That's a false argument. No non-melee AT is forced to be dependent on a melee. I did a +4 ITF a couple of nights ago on a Dual Pistols/Dark Miasma Corruptor with a Tanker and two Brutes on the team. On the last mission, who tanked Romulus? I did. I used Darkest Night and pulled him to a specific corner, where he happily kept wailing on me and missed the entire time. That's just one example. I've tanked AVs and GMs plenty of times on Blasters and other "squishy" ATs. FWIW, there's no such thing as "Squishy" in City of Heroes anymore. It's an old term that no longer holds relevance in the game.

Considering one lets you have the powers of Tyrant, yes, they're completely unbalanced.

Every character obtains the entire Fitness power pool at level two. You already have it.

I formed an Apex TF on Excelsior server this evening. When the first mission started, I clicked on the door on the rooftop, (the one that most people don't know about). The cursor turned into a hourglass... but then about ten seconds later, turned back to normal. Nothing happened. It wasn't lag, because I could see new chatter and I could talk to my team. I tried again. The cursor turned into a hourglass again... and then went back to normal several seconds later. So this time I tried the chopper. Same thing. Tried the chopper again. Same thing. I tried the door again. Same thing. By this point, everyone else is inside the mission. So I restarted my game. I clicked on the door on the rooftop. The cursor turned into a hourglass... and then turned normal again several seconds later. Tried the chopper again, same thing. Restarting the game did not help. At this point, everyone quit the TF and we reformed. That worked.

Over the past several months, I've seen quite a few people allege that Dark Miasma is a second tier support set in endgame and not nearly as good as Cold Domination, Radiation Emission, nor (now) Trick Arrow. Why, exactly, is this? I recall Dark Miasma being considered one of the top tier prior to sunset.

As far as I am concerned, there is no need for this. Whenever I create a new Blaster, Corruptor, or Defender, I keep Defense Amplifier on it at all times from there on in. It means restocking every eight hours, but big deal. Paying for Defense Amplifier every eight hours of in-game time also keeps inflation down. I know some will go, "Paying 20 million INF for eight hours of Defense Amplifier at level 50 is too much!" No, it isn't. I can get that in about a hour of play, sometimes less if I'm lucky. No farming required. This is a problem already solved looking for a solution.

From what I understand, there is some sort of technical issue that prevents the addition of any new NPCs to SG bases, and it sounds like a complicated one. So don't expect any new NPCs any time soon, if ever.

Your best bet for a solo Defender would be Dark Miasma, Radiation Emission, or Time Manipulation. All three are very safe (especially Time Manipulation), and have decent debuffs, (Radiation Emission is best in that department). For secondary, a lot of people like Sonic, but I would not go that way if you intend to solo. Instead, I'd recommend Beam Rifle (which has decent debuffs in its own right), Dual Pistols (nice mix of single target and ranged damage and versatile), or Water Blast, (a lot of AoE and very safe).

Yep. Out of the melee ATs, I only play Brutes and Tankers. This is one of the reasons why.

From what I recall (and I may well be off here), Radiation Melee and Radiation Armor were in the database in the Issue 24 beta, but had no or few animations to go with them as Paragon Studios didn't get a chance to finish them.

Awesome! I'm very happy to hear that someone else is finally regularly running instanced Rikti mothership raids. They are so much better than the zone version, IMO. FWIW, the person who gets stuck with "considering another offer" doesn't need to relog. Just have him or her go to another zone, any zone. PI, Ouroboros, Grandville, wherever. That will clear it, and you will be able to invite him or her.

Captain Powerhouse has specifically stated a couple of times over the past two years that he believes any Scrapper armor set having a taunt aura was a mistake and that any new Scrapper armor set will not have a taunt aura. So the chances of this happening are exactly zero.

Do you want to hit hard *and* debuff hard? Here you go. It's my solo GMs go to. Speaking of debuffs. Archery/Trick Arrow Corruptor. Do you like debuffs? 'Cause it's got debuffs. AVs and GMs will just melt like butter. Thugs/Time Manipulation Mastermind. Three words: Permanent Gang War. It's so beautiful. Claws/Energy Aura Scrapper. Strong and pretty. Kinetic Melee/Energy Aura Stalker. You can't see me hit you like a truck.

A lot of Defender buffs and debuffs are overkill, and you'll do more damage on a team as a Corruptor, (sometimes a lot more). And damage is king.
