it on live) but there must be a guide. Check out the guides board on this site Supergroups - There some very active SGs but SGs don't seem to be as big a deal as they were in live.
  13. I just saw The Marvels and it was great. Easily in the top 10 MCU movies and close to the top 5. But then I loved Quantumania as well - in my top 3 MCU movies. The MCU is doing very well. People just don't remember how the MCU used to be and compare it to Endgame - the culmination of 15 years of movies. But if you look at the box office for the early MCU and now, it is clear that Avengers movies (or Civil War which was basically an Avengers movie) do great as do Spider-man and a few other movies. The rest have really varied in box office. And while the movies have generally done worse in the past few years - that is post Covid and movies are just doing a lot worse. I don't think there is superhero fatigue or bad superhero-movie fatigue. I think there is mis-remembering history syndrome.
  14. People are lazy using AI as a writing assistant. But not nearly as lazy for that as for using a computer to play a superhero game. Proper humans play Champions TTRPG and don't use computers for any of it.
  15. I check for descriptions when people have interesting names.
  16. I see "bad" players a lot more recently and I have to assume it is new players. It is great being on teams and finding out some people are actually entirely new to the game - not just back after a break. But it does take a different mindset to play with new players instead of everyone having played for 10 years and done the TF hundreds of times.
  17. The first one my team made it a challenge. A dominator would instantly immobilize every spawn scattered across the map. Then the dominator would usually get knocked out by the return fire. But, when the dominator did not lock them down someone had an aoe with knockback that would scatter them to the winds. The second one was advertised as a KM TF. But then the leader got upset when people were actually killing most and not rushing to the end. On the final mission in Atlas City hall, there was a spawn at the bottom of the stairs and a hero below the statue. The leader ordered everyone to fly over the group at the bottom of the stairs to rescue the hero. Then to go back and defeat the spawn at the bottom of the stairs. They just kept giving crazy orders that made everyone confused and then got upset when people were scattered. No one suggested staying together to do Posi 2.
  18. I used chatGPT for D&D backgrounds involving Ravnica and the Forgotten Realms. It did a good job of writing it up in a storylike way.
  19. Every character has a spot for a description, but looking at characters in-game very few actually have a description written out. So to start off the weekly challenges here is an easy one - write a description for 3 of your characters in their in-game description spot. You can post them here as well if you like. I wrote my first one up for Lost Claws - a rad/claws tanker A group of refugees in First Ward sought to escape from the rules of Praetoria and the dangers of First Ward. They found a rikti old space ship and jury-rigged its warp engines to make a warp gate to another dimension. The energies of the rikti warp gate mutated the refugees. They found themselves lost in another world and with powers they had never dreamed of. Now they seek to gather heroes to return to First Ward and save those who remain. Scrounging gear from the alleyways of Paragon City, they hide behind masks and adopt the identity of the Lost Claws.
  20. This sounds cool. I enjoy mazes and would like to try one in game.
  21. Not sure how to phrase this and I don't have a solution for it. If the team leader is level 10, the enemies are based on a level 10 mission. If the leader levels up in the mission, they and everyone else levels up. So now the team is a level higher than the mission. It would be great to have a setting so that you did not level above the mission level while in the mission. Either have the enemies gain a level as well, or have the leader remain at the level of the mission.
  22. I would say that if the advice of half of the players is to remove general chat and never see it - that would indicate a significant problem with general chat.
  23. Some NPCs have a bit of story, some just die in the tutorial (or you can save them). Penelope Yin, Frostfire, and Fflambeaux have a bit of repeat giving them a bit more story. So which NPCs would you like to see have more of a story or a story at all?
