  1. I would like to have a listing indicating if the player's team size like in the friend search. This would allow you to know if a player was soloing or if there is a room on a team that a player maybe be able to join. An indication of team leader status on the search would be beneficial as well as a player would know who they could send a tell to when looking for a team. A search message of "looking for teammates" or "not looking for more team members" or even a status of both would be helpful.
  2. What is fun? To me the fun part is playing a character I created that fits my conception of the character as much as possible. So the power sets depend on that conception. This affects my archetype selection as well as powers. Sometimes I decide that I want to make a tank and created a character conception for a tank. Sometimes I have a character conception and that conception calls upon the use of a tank. That's what make it fun or not fun to me. I don't think any of the tanker sets are complicated compared to the other archetypes.
  3. I usually try to avoid respec'ing. I even go with some character "flavour" mistakes if they happen, and they aren't really penalizing mistakes. But, yeah, respec'ing is a pain. I guess I shouldn't be shocked that X number of people don't use macros. As soon zone into THE CITY with a new character I load on 5 macros. A Heal insp one I load twice. Primary tray flips between tray 1 and tray 2. And a follow and auction house sort of because I'm lazy, but more so for the follow as I use that in my active tray on melee characters. With the exception of the auction house macro, the macros make it easier to play with a controller as the macros I use help eliminate a large amount of keyboard contact based on the way that I play. I usually end up adding in at least 2 or more costume macros when I hit the Icon - which tends to be either almost immediately or before the character gets to level 10. When the character starts teaming a lot, I end up adding in Gratz, Woot, and Thanks macros. I have over 100 characters and had set-up methods before the shutdown to make all the characters basically play the same way regardless of archetype to make it easier when jumping from character to character. The tray are set up so they all operate basically the same with some minor differences that I have other tray related methods to deal with. But back to the macros, the costumes aren't stored on the client side either are they? I mean- unless you manually save them through the taylor yourself. I know that if you manually save them though the taylor that they are still there as I was able to port those files in when I started playing Homecoming. It would kind of cool though to have a "default macro" folder that would automatically upload those default macros to your character during character creation. Well, it would at least be cool to me. But then I would also like to "fix" many of the Nul the Gull potions through the options or simply have many of the Gull's questions asked during character creation instead of having to run to Nul the Gull because of one or another of the annoying things that Nul the Gull is there to solve.
  4. Don't eat that Yellow Snow.
  5. I can't seem to get into the Homecoming Wiki now for some reason, but there a page listing of base codes there. I think there is a thread somewhere in the forums that list base passcodes as well.
  6. Blame it on the Grinch or Scrooge? The DEVs would be my guess. They love to run around stealing presents and who knows what other kind of mischief, but I wouldn't call that holiday spirit ... maybe that's just me ... If it snows in the Rogue Isles it should be dirty and grit-filled from all the smog and industrial pollutants. More like ashes falling from the sky than snow. Oh, and make all surfaces slippery with a chance of knockdown (like 5% or less - which would be pretty annoying enough I'd wager)
  7. My suggestion would be for DEVs and GMs to have permanent statues and to have a wall of Global names for the player base. That seems more manageable .... depressing as it might be to update over time.
  8. - or - This may help ::
  9. Make sure to sell your salvage and recipes on the market to make loot for enhancements. Ask your teammates if they have any spare enhancements, and you will be suprised by the response ... probably in more than one way, but in general, more good than bad.
  10. Apparently, Retconned and no longer the son of Fu Manchu! Travesty! In related comic book farces, Tony Stark is now the adopted son of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne; Sue Storm is married to Namor; Doctor Doom is shacked up with Scarlet Witch after she saved his mother from whatever ethereal spiritual prison she was trapped in; Baby Thor has a mystical baby binky that always returns to his crib when the throws it; and Conan and Red Sonja live happily together in downtown Manhattan in the year 2350. (Finally, flying cars for everyone!) I hate Retcons ... obviously. "Shang-Chi [Marvel's The Hands of Shang-Chi : Master of Kung Fu - not to be confused with the magazine-sized Marvel Deadly Hands of Kung Fu] was spun off from novelist Sax Rohmer's licensed property as the unknown son of fictional villain Fu Manchu. In later editions, his connection to Fu Manchu was underplayed after Marvel lost the comic book rights to the latter's character; to get around this problem, the publisher eventually started calling Shang-Chi's father Zheng Zu." - wikipedia Well, at least it wasn't a Comics Code Authority debacle like zuvembies. "In the 1970s Marvel Comics used the term in place of "zombie", which had been banned by the Comics Code Authority." - wikipedia
  11. Never said that wasn't the case. It doesn't negate what I said was true. You in fact indicate that it is true. Agreed again. Factually observed by me, and I see them listed as still being listed. I do a lot of crafting. Sometimes I even see a set of bids on the same character where each of the separate bids are for the same thing are showing random amounts of purchased item ... and in the middle of multiple bids ... one that hasn't been able to buy any ... when all are set for the same price.
