  1. That's an awfully high horse to be riding around on. Without the drops from people farming and marketeering, people would find it significantly more difficult to "actively engage with the community while also work through story based content." As for soloing, I solo the vast majority of the time. Because I want to. I know some people find this difficult to believe because I actively lead raids, but I'm an introvert. A pretty extreme one, as a matter of fact. I find dealing with people, even online, absolutely exhausting. The only reason why I lead raids is because I want to do the raid and feel that I need to lead in order to make it happen. No one else would lead Rikti mothership raids on the Champion server after the prior Rikti mothership raid organizer stopped. I was the first person to step up to lead Rikti mothership raids on the Exalted server. People keep forming zone MSRs on the Excelsior server in a way that directly results in the league bug which cuts a lot of people out of Vanguard merits, (including myself most of the time). Now it's because no one else will run the instanced Rikti mothership raid trial. So, in my downtime, I do my game related socializing by posting on the forums, playing TFs/SFs/Trials with friends, and running Rikti mothership raids. The rest of the time, I solo missions. Because I love City of Heroes and its lore, and I want to experience the story content on my own time without feeling rushed, and to recharge my battery so I can play TFs/SFS/Trials with friends and lead raids. If that's not playing the game, then I don't know what to tell you.
  2. Two reasons. 1. A lot of people still don't realize that Energy Aura was substantially buffed in Issue 21. 2. A lot of people don't like that Energy Cloak makes your character invisible. But I agree with you. Energy Aura is one of the top Scrapper secondaries.
  3. For Corruptors, in-game tooltips are indeed broken. Have been for several months now. It's a known bug, but low on the totem pole.
  4. They're wrong. The Corruptor numbers are including Scourge.
  5. That's why I used to do all of my crafting and marketeering in Imperial City the last couple of years prior to shutdown. Power suppressing auction house FTW.
  6. Yep. I like Fly and Afterburner (Hover is simply a necessary pick to get Afterburner), because I honestly don't see the point of playing a super-powered character without being able to fly. Super Speed is necessary in order to keep up on speed runs.
  7. Why play a Brute over a Tanker or Scrapper? Three reasons. 1. I like resistance based melee armor sets, (particularly Electric Armor and Radiation Armor). However, I feel that they're largely wasted on Scrappers due to the smaller resistance cap. That leaves Tanker or Brute. 2. Every character I play must have Fly, Hover, Afterburner, Super Speed, and Hasten. That leaves builds incredibly tight with little to no wiggle room. Playing a Brute instead of a Tanker allows me to skip Taunt as it's not largely expected for Brutes to have Taunt, unlike Tankers. 3. In relation to two, most melee attack sets have terrible tier one powers, and as I said my builds are incredibly tight. Playing a Brute allows me to skip the tier one melee attack. Taunt and the tier one melee attack are two forced power picks that I simply have no room for in the vast majority of my builds.
  8. People that do very high end Incarnate game play largely consider Blasters, Defenders, Dominators, Fortunatas, and Tankers (with the exception of Kinetics Corruptors), to be the only valuable ATs. Brutes and Corruptors (again with the exception of Kinetics), are no longer on that list. Two guesses as to why.
  9. Brutes aren’t useless. They allow you to skip Taunt, and to skip the tier one melee attack power which is useless on most melee attack sets. For those two reasons, I still prefer playing Brutes to Tankers in most cases.
  10. With a couple of different exceptions under very specific circumstances (Hello there, Fire/Kin against a GM), Blasters absolutely do more ranged damage than Corruptors.
  11. Nah. It sounds like it still happens while teaming for regular mission content which I don’t team for.
  12. Tanking Lord Recluse on a MLTF is not an AT issue, it's a power set issue. My Radiation Armor Brute can tank Lord Recluse just fine, as can any Electric Armor Brute.
  13. In theory, proc damage is AT agnostic. In practice, not so much. Tankers and Defenders are easier to build for survival in comparison to Brutes and Corruptors, giving them more room to slot damage procs in comparison.
  14. Break them down to threads. If you don't need the threads, then go to Ouroboros, buy an Ultimate inspiration for 30 Incarnate threads, and sell it on the auction house.
  15. Yep, damage procs are the problem, not so much Tankers.
  16. Ahh, that makes sense. I only ever team for TFs/SFs/Trials/Raids/Incarnate Trials, unless a friend needs help with something.
  17. All of my non-gold side toons are Rogues, and I have done plenty of Task Forces and Trials, and even lead many Task Forces and Trials since April of last year and have never, ever, been booted from a team.
  18. Best day in the game's history. Meant the only times I would see Paragon City from that day forward was to rob it! Mwahahahahaha!
  19. Unfortunately, at endgame, damage is all that's important. I don't like it, but there's no getting away from it. And with damage, Blasters win hands down. It's not even close to a contest. Now, if you don't like endgame, then sure, pick what you'd like to play.
  20. It is. Hail of Bullets only does 30% of the damage.
  21. Ooh, are they from Drenched Donuts in Faultline? Those are the best. Their doughnuts are why Arachnos established a base in Faultline, you know. Even we villains and rogues appreciate a tasty doughnut.
  22. And @Cipher Mr. Thurston Howell the Third, with that fancy top hat and all.
  23. Thank you for the update, Jimmy. FWIW, I've heard great things about IBM Cloud (formerly SoftLayer), but I know that they're quite a bit more expensive than OVH unfortunately. I'm sure that you and the others will find a more suitable host.
  24. Scotty, we need more power!
  25. The servers have been unstable all day. They're aware of it. It's an issue with the host Homecoming uses, and there's not much they can do about it unfortunately. Just have to have patience.
