Works better simply to put those on ignore that offend you. I'm not going to jail a whole town just because of a couple of bank-robbing, leg-breaking villains are committing crimes in it.
-
Less than 30% of the population is villains. There is no need for the heroes to identify that they are running a hero team when recruiting when 70% of the players are playing heroes. And, yes, one expect villainy from villains so of course they are complaining. So rough got get arrested for doing crimes. I know, villains, you don't deserve to pay the time for your crimes. As for the Praetorians, I'm glad all those that play Praetorians have posted on this thread. Why you don't want to be "gold" for your selfless act of being Praetorians can not be understood for by non-Praetorians. Heroes! You know what I say is true. No need to say blue. If you have to type four letters make them be "hero" instead of "blue". You don't even have to type "side" /macro LFT "lfg Level $level $archetype hero looking for team." No need to bow down to the 30% that want to be villians. Because, after all, they are villains.

Focused Feedback: Stance Selection
UltraAlt replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Great to be able to use Ninja animations in jumps and superspeed or when not using a travel power (so zero end). I was hoping that "athletic" was a new animation set, but I like how it is working. -
I think you are confusing the Pocket D VIP pass with the Pocket D VIP Gold Club Member Badge. The Pocket D VIP Gold Club Member Badge was a perk for buying the Good versus Evil edition. This has never been on Homecoming. The Pocket D VIP pass (which is the icon that is used for the Pocket D teleporter here on Homecoming) which was always based on spending 1 hour in the Pocket D <-- this was never account wide. You could purchase it from the P2W vendor. Now it falls under the Long Range Teleport power (unlocking one exploration accolade unlocks this - just ran around in Atlas for the Atlas Tour Guide Accolade and it took about 5 minutes). To gain the Pocket D teleport under the Long Range Teleporter, you only have to have one exploration badge in the Pocket D. This is simply not hard to do. (I am not complaining and I'm working through my 70+ characters to unlock it on all of them in preparation for the change on live) I also forgot to point out that they are not taking away the base teleport that can take you from your base directly to the Pocket D. Check out my post :: UltraAlt's Guide to preparing for the removal of the base teleport macro

I will start out by saying that I have never liked the use of the terms Blue and Red in regards to which "side" a character is on or looking for a group. (no need to go into you Praetorians as you are all but non-existent, but enjoy playing the game the way you like). I feel the use of Blue and Red undermines what the game is about. Heroes fighting against the forces of evil and villainy. This is why City of Heroes was created. I'm not trying to knock those that want to play villains. The game aspect is there. Enjoy it if you like it, but you are a villain and not "red". So where did this red/blue thing come from? It's pretty simple. Red is 3 letters. Villain is 7 letters. People are lazy. (Especially villains?) Hero is 4 letters, and so is blue. No advantage to a hero to call themselves blue unless they are sad. With less than 30% of the population being villains, there is no reason for heroes to bother adding "blue" when asking for teams. It can be assumed that you are looking for a hero team. (and certainly not a Praetorian team. Sorry Praetorians.) Villains can keep saying "red" because they are too lazy to type "villain" or to avoid admitting that they are playing villains. If you are "red", you are a villian. City of HEROES. Not City of BLUES.

Currently, rotating in-base entry portal does not change the direction that you enter your base. I know I could figure out which way (alll) base portals are ejecting character, and build my bases around which direction my characters are exiting the base portal, but I would like to simply be able to rotate the base portal to change which direction the characters exit from it. I don't know how much a hassle this will be. I don't know if it has ever even been looked at. For me, it always ends up being to be to cause characters to exit to the left when entering a base due to the way that I set up my bases. I always thought I was going directly into a base when creating it, pulling the in-base portal to the side of the map nearest me, but, apparently, I need to move the portal to the right of the screen so I will be focusing going into my base, but I think rotating the base portal (any in base portal for that matter) to change the direction of the exit from the portal would be more aesthetically pleasing.

if they did a mission a day, then that would mean they are logging in everyday, so none of renaming standards listed would open up the name for someone else. You're logic is flawed.
-
As far as I know there is one. If you are under level 10 and you haven't logged in for 20 days or something, the name is up for grabs.

