I would suggest not going to the Furry Bar, but that's just me. I'm not going to judge.

Why should I (or shouldn't I) change to the Homecoming Launcher?
UltraAlt replied to Kartanian's topic in Homecoming Launcher
The Homecoming Launcher is awesome. Automatically updates the clients that you use (live and/or beta). Copies the files from your current install while installing itself. So pretty hassle free on install and use. From my understanding, it is more secure. -
It's because you keep cursing your ISP, and they are out for revenge. I told you about mixing the dark arts and the internet!

I don't know if there is a guide. I know this : your more likely to get on a team if you lead one versus looking for one to join. People are scared of leading; people will pretty much always join a team that you are recruiting for - especially if you continue to recruit over time. There is no minimum level for general mission teams! If it isn't a task force, you can join any level team. You will be more likely to survive one that you are near the same level. You will be more helpful to others if the team is below your level. The higher the level the team is above your characters level, the faster you will level (power-leveling can occur). Most people that recruit will say what level they are willing to have join their team. There are so many abbreviations that people use that it is hard to keep track of them all to be honest. TF - taskforce LFG - a player that is looking for a group LF#M - looking for # more members DFB - Death From Below - a level 1 and up trial good to about level 20. SBB - Summer Blockbuster - two part mini trail - A Bank Heist and a Gladiatorial event. Lots of badges and you get a pick of somethings at the end - the best of which is a universal damage enhancement from the Overwhelming Force Set Radio missions - Missions given to heroes by the Radio scanner that can be picked up at a detective in any city area. Newspaper missions - Missions given to villains by the newspaper Bank or Safeguard mission - a mission which heroes get every 4 scanner missions. Your team stops a bank robbery in a zone with side missions. Bank or Mayhem mission - a mission which villians get every 4 newspaper missions. Your team robs a bank in a zone with side missions including destroying as much of the City as you feel like it - lots of destructibles! XP team - goal of the taskforce is to gain XP Speed run - goal is to do whatever to gain the merits for completion WST - weekly strike target - x2 merits upon completion Farm - A mission that is run over and over again to gain influence (cash!) or levels (aka power-leveling) Often called Task Force Name Contact Min Size Level Range Merits Notes Posi 1 The Rule of the Three (Posi 1) Positron 3 8 to 15 11 Posi 2 Dam Heroes (Posi 2) Positron 3 11 to 16 15 Synapse The Fall of the Clockwork King Synapse 4 15 to 20 58 Long Yin Clamor and Destruction Penelope Yin 5 20 to 25 20 Short Moonfire *The Kheldian War Moonfire 6 23 to 28 32 Citadel Citadel's Children Citadel 6 25 to 30 40 Hess *The MegaMech Cometh Ernesto Hess 6 25 to 30 19 ? Trading Places Mender Silos 1 46 to 50 14 Minor TF with no recipe reward option. The LFG queue system can work to join think like the Summer Blockbuster. Otherwise, it is for the team leader to start something up once a group is assembled. I know some people use it to teleport to the contact for a LFG event. The LFG will only show things that are level appropriate to the character you are currently playing. Trials unlock as you level up Incarnate is level 50+ end-game stuff Taskforce options increase as you level up - check out the above for level ranges. you can always run a taskforce that is a lower level, but you can not join one unless you meet the minimum level requirement. These are given by characters standing at certain places in the city. They are generally for 8 player teams, but many can be accomplished with less than that. when you complete a taskforce you gain merits. Story Arcs are given by contacts out of your contact menu. Once you complete a story arc you gain merits. There are options in the contact menu to find other contacts that are level appropriate. Tips - there are various types of tips. Tips for alignment changing missions. Tips for finding exploration badges. Tips for holiday events. check the Tip tab in your contacts tab! I can go on for days, but I should have gone to sleep 1 1/2 hours ago. Good luck! Oh, I'll add there is no reason for a hero to say they are recruiting for a hero team because there are generally 4-5 (or more) times as many heroes as their are villians on any given server most of the time.

I wouldn't be against the spawn in point be the on the steps on the other side of the pond. With all the 50's running around, it does seem to be the most crowded spawn-in point in THE CITY. -
I'm still pro-clinging, but I like the decoy idea. I do like the sub-power idea though. Short range teleport seems over used. How about superleap for 5-10 seconds? Make it a pet that is invulnerable with taunt and no attacks that wanders away from it's spawn point in a direction directly away from you from that point. Give it like a 15-30 second duration. Throws down a smoke bomb at the end of its time and vanishes. Would be nice if could mirror like a phantom pet, but a generic mastermind Ninja would be fine with me. superspeed and phasing for 5-10 seconds? or is that just way to powerful?

A majority of City of Heroes surfaces are flat and most buildings don't have the kind of overhangs that are see in DCUO building architecture.

