  1. If you want mez protection, use the Defense Amplifier. It's temporary and expensive, but it's supposed to be. It's an INF sink, and your suggestion would lead to INF inflation.
  2. Being kicked from blue side teams as a Rogue when either you or someone else goes to Ouroboros or a supergroup base is a very, very longstanding bug that has been in the game since prior to sunset. It's quite annoying. It's why I generally don't join blue side mission teams as I only change my characters' alignment from Rogue when absolutely necessary, and I don't see running blue side missions as necessary. FWIW, you don't get kicked from TFs as a Rogue, only regular missions. You should have been able to form a team in Dark Astoria though when everyone was in the zone.
  3. Out of Energy Aura, Invulnerability, and Willpower, what would you consider to be the best Brute or Tanker for tanking Rikti mothership raids? And what melee damage set?
  4. The problem with Claws is lethal damage. I like the looks of it, and I like the feel of it... but all of the lethal damage resistance just makes me want to play something else.
  5. A Very Rikti Christmas 2020 When: Thursday, December 17th, 2020 Time: 8:30 P.M. ET/5:30 P.M. PT Where: Instanced Rikti Mothership Raid Trial Hello, Excelsior. Christmas is coming. What is a better way to celebrate the holidays than to smash Rikti with loved ones? Everyone will gather in the instanced Rikti Mothership Raid trial on Thursday, December 17th, at 8:30 P.M. ET / 5:30 P.M. PT. We will then proceed to raid the Rikti mothership. All level 35+ characters with the Member of Vanguard badge are welcome. However, I request that you wear a winter holiday themed costume, and use of the Build Snow Beast temporary power during the mothership raid is encouraged. Whomever gets the kill shot on U'Kon Gr'ai will win an one billion INF prize. Whomever gets the kill shot on the Rikti drop ship will also win an one billion INF prize. That's two billion INF in prizes! I hope to see y'all there!
  6. I meant the same as a couple of months ago. And while AT proliferation lowered red side retention, it didn’t kill it as I play red side exclusively.
  7. Welcome back. Red side population is about the same, at least on Excelsior. There are red side teams out there though, again at least on Excelsior.
  8. Anything /Dark or /Rad is great at soloing. Fire Blast, Water Blast, Ice Blast are all great primaries for soloing.
  9. I am not a fan of titles, but I do use badges.
  10. What I can almost guarantee happened then is that the SG base map was shutting down due to inactivity. Any map, whether zone or instance, shuts down after a period of inactivity. I want to say a half hour, give or take. If you happen to try to enter said map (again zone or instance), just as the map is being shut down by the game, that will happen. You'll get a message about being forcibly disconnected from the server and the game will close. It's rare, but it does happen.
  11. Was the crash before or after you selected the SG base to enter?
  12. Sure. 1. The instanced map is about half the size of the regular Rikti War Zone. Because there is much less of stuff going on on the map for the game to keep track of, there is usually much less lag during an instanced Rikti mothership raid in comparison to a zone Rikti mothership raid. IIRC, a developer once said last year that an instanced MSR uses about a third of the server's resources in comparison to a zone MSR. You can see and feel it. 2. Because the map is cut in half, the hospital is at the Point du Hoc Vanguard compound. If you die and don't get a rez, you can just hospital it and get back into the action much more quickly as the hospital is much closer to the mothership. 3. There is a guaranteed Rikti drop ship spawn. The first Pylon destroyed in the instanced MSR will spawn the Rikti drop ship. There's no chance involved. 4. No matter where you are on the map or how far away from the rest of your teammates you are, you will still get Vanguard merits. One of the issues with the zone MSR is that pullers typically get fewer Vanguard merits than the rest of their teammates, sometimes substantially fewer. That effectively penalizes pullers, who are vital to any MSR. That is not an issue with the instanced MSR. 5. Some will see this as a negative, but everyone in the league is level 35+. Since there are no lowbies, everyone is contributing to the mothership raid, and they tend to end with more XP, more INF, and more Vanguard merits than most zone MSRs. 6. You can actually kick troublemakers and griefers. Sure, you can kick troublemakers from the league in zone MSRs, but they can still stay around the mothership and grief or cause trouble. Not with the instanced MSRs. Kick them, and they are gone. Thankfully, I've only had to do this twice in thirteen months, but it's nice to know that the option is there when needed. 7. People can do other things in the Rikti War Zone without worrying about your mothership raid, and vice versa. This is especially helpful on large servers like Excelsior, where there are typically Apex TFs, Tin Mage TFs, and Lady Grey TFs being run at all times of the day. After instanced MSRs were added to the game, I simply have been unable to bring myself to do a zone MSR.