Mission "Check call boxes" does not say what zone it is in. Neither in the nav box nor in the mission dialog. I had moved out of the zone where the pharmacy robbery took place (at least I think that is where this character is in the arc), I'm thinking maybe Skyway? But the information doesn't say where it is located.

Time to get creative. I have names that I had on live that I can't get on the servers that I want to game on. I don't complain about it. I just make another name. If people are squatting names, that sucks. Use it; if you've got it. I used to have the same character name on all the live servers for one character name and on a bunch of them for another. I played all the characters, just some more than others - but that goes for all my alts.

It appears to work from near the Rapid Response Portal. I don't have a base passcode for another base that is not my own on test. But it works for my own base's base macro. When I try to use the base macro away from a portal that gives base access, I get this error :: "This command can only be used inside a Supergroup Base or near a Supergroup Portal." It appears that if you go into your own sg base, you can use the base macro to travel to someone else's supergroup base. Using the base macro for my own base when in my own base, respawns me to my own base. In case someone needs it for testing on Beta, my base macro is :: /macro base "enterbasefrompasscode KEEPITSIMPLE-124" I would also like to point out again, any method that takes you to a supergroup base allows you to enter a passcode, so you don't have to have the macro but only the passcode to get in. Of course, you have to manually enter it. But you could say, make a macro to talk the passcode into a chat channel, copy it, and then paste it into the passcode once you activate the teleporter. Example being the Monitor Duty day job (supergroup transporter) which does not spawn a portal, but takes you directly to a base.

Who Would Win A Fight? Superman vs Goku
UltraAlt replied to CU_Krow's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
Maybe about the part where he died and trained in the Land of the Dead before being resurrected by the Dragon Balls. I would say that there is a pretty magical component to both. Maybe it would be best just to stop all alien versus alien violence. -
Focused Feedback: Teleportation Pool Revamp
UltraAlt replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
What? Like say Combat Jumping and Super Jump or Hover and Flight? The two powers have different uses. Combat teleport is short range and comes with a to-hit buff. Teleport doesn't have a buff and it is longer ranged travel. The same way Combat Jumping and Hover have a defense bonus with minor travel ability, and flight and mighty leap don't add a buff but they are quicker travel. -
Tested today. Made a new character. Did not purchase any P2W teleport powers. Went to the Pocket D. Couldn't find the "Big Time" exploration badge (I couldn't figure out how to get to where Paragon Wiki says it is located because I was too sleepy to click the link showing me where it was located apparently). Went into the Ski Lodge and gained the "Trucker" exploration badge. Went to Talos, and gained the Minotaur badge. Went to Atlas and gained the Atlas Tour Guide Accolade. Character now has access to the Long Range Teleporter with access to Atlas, Talos, and the Pocket D

To me (always needless to say, but often necessary for clarity), the melee in blasters either the "keep away from me" or finisher power. The game is built on teaming, so if you say have a tank taunting a large group, or a controller wormholing a bunch of bad guys (yeah, that's you villians) into a pile (which disorients them) or a control say sleeps all of them. Then you can walk, run, jump, teleport, or fall out of the sky into the group of enemies and let fly with a NOVA and immediately flee from the area. Seems to work for me and I kinda don't think that I'm the only one.