Lifestyles of the Rich and (In)Famous - what would you do?

Invest some of it in stock. (takes money to make money) Set-up monthly donations to probably multiple food banks at a sustainable rate for the next 20-40 years. Covering the area that I live in now and expanding outwards as sustainably able. Find some way to donate to public education especially to reading, mathematics, and science education at the K-6th grade level. The foundation of a child's learning is critical to the rest of their life. Most likely have to move someplace else as your name and the city you live in often announced when you win. So I guess I would make that my new lair. Most likely have to quit my job for the same reason as above and put on the mask. Probably donate some to cancer research. And quite possibly use funds to investigate and properly out corrupt politicians and political machinations of such criminals ... using methods as stealthy as possible. Possibly build some sort of low income housing for those that are truly in need. Though I think that this would be a money losing proposition if done properly. Game when I wanted to and get busy on the writing that I never have time to do because of a full time job and my gaming habits. Might have time to build a giant robot suit in my spare time. Space tourism is still too expensive or I might be attracted to that. -
Not the same thing at all. Combat jumping climbs skyscrapers by jumping from window sill to window sill. you can do that with Ninja Run. I have done it with Ninja Run. I can climb to all the areas to get the badges for Atlas Tour Guide with Ninja run except the top of the Atlas Globe. yeah. I can get on top of City Hall with Ninja run; I've done that lots of times. The point is to give infiltration something that the other powers don't have that make it worth taking because players have been indicating that it isn't worth taking as it is. I took it on a character to check it out. It appears to have been put in as the travel power version of Stealth. You lose the defense as soon as you are hit when using infiltration; run stealth and you keep that defense. This shows that infiltration is the power meant to be used as a travel power. It doesn't have the height to jump over things. You don't move all that fast. There is nothing that makes it stand out to make it worth taking as a power. Really, infiltration could have used the double jump mechanic more than leaping. Doesn't make sense to take that back from the leaping pool now. Actual clinging meets what is missing out of a ninja/espionage travel power. Doesn't make any difference if it is actual do-able in game or not. Clinging seems to be what is missing from Infiltration.

Yes. Hence, trying to have clinging added to infiltration versus to superspeed. Also like ninja climbing from walls or hiding in the rafters. I had a Champions character that was encased in forcefield that surrounded their body like sheath. He didn't walk or climb. The force field clinged to any surface he was in contract with and the force field rotated around his body moving him forward. Incidentally, he had chance of going berserk whenever he saw bananas, because an alien race had invaded his planet that looked like bananas that would attach themselves to the back people's neck at the brainstem and take control of their bodies. Along with his other alien abilities - which were crafted to battle against the alien race that looked like earthly bananas - came the ability to see through objects ... as long as they weren't made out of glass. The Lizard of Five Deadly Venoms fame can climb walls. The Creeper from DC can climb walls. We have seen Batman and Robin climb walls even in the tv series. Even Daredevil has to get up on top of those buildings somehow so he can brood in peace. As you can see, in these kind of situations, the wall climbing isn't some kind of super speed thing. They are working their way up a surface ... sometimes to hang out on it in order to look around to see what is going on in the streets below them or to look into windows. And, in pretty much all cases, waiting for a time when they can pounce on those below them. My point being to add something to infiltration that other powers don't have that would make it stand out. I think climbing up on walls is very much in line with sneaking around.

When Windows 10 was launched, Microsoft said it was intended to be the final version of the operating system. But from 14 October 2025, there will be no new updates or security fixes for either the Home or Pro versions.Jun 15, 2021 Somehow standard Microsoft behavior that should have been seen as a lie from the get go. I'm in no rush to change operating systems. It's going to be a year or more before they figure it out. When windows 10 was released Microsoft said my computer was compatible. Toshiba said it was compatible. 3-5 crashes and total reinstalls from windows 8 up, Microsoft and Toshiba say my computer isn't compatible with windows 10. So one would think that everything was okay back at Windows 8.1 ... everything but my graphics card which could no longer play the games that I had been able to play previously. Heck ... recently I tried to load CoH on it. It loaded up and ran for about 5-10 minutes then bailed out and won't run it. The Windows 10 upgraded damaged that computer. I would be in no rush to install Windows 11. That's my advice. They might have it fully stabilized 2 years from now.

There are some big problems with the DCUO superspeed. Too easy to get stuck running loops on lamp posts and overhangs are an issue. I could see it being utilized for superspeed as well, but I think if a super-speedster went below a certain directional progress that it would turn-off (and they would fall from the surface) versus infiltration which would retaining it's clinging until the character turned the power off or left the surface. [Edit :: wording - "...versus infiltration which would retain the character's clinging to a wall or ceiling until the power is turned off or the character has left the surface (ie jumping off of the surface or moving to another surface type; floor, wall, or ceiling)."
