  1. Subject title pretty much says it all. Can we get a couple of over-the-ear headphone options in the costume creator? We have ear muffs, but they're a bit fuzzy for selling the look.
  2. If it was me, I'd wait and see how things feel after you slot in your Alpha and even your Interface. Melee looks pretty generous if I'm reading the Paragon WIki page right. But if you're not hurting on survival at this point, you might consider Assault's Radial branch. Top tier would give a high chance of adding some serious Energy damage to your attacks. Something to consider.
  3. If endurance has been your biggest issue, then I think you're making the right call with Vigor. Resilient would only benefit your resistance powers and nothing else. Spiritual's recharge would just make end worse. Vigor ends up providing three benefits, 2 of which (acc and end) will both help endurance issues (you don't have to keep swinging more endurance away if you don't miss as often).
  4. Hmm. Ok, that's worth thinking about. As much as I loathe Sorcerers I can see a lot of value in that power. Disorient from outside their f'ing cloud insanity debuff and make all my melee friends happy. Oh, I'm not looking to button smash. It's fine in a MSR raid for 30 minutes at a time, but that stuff puts me to sleep. I've been enjoying the debuff toggles and then jumping around to strategically maximize the cone attack for more debuff. It's been fun trying to be all the buff/debuff god I can be as well as handing out the most damage I can. It's an actively involved combo. That said; I see how sleep could help, but that requires more discipline from my friends and PUB groups that I've seen. If Siren Song was a hold or immobilize it would be one I could use like that. So would you say you got to use Mutation frequently enough to be happy you took it? Funny enough, if I took it, I could see it being paired well by Fallout. Blow things up, and rez your team mate even better than they were before to kill the next mob. Did you just one slot recharge in Mutation and call it a day? Thanks for the really good input. And so quickly. You've given me some things to mull over.
  5. Hover as a travel power? Sounds like torture. I haven't used it since they boosted it during the live days, but I would imagine it's still pretty slow for travelling across a zone. Soft capped defense with 50+ Psi resist. That's a pretty good build, you should be happy with its performance. As for the cost of the build, I would say a few hundred million. That is, if you're just going to buy everything. There's some decent guides in the guide section for making more influence and obtaining IOs (i.e. using reward merits) that should be helpful.

    Kinetic Melee

Kin/Shield would probably deliver a good synergy for what you're aiming for. Shield provides the same +Dmg and -Dmg perks, and on top of that it's pretty easy to soft cap its defenses with IOs. So you can be impossible to hit and add some layered mitigation by reducing what damage does come through.
  7. Usually I run brutes or tanks with my friends. I really enjoy jumping into mobs and soaking up the aggro and damage as I dish it out. I want my teammates to have some of that feeling, so after some deliberation, I landed on making a Rad/Sonic. The debuff potential for -RES and -DEF looks downright devastating. I'm hoping my team mates will feel like they're just shredding foes easily. I'm currently leveling up my toon a couple of questions: • What powers do most people consider skippable? Does anyone end up making a lot of use out of Mutation in the later levels? What about Fallout? They both look pretty great on paper, I'm just worried that if I'm doing my job, I'll hardly get a chance to use them. I'm planning on skipping Shockwave, SIren's Song and possibly Screech unless some good arguments for taking them can be made. I just don't care for KB or Sleep effects and minor damage powers aren't that appealing. • If I'm able to debuff ToHit at -45% would that have the same result as my team being soft capped on defense? • What Alpha and Interface abilities have the best synergy for this kind of combo? I was looking through them, and after the amount of debuff I'll be doling out, additional -DEF/-RES procs and/or enhancement doesn't seem needed. Has anyone found a good complimentary set up with these? I'm thinking of taking Sorcery and Dark Mastery for the RES and Status toggles and focusing on RES bonuses and some recharge with IO bonuses. I'm not looking to spend too much on the build since it looks like it should perform amazingly well at it's job without IOs. Still, I'm open to hearing any issues anyone sees with going that route. For that matter, any kind of input is welcome.
  8. Pretty much my thoughts. Standard import/export, but decentralized files. Let it be something encrypted that the bigger server groups can make use of, but not something people can tamper with to boost their character.
  9. I'm gonna color outside the lines a little and so do... neither. Since you're playing Rad/Rad you could try boosting your survival by boosting your damage potential. Bear with me. With IOs, layer your damage mitigation with some defense. Sure, you could try to max out Resistance, but doing so with IOs can get complicated. There's way more defense bonuses to be found, and layered mitigation > than just specialized mitigation. So if you can do that, you already buy yourself more time in survival. Then slot the Musculature Core Paragon Alpha, which not only will give you an extra ~30% in damage enhancement (assuming your attacks are approaching diminishing returns at this point), but will also boost the defense debuff in your attacks and armor. You'll start melting away foes even faster than you were before. I've been using that in my Rad/ Brute, and the difference is pretty noticeable. I also use the Reactive Interface for -Res in my attacks as well. But you could use the Diamagnetic Interface ability for -To Hit debuffs to take your newly added defense bonuses further, and also get some -Regen debuffs which could help in AV fights. Or do both Interface abilities and swap out as needed.
  10. It really depends on what your friends Brute is playing with. You might want to plan for a synergy between your powersets as well as your ATs. For example, if he has a Resistance based Brute, you could layer on Defense buffs. Or vice-versa. But a good combo sounds like Sonic/Radiation or Rad/Sonic. You could debuff resistance and defense at the same time. Your friend will feel like a god as he easily hits and destroys enemies. If you go Sonic/Rad, you'll have more debuff options, but Rad/Sonic lets you put your debuff toggle on your friend so enemies get aggroed to him, not you.

