Big new change - people don't know the game on TFs
Did a Positron 1 and 2 and new and returning players did not know every mission by heart and how to get to Faultline. There was a lot of explaining and waiting.
It's not bad if you know - but I can't just assume everyone knows everything about the game anymore.
They made an AR control set, but not an AR buff set for defenders.
I can imagine AR debuff abilities, but I cannot imagine AR or other weapon sets as buff sets for defenders (corruptors, etc)
So how would you make an assault rife, dual blades, titan weapon, etc. buff powerset for defenders?
Just like D&D is not a very good TTRPG (it isn't terrible, but it is far from the best). But it remains by far the most popular game.
Champions was a better TTRPG in the 1980's, but superhero games just are not popular.
I play the game to team, so I play on Excelsior. So having more people to team with is just great.
The only drawback has been the less than 5 times that I've had to queue to get in - and only for a couple of minutes.
And it can be really hard to find Miss Liberty amidst the 30+ characters gathered around her.
So what server are you on? How has the increased server population affected you?
Old contacts, new contacts, blue side, red side, gold side, DFB, story arc zones (Hollows, Faultline, Striga), AE stories, AE farming?
And do you do any of the special contacts like Twinshot, University tutorial, Cape and Aura arcs?
The character creation walks you through choosing a character. For a starting character try Sentinel if you like ranged attacks and Scrapper if you like melee attacks. They are both fairly simple to play for new characters.
Go through a tutorial after you make your character to learn the basics.
You will get a contact when you enter that gives you some simple missions to get started.
At level 5 you get introduced to a contact named Twinshot that acts like another tutorial introducing you to other aspects of the game.
Welcome
I don't emote in real life. I didn't emote in CoH, but someone posted a macro for an emote and I had a goal of picking an emote for each of my characters. I didn't. But for awhile I was picking them.
My Lost character begs.
Bond, Atomic Bond, mixes drinks
my Trolls flex
my Tsoo do kata
So what emotes do you use and do you macro them to your character?
There are so many costume pieces. Some are very generic and some are very specific. Unless I am making a firefighter I cannot find a use for the firefighter helmet.
So what are your go to costume pieces that you use on a lot of characters and what pieces do you love but can't find an excuse to use them?
People are clearly leaving - My global friends list has a lot of people who never log on anymore.
But the population seems to be fairly stable overall.
In character creation do you abandon if you cannot come up with a costume or name you like?
How many levels do you go before you decide a character isn't for you?
When you abandon a character do you delete it, or just leave it now that we have 1,000 slots?
Do you expect to go back to old characters or once you move on are the old ones dead to you?
For Posi 1 run an elec/psi dominator.
Static Field is fantastic for the stairs ambush in the final mission. They come out of the door and fall asleep.
Psi damage is great for clockwork and everything else.
And domination and Paralyzing Blast make the shadow fight trivial. You hold them all for a short while and can use Tesla Cage to hold some of them longer.
OR
Just run an elect/thermal controller for any teaming to make it go smoothly.