  12. I see stuff like this all the time. Could be buggy. Could be legit. I often pay more than what things are selling for on the market. I sell my white and yellow salvage for 1 inf. I buy white for 10,000 inf and yellow for 50,000 inf. So the Auction House could show my posted as 1 inf sell as 1 inf while directly next to is one I bought for 10k or 50k inf. It could be that someone had 18 posts to buy at 11,111 inf. Someone posted to sell below that price (assuming trying to make more money by not paying the auction house. After posting one at such a low price they posted another one for a higher price. Someone saw the last bid, tried to get it one for the lower price and may have accidentally purchased it at the price with the additional 1. What I have seen things that I have posted at a set price and thing sell for a much lower price. I have also seen things showing have sold for a much lower price when I know I have bids on the market at a higher price. The recording does seem to be glitchy sometimes. I think there are some stealth factors going on as well. Not only can someone be posting something on the market for a low price showing a sudden low purchase if the last bid up is a low one, but the market seeds itself, so it is also throwing stuff up on the market. At what price? You would have to do your own testing to determine, but sometimes it reveals itself. Is the seeding for this item coming in at or below 11,111 inf or was a player posting below that? I have the feeling that the DEVs are also changing the inbound seed price from time-to-time. I won't say more, because when it comes down to it, people would consider me to be one of the Ebil Marketers. .... I better run while I can ! ....
  13. I don't think I'm the only one that doesn't play end-game. This is true in end-game play. It isn't true during game play. If you would have said Sleep (any) then I would have agreed with you. Again. End-game vs game play. Empathy : Absorb pain - I'm not an empath! I'm a masochist! Dominator : Energy Transfer - it is true that one would think a dominator would be more sadist than a masochist. Stalker : Energy Transfer - https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Energy_Melee#Energy_Transfer - "... Unlike other Stalker primary attack powers, Energy Transfer cannot land a Critical Hit. However, if this attack is executed successfully while Hidden, you can avoid the hit point loss to yourself and deal a massive blow with no penalty" Perhaps if the Dominator has Domination running, then perhaps they shouldn't take the hit point damage. https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Dominator "...Additionally, each time a Dominator attacks, he comes closer to unleashing his true sadistic power of Domination. ..." It is clear that this is not the Dark set's "nuke". Blackstar is the nuke. I think it is far to late for a name change or swap though. Would have been a good idea if caught in beta. Thumbs down on this. I like using my ranged powers. Knock back keeps them away from me until I'm ready to rush in for a melee attack. In which case, I'm trying to knock them back again. You can always slot Sudden Acceleration: Knockback to Knockdown if you don't like the knockback. Besides, knockback is great fun when you have a tank that thinks that they should be the center of attention .. ALL THE TIME, because, you know, they are the tank. Most of Mind Control is sleep related. As soon as they are disturbed they are free of the sleep. I think sleep is mostly for stealthing versus combat or when you have teammates that aren't spamming everything with AoEs. But, the really obvious one is :: Mind Control: Telekinesis. Originally, it was a "grant teammate flight" power. But now it is, "Lifts a foe, and any nearby foes, off the ground and repels them. The targets are helpless, unable to take action, and will continue to hover away, picking up any passing targets, as long as you keep this power active. Keeping up this level of concentration costs a lot of Endurance." Yep, floating off down the hallway or wherever, agro'ing more and more enemies until you turn it off. Seems bad? Oh, just use in a Kill All! There is no telling where the enemies will run off to once you turn it off. Gravity : Dimensional Shift? Has its uses. Another thread was talking about Stealth: Evasion being pretty useless. You lose all the defense bonus if you go into combat. Teleport: Team teleport - prank your team. Teleport them all a short distance against their will! (HINT :: Go see Nul the Gull to stop these teleporting pranksters!) Flight: Group Fly - much better than it used to be apparently, but haven't bothered to check I think you are misusing a term. Are you meaning "end-game"? Around here, there are always going to be people that disagree with you, but don't let that stop you from saying what you feel you need to say.
  14. Some people say it would be nice for a place for people to Make Connections to RP. Some just ignore it when it's there.
  15. Or I guess the DEVS could add a search status for Role-playing versus the other status for seeking teams. Doesn't seem that that many really care what status you are in, so you could just put "looking for roleplaying" in there and see who bites the bait.
  16. Sometimes I don't even know why I bother. Oh, I remember. Some people are actually happy when someone tries to help rather than insulting them.
  17. I think that's about as close as you can get to something glowing without "bleeding". The auras really "bleed" a lot more on the fists.
  18. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but... Checked, you can use this full body. With aura ... You can also two tone the spectrum parts.
  19. Depending on your settings, the voids and quantums only show up one at a time. I'm running in a WS and PB duo with sometimes another WS in the mix. When a Quantum or Void shows up ... they become the main target to go down first .... just the same as other groups ... go for the Tsoo Sorcerer first, take out the Sky Raider Engineer first, destroy all the Devouring Earth pet spawns first, Vazh Mortificator first, etc. Kheldians were the EPIC archetype, so it was supposed to be more of a challenge to play them than the other archetypes. Of course, back then, you have to have a character reach level 50 before they unlocked, so you were assumed to have some skill with the game and were looking for a greater challenge.
  20. lol. I loved that stuff! Brings a lot of random chaos/excitement. I think Kheldians still do leave a stank on teams after they leave, but Q's are not that dangerous to non-Kheldians.
  21. Aura>Glow>Eyes doesn't "bleed" much. Kinda pokes out if you look at it from the side, but looks pretty good strait on.
  22. Have a base to share? List it on the base list or give them a key. /macro Key "enterbasefrompasscode BASENAME-####" Where BASENAME-### is the passcode for your base This works near a base portal or when using the fast transport to get to a base For more information :: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Base_Access_Passcode