  13. I organized the beta tests of the instanced Rikti mothership raid back in September 2019, and have been running it two or three times per week on Excelsior since it went live in October 2019. I want to share a tip that occurred to me last week, and I successfully tried tonight. Outside of the level 35+ and Member of Vanguard badge requirements, the most common complaints I've heard from other Rikti mothership raid leaders are: You have to check everyone's badges to make sure that they have the Member of Vanguard badge. The league gets scrambled when entering the instance. People get dropped from the league when entering the instance. There is no Unabashed exploration badge. For #4, the Unabashed exploration badge is being added to the instanced Rikti mothership raid as of Issue 27, Page 1. So that will no longer be an issue. I discovered a second solution for the second and third issues (for the first solution, see this thread), as well as a solution for the first issue. Lock your league, and queue up for the instanced Rikti mothership raid trial by yourself. Once you are inside the instance, you can invite people to the instance, by typing: /i <Name> There's no need to check anyone's badges, as they will need the Member of Vanguard badge in order to enter the instance in the first place. There's no scrambling of the league nor people dropping from the league, as the instance has already been created and people will join the league when they enter the instance. You don't have to worry about directing people to a different zone, as you can invite people into the instance no matter what zone they are in. People can fight level 54 mobs in the instance to prevent boredom while waiting for the league to finish forming, and get more XP and INF. You'll just have to make sure that they don't engage any Pylon before you're ready. I hope this tip is helpful, and I hope that it will get more people to run instanced Rikti mothership raids. IMO, the instanced version really is the better way to run MSRs.
  14. I've teamed with level 50 PCs who legitimately had no idea how to get from Nerva to Sharkhead without the base macro. So, yes, player encouragement to explore is a good thing.
  15. Yeah. I try to avoid Atlas Park as much as humanly possible, so Cap au Diable is an excellent alternative.
  16. Holy thread necro, Batman! And yes, it is.
  17. There is an exploration badge for Kallisti Wharf in the Issue 27 beta, which lets you unlock it for LRT.
  18. I could be completely off-base, but IIRC the only way to obtain them prior to sunset was via Super Boosters, and any ATO gotten was account bound. Granted, it's been eight years.
  19. Unfortunately, I have discovered that it is needed to add “*RED SIDE*” (yes, in all caps), whenever advertising a Strike Force because if you don’t, you are almost guaranteed to get at least one person who will respond that they want in, have no idea how to get to Sharkhead/Grandville/wherever, discover that he or she is blue side, tell him or her how to get to Sharkhead/Grandville/wherever, wait ten minutes, and then either the person has logged or you will get a tell from him or her with something like, “My SG is calling. I have to go, bye.” Since I started adding “*RED SIDE*” to all Strike Force advertisements, that nonsense has been cut down very significantly, but even then I still occasionally get it.
  20. American cities, and especially American suburbs are designed around automobiles. You pretty much need one or have access to one in order to get around. You have to remember that North America is sparsely populated in comparison to Europe, and our cities and infrastructure are much newer, and were designed around the same time automobiles became popular. The two fed into each other and are pretty much inseparable, despite how hard some people try.
  21. "Dull" is a much better four letter word to describe blue or hero side. Whenever I form up a WST TF, I advertise it as the "Dull side WST" in LFG and the Excelsior and Excelsior Badges global channels. Amusingly, everyone knows exactly what side I'm referring to.
  22. Issue 27, Page One is Issue 26, Page Six renamed.
  23. Except, as has been explained over a million times over the past fifteen months (only a slight exaggeration), the removal of the base macro has zero to do with PvP. If It wasn't for the PvP community, no one would have found out about it in the first place as they were the first people that started to use it and spread the word around. It's going away because it was a coding hack that shouldn't have been added to the game in the first place, it is a command that only GMs and developers should have had access to, and because an absolutely massive exploit for it was discovered several weeks ago that requires its removal ASAP. Not only that, but it also negatively impacted teams for people who didn't use the exploit.
  24. I know of someone with tens of pages of that, made the first week of Homecoming.
  25. Unlike via Tequila, City of Heroes via the Homecoming Launcher does not seem to recognize UI scale automatically. I had to disable the option under Options > Windows and manually set the UI scale to 125%, the same as Windows 10.
