Unfortunately there is nothing even close to that in game, the wild cat ears are about as good as you're going to get I think and still have some appearance of ears and not strange helmet decorations or antenna.

There is also 'Looking for RP' which is an out of character channel that's supposed to be analogous to Looking for Group, when you just want to find people to RP with, its questionably active but there 🙂

So today was the first time I tried to arrange my character list, and it doesn't stick. It's installed under c:/users/myusername/Downloads/Homecoming, and there is no file anywhere called playerslots that people seem to refer to to store character order. I tried creating one, logging in, moving characters around and logging back out, but the file was still empty and the characters not arranged still. Any ideas?

So I see the same thing over and over, people saying they are on later nights and can't find anyone to talk to/mission with/etc. I'm on too and never see any of them 🙂 To that end, I made the global channel 'Midnight Oil' a public channel for use as a late night hub, right now it says PST 8pm to Midnight because that's my playtimes, but if people join and want a wider range of time, it can be updated. Just a way to make help some of us on later find people to talk to!

It was 2004, I didn't play MMOs because I tried to follow Thrakna around in Everquest and that uh....yeah we never got past me getting lost. A bunch of our friends from on online community bought this superhero game so he gave it a try. He said 'hey they got a lot of costume stuff, you want to make a character?' so I made a fire/energy blaster version of an old Dark Conspiracy character called Wildfire(she became Wyld Fyre on Virtue), who was a pyrokinetic, basing her looks on old art from Elfwood(yeah if you remember that place you are officially old too, sorry) because eh, it was something I knew, and surely I was just going to mess around a bit before getting bored. A week later, Thrakna was like "look, you need to get your own account because I want to play too." I used to have a color version of that ridiculous old art, but no idea where it went

Very nice! If you want/need fellow displaced dimensional sorts to chat with, my character Blazelight is also an unscheduled arrival via Portal Corps from a future-tech Earth where something went horribly wrong, she's happy to talk to others. 🙂

If you're still looking for an electric blaster name SuperJoe, I have Electroclash if you want to give it a try. I've gone through three different looks and ideas and none of them have really clicked enough that I'm willing to give it to a good home so long as it comes back to me if it isn't going to be used so I can try again later 🙂 Global is @Kai

Honestly the game's population is 90% people who are older with less free time on their hands then when the game was new, it really can't do anything *but* fade, and will absolutely never operate like a live game because the goal isn't really to get new players. Sure, there will be a few, younger siblings who heard stories, etc, but all of this has been a negative growth proposition from the start, its one big long nostalgia trip. Most of us look back at the things we did on live and go 'ugh, I would never have the time to do that now', and don't forget that the 'Devs' of Homecoming are not faceless programmers paid a salary to make stuff, they are just players with extra influence on what to do with the game working on a several year old codebase divergent from Live. Their aim is making the most people to be happy with the game with what they have to work with, and like it or not, the majority of people are going to be happiest pretending that the game never shut down and they are just as 'cool' as they were back then. Assuming they could even put locks back in at all, which, given the time separation, I find highly unlikely without breaking things all over, the only way it could be done without losing a significant chunk of the playerbase would be some sort of 'hardcore mode' toggle that you would have to set for your account/character if you wanted the locks to be in place. Putting anything 100% behind an unlock mechanism will only have people screaming money grab, elitism, favoritism, etc depending on method of unlock, and deeply erode the trust the players have in the Devs, which, given the entire secret server disaster that started this, is very fragile already for a number of people.

Screenshots of the in game entries and some explanation! The costume contests were the entrants were given three words to design a costume around for the three hosts. Anthem's first post was for Claudia's words: Vintage, Fire, and Accessories. The other entries are below. I thought I had left UI on so I don't remember full names at the moment but it was 'Sugar' and 'Second' when we were judging internally.

Don't live in Atlanta anymore, and its not the same owners, but a long, long time ago, we did a ATL CoH meetup at Battle & Brew. As far as I know, they are still open. I don't know as they'd let you load Homecoming but if you're looking for a spot it would be a little poetic 🙂