We know that the removal of the base macro is coming soon (tm), so I am preparing for when the change goes live. We all know at this point that it is huge advantage to instantly TP to a Base in order to get around. Not only is are the DEVs making it (pretty much) equally easy to get to a Supergroup base as it was before plus adding in a long range (zone) teleporter, allowing you to spawn your own base portals that others can use, and the O-Portal can be used at any level. Base portals have been moved and you will spawn at the base portal when you spawn to a zone through your base teleporter. First off, the Nexus for the Hero side seems to be at Talos Island. The base portal is directly in front of the tram, the Wormhole portal is in the same area, and there is Wentworths just behind the Tram. If it happens you are not in a supergroup (one you created or one you are part of that has all the teleportation sites set-up), then Talos is the place to go to get around. New characters and characters that have not already performed any of these, I am doing these in order 1) Parking (logging off) at the Base Portal until I have the Monitor Duty day job. 2) Work on the Atlas Tour Guide Accolade (or any zone accolade you will need only one) by getting the following exploration markers in Atlas - this will unlock the Long Range Teleporter when it goes live. --a) Almost directly in the middle of the north side of the map near the war wall, go to the building to the left of the movie theater and hotel if facing north. It is near the television antenna that is closest to the war wall on the first, right-side roof level of a building. --b) Near the water tower on the building north east of Wentworths --c) in front of Henry Peter Wong on the north east side of the base portal --d) on top of City Hall by the flag --e) Inside City Hall, near the statue just to the left of the supergroup registry desk. --f) Inside City Hall, downstairs in the DATA office. In the back, near the elevator leading to the PVP portal. --g) on top of the globe in front of City Hall --h) On the southside of the map to the north of the Hazard Zone entrance, go into the Vanguard building (marked with a V on the map), go up the left stairs and immediately turn to the left and go up to the observation window looking into a lab. 3) Get your Patrol XP by parking anywhere outdoors until you get the Patroller day job. You should already have had enough time in to have gained the Monitor Duy day job so this should unlock the Rapid Response Member Accolade 4) Start parking back at the base portal again to gain charges on the supergroup base teleporter (you can gain up to 30) 5) Park at Wentworths to get the Day Trader day job badge. Continue parking there and gain charges on the WentWorths Teleporter (you can gain up to 30). Teleports you to a Wentworths in the zone of your choosing. (You will no longer be able to buy these through the Auction House once the change takes place) 6) Purchase at the P2W vendor under teleport - if you have enough loot, I suggest purchasing them all. (P2W vendor>Prestige Powers>Travel>teleport) --a) Assemble the Team - teleports your teammates to your location if they are in the same zone --b) Base Transporter - teleports you to your base --c) Mission Transport - teleports you to a door mission even if it is in another zone. Mission must be actively selected and showing up on the Nav window. --d) Pocket D Teleporter - teleports you to the Pocket D. (You can also get this by hanging out in the Pocket D for 1 hour) --e) Team Transporter (aka tt) - brings in a flying vehicle that grants you and your teammate the ability to transport to an actively selected door mission (aka showing up on the Nav window). If your teammates don't get the option, there is lag or they aren't close enough to the vehicle. 7) Travel around and get at least one exploration badge in each zone you would like the ability to directly teleport to. This won't do anything now, but it will once the changes go live. (The easiest exploration marker in Talos for me to find is the one in front of the Minotaur statue on the square upraised part between the steps directly in front of the statue. You practically have to land on it to get it or see it) 😎 Once the changes go live, if you have done the above: 1) parking at the base portal will gain you charges of Monitor Duty Teleporter (which is the replacement of the personal supergroup teleporter) 2) parking or patrolling will give you charges of Rapid Response Portal which allows you to spawn a Supergroup Portal that you or teammates (anyone?) can use. 3) Ouroboros Portal can be used at any level (so I felt it necessary to prep for that as you can easily get it once the changes go live) 4) By gaining the Atlas Tour Guide Accolade (or any zone accolade for that matter), you will have done what is necessary to unlock the Long Range Teleporter. This will give you the ability to teleport to any zone that you have at least one exploration. It can also teleport you to your base and use the base passcode option (I think any teleporter that takes you to a base gives you this option). I don't know for sure about how the charges will carry over after the changes go live, but it will set-up for if they do and put you in position to be able to gain charges immediately if not. I hope this is helpful.

Totally clear now. I was tired when I was trying to read it. Would read better as New Accolade: Long Range Teleporter Long Range Teleporter Long Range Teleport has been removed from the Teleportation pool and is now an Accolade power 2s activation time, 10 minute cooldown (activation time is longer in PvP) Activation time reduced from 12s to 2s One zone exploration accolade is needed to unlock the power itself Collecting any exploration badge in a zone will unlock it as a destination Every zone with a base portal can be unlocked as a Long Range Teleporter destination (see the above list for reference) Long Range Teleporter drops you at the base portal in the target zone Long Range Teleporter can also take you to your base, and allows you to use /enterbasefrompasscode to enter any base Known issue: Most of the text relating to this feature is outdated
