No. Let me be grumpy. I'm still waking up and could have used some more sleep.

You mean that to you the actual game is the the worst part of this game?! Level 1-50 is the game. The rest is tacked onto the end of the game - hence "end-game" content. Most of the content is level 1-50. Go sit in an AE farm and get power-leveled if you want to avoid actually playing the game. You should feel good about the way you want to play "this game", but, honestly, players like you are one of the factors that drove me to cancel my subscription before the Sunset. This is City of Heroes, CoH, CoX, or THE CITY; it is not "this game". If you need to call it "this game", then you really aren't playing it. But you have made that obvious by stating that you don't like playing the game and only want to "end game". Yes. Personally, I hate the end-game. I only play the game part of City of Heroes if I can help it. Yes. We called them AE babies. I still call them AE babies. They are born in the AE and stay in it like a womb until they are level 50. I'm not even going to bother reading. Sorry. This has been all hashed out before. People can get power-leveled in the AE to level 50. They do. Everyday. All the time. and multiple times on the weekends. There is no challenge, nor is there anything special about getting to level 50 in City of Heroes because of the AE. It isn't some badge of being special to have a level 50 any more. It is a feeling of accomplishment to actually play the game and get to level 50. However, you have noted that people like you don't want to have that feeling of accomplishment. My guess is that you just want to have all the powers and that makes you feel good. Good for you. You should enjoy the game the way that it is enjoyable for you. That being said. If you want to bypass leveling - go door sit in the AE. That is the method to bypass leveling. It is already part of the game due to players like you. Enjoy it.

Power Pool > Presence > Provoke (Targeted AoE, Foe Taunt) You can get it at level 4 It takes Taunt Enhances. When you have established that a fight is absolutely necessary, you step up to take the lead, provoking the attention of several targets at a targeted location. Use this to pull the attention of your foes off of an ally in trouble. This provocation effect is not as powerful as similar powers used by Tankers, and also has a chance to miss. https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Presence

Focused Feedback: Changes to Sleep and Placate
UltraAlt replied to Booper's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
... and/or defense debuff. a "groggy" state for 5-10 seconds until they can shake it off. -
Both are pretty obvious names. I'm surprised that NorthStar wasn't nerfed or blocked as it is obviously a Marvel character. Hercules is generic enough that no one should feel like they have any right to have that name for their own and should feel lucky that they were able to get it. I see no reason anyone should willingly give up the name.

I don't really understand this reference so I can't really make too much of a statement based on that. What I can say is that I create a character based on a character conception that may or may not revolve around a sets powers. Most of the time I have a character conception and my power picks are based on my character conception and not the powers that are "cookie-cutter"/"optimal"/"mini-maxed" in the power set. So use of AoEs or not using AoEs on a build is more based on my character conception. Now once I get into playing the character and leveling up, I may see that the ability to be primarily single target or AoE heavy based on what make sense out of the power set picks that I feel match my character conception. My blasters, sentinels, scrappers, stalkers, masterminds, defenders, and corruptors tend to be single target. My tanks, controllers, and dominators tend to be AoE. And that is "tend to be". For example :: in my character conceptions sonic isn't so pinpoint targets and is more an AoE/cone because it is screaming/singing/whatnot in a certain direction. But getting around to the first point, I pick the character that I play/create when I log into the game ... but I have over 100 characters and play on all the servers. I'm kind of thinking that there must be some relation in what you are saying in regard to your attraction to a character that is something that you wouldn't ordinarily think is fun to play. On that level, there may be other factors to make it fun to play. I could be additionally due to the other people you are playing with or some other connection to the character. I, however, am one to believe that the power sets and power selections aren't picking you to be the physical manifestation that allows them to interact inside of the CoH game environment.

It is very useful to those of us that had to tweak our game settings because Nvida's Geoforce didn't use to be able to tweak game settings on its own. Now Nvidia works with game manufacturers to set-up optimal settings for their games based on the specs of the Nvidia hardware on yours system that it knows are on your computer (you can set it automatically scan for game on start up or you can set it so it will only scan for new games manually when you tell it to do so). You can still change the settings, but it Geoforce will can automatically optimize the settings on many games. This is in the Geforce Experience. This is also handled through Geforce Experience. The game recording settings are handled through the Geforce Experience. Setting for this also handled in the Geforce experience. I'm assuming this is handled through the Geforce experience as well. Part of it is for monitoring how the card is behaving for the games on your system as feedback so that the can determine if there are issues with their hardware/software so that they can improve everyone's gaming experience. If you don't have the bandwidth and don't want the functions that can be very helpful, then I can see how you would be annoyed. On the other hand, you are disabling features that could allow your Nvidia card to function in what very well could be more optimal settings that what you are using. CoH tries to use an outdated version of PhysX. PhysX on current cards surpasses and bypasses the kind of PhysX that CoH is set-up to use. Just saying that I'm siding with working with G-Force ... or Science Ninja Team Gatchaman ... if you are old school like that ...

On some level there I think you are mistaken. I think your stance is also about people working as a team and letting the leader lead.

Obviously. Could always try for U(capital i)traVio(capital i)ent? Maybe people never ran into Parallel Illusion in the old days? As I recall they were a PVP group. All with the same "looking" name. Same costume and size. I have had two character names out of my 100+ characters that was already taken. One a friend had taken to hold onto for me until I decided to start playing. The other one - which was created for a project outside of gaming, that I had before the sundown on CoH, and I have in DCUO - was taken on Torchbearer (might not be taken on the other servers, but I haven't bothered looking). Tweaked part of the name and worked sent through the first time. Obviously, if the name isn't very creative, it's obvious. If it's obvious, obviously it has already been taken. Now I'm wondering if Obvious and Obviously are taken. Better grab Obviousman and Obvious Lad while you can ... or Obvious Jr (Junior?) Obviously Ultraviolent

For sure. From my point of view, they threw out the baby and keep the bath water. And then they had the nerve to retcon the RPG to fit the rules they used for the MMORPG (which were originally for their Marvel Universe game).

I'm assuming you have FSAA turned off. If you access options for the graphics card, try setting the card to let the game decide how to handle performance versus quality. Other option would be set to default, see if that takes care of it, and then increase settings from there.
-
I think there is a lot of prejudice brought to this statement. There are options to mitigate and the Nvidia software is a every powerful tool that I use aspects of pretty much every time I use my computer. There might be some drawbacks, but it seems like shooting yourself in the foot because your shoes look like everyone else's.
-
Or people could just discuss the topic versus bring preconceived bias to the conversation. Some people in the forums at this point just seem to be out to get certain people for whatever reason.
-
-
Well, that too is bad behavior. Bad behavior on their part doesn't excuse other people's bad behavior.
-
The OP was serious about their post. And I think they have a good point. To me there was nothing silly about it.
-
I saw what was being done in the post. It was making a mockery of the OP. Apparently, other post was as well. Very trolly of them. And I don't judge other people for that they do unless it is ruining other people's fun. I have read the entire thread other than those that I have on ignore. It seem you are intentionally being trolly as well.

His back story is just out there wide in the open and swingin the breeze for everyone to see.

Life is too short not to use the ignore button in some cases. I perhaps use it to liberally, but I don't have to deal with people that I feel are behaving badly. First time I went to a chat room on netscape about work related business with colleagues, one guy immediately jumped to the keyboard and begin typing in the most obnoxious stuff possible to annoy everyone else intentionally and then got into a word battle with them... on the company account. Yes. Trolls do exist. The guy was giggling happily as he was intentionally annoying other people ... on the company account. The guy is pretty much a jerk in real life as well. Other people were laughing along with him because we as an alpha bully type. I'm just sitting there thinking how bad it was making the company look but not being out number in the situation. Oddly enough (or is that "obviously for good reason"?), the company held no more group access to the internet with the company account to discuss business related ideas with people in the same field.

Agreed. I rarely use the Ouro. I agree. It appears to be another reason that NoPantsMan is seen to be a villain in most countries around the world.

As long as you don't use XP buffs from the P2W, I don't think you outlevel content at +2 level. It was so long ago, but I think that before the noterity thing there was a way to set it at a couple of different difficulty levels and +2 is the equivalent of what is the highest level that was originally intended to be set up too. I think it can go without saying that you can always go and do missions below your level in the Ouroboros and it will set your character to the intended arc level until you complete the content. This seems to fit with the "read-all" mind set. Do your teams do a lot of roleplaying chat in general during your missions?
-
That is what someone else said, but I haven't checked it out yet. I haven't made a new alt since then. It's been a busy week. I usually start out at +1, 1 and then move up as the character is able to handle it. I was usually on +2, 2 as soon as slotted with SO's, but I wait to get a couple more powers at this point since SO's are available so low at this point. I progress difficulty from there. Setting to a level to make it difficult but not impossible to beat for solo or the team that I'm with. I know others that do that. I know this one player that will copy-and-paste everything into /team that the rest of the team can't see ... if you let them. I can see how that can be fun to read everything (the DEVs did take time to put there for people to read), but I usually don't take the time to do it most of the time. Especially the clues. I hardly ever read those ... even though I take time to write them out in AE missions that I create.
-
And, yet, you continue to post a complaint about other people who are - in your viewpoint - complaining and, meanwhile, asserting you are superior. That does not show maturity. I'm wondering just how old you are. Many of us are well over 50.
-
I would suggest warning the team in general in /team before kicking someone. I usually give the players three chances.... unless they are being a complete jerk and did something that warned against people doing and their actions cause a total team wipe. They get kicked immediately. If they want to know why they were kicked, I tell them that they were warned. If their first tell is that I'm a [insert insult here] for kicking them, then I put them on ignore. The players that are truly jerks intentionally are few and far between in THE CITY .. the heroes part at least. I don't play much on the Villain side and I don't start in Praetoria (hard to avoid Praetorian missions as they get mixed in with normal content at a certain level.