    Rikti Smash

Probably so. but with IOs, you could probably account for those things. You could also consider Spines/. Seems plenty of farm builds are making use of that.

    Rikti Smash

You're correct, it won't. I'm thinking the defense debuff. But Burn is auto-hit, right? So it doesn't matter. I'm going to go with Musculature Core Paragon in my Alpha slot to provide my defense debuff enhancement. That and the 20ish% damage boost it will provide should have a noticeable effect on IG and AS combos.
  13. Dem's fightin' words!! But seriously, a fair point. I like using both Energy Punch and Bone Smasher as a good 1-2 combo when an enemy doesn't require Total Focus or Energy Transfer. All preference of course. But I'm right. :P
  14. The first encounter I've had in Homecoming that even comes close to approaching the idea of being toxic was the other night. After three team wipes in as many missions, the team leader said "I'm just gonna say it, this team doesn't mesh" and rage quit. Even though he kept selecting Carnies and Arachnos and setting to +2 for a team of 8 with minimal support for Psi and end drain, I thought we had done fairly well, only wiping due to some bad RNG streaks. But I wouldn't even call that toxic on his part. This community is rancid with politeness and friendliness.
  15. Which TF is that? ...asking for a friend. That would be the Market Crash TF, level 40+, starts in Kallisti Wharf. Well, and all of it is in Kallisti Wharf. And yes, on your first time ever doing it, you should get a purple recipe as a reward. Thanks for the tip!
  16. Whoa whoa whoa, we don't need none of your rationale thinking and pointing out of argument fallacies! +1 on some well reasoned alternative suggestions.
  17. Any chance of getting you to enlarge the size of your NDH pic?

    Rikti Smash

Are you looking mainly for something smashtastic? If so, I'd say SS/Shield, Elec/Shield, SS/Fire, maybe SS/Rad, Elec/Fire. Any of those sets, and squeeze in Spring Attack if you can for extra smashgasm fun. If you're just talking AoE carnage, I would second the Rad/Fire suggestion. Haven't tried the combo, but I've played Rad Melee to 50 and the AoE potential with /Fire would be pretty sweet. Pick up the Reactive Interface if you do, and you can have a lot of -def and minus -res with added Fire DoT. Now I'm thinking about Rad/Fire...

Wouldn't you want to do Atom Smasher before Burn for the added Contamination?
  20. What are you def and res totals across the board?
  21. Which TF is that? ...asking for a friend. A prudent approach. My selfish side agrees, because this will greatly slow down my build progress since I don't play as much as I used to. My non-selfish side sees good reason to wait and see how things balance out first, and then adjust as needed. Like you said, it's a young market. Not only that, it's a much smaller player base than the days of live. I was expecting much higher prices on the market due to a lower supply force, the changes you listed really helped with keeping things more affordable. I'm not entirely convinced we "needed" to nerf VM conversion rates. As dynamic as the market can be, and how creative people can get for making influence, I'd prefer to see some more empirical data driving the decision. It'll be interesting to see how the market changes after this. I half expect Purples to start jumping up.
  22. Oh yeah, pick up Bone Smasher. That's not a skippable power in my opinion.
  23. I'm at work and can't put this into Pine's for better viewing, but right off the bat I can tell you've over-slotted your toggles, and gimped a couple of attacks' enhancement values and somehow taken Weave before Tough and Energy Transfer at 35 (it unlocks at 38). The power selection order is being nit picky; just making sure you're aware when it comes time to play the character. You don't have any new attacks between lvl 16 and lvl 35. That's gonna be a slow game if you're soloing. And on a team, you'll mostly just be standing there spamming taunt. Which, hey, you can do, and that's ok. But you'll probably get pretty bored and it's possible to tank for a team and attack. What kind of bonuses are you aiming for? What are the goals you're trying to achieve? Knowing that will help us help you. Your armors don't really need to be 5 or 6 slotted. Any bonuses you're getting there you can likely get by 5-6 slotting an attack. 3-4 slots in def/res toggles usually suffices. If you're not sure where to best get bonuses from, I'd start by looking here and maximizing your bonus to slots used ratio as best you can. I'd pay attention to endurance enhancement values in your attacks. They'll spend more endurance than your toggles. Seeing as you won't have any endurance recovery/help powers until your 40s, slotting for end would be a good idea. Sorry, I know I mostly dumped on your build, but it's looking a bit rough. EM is a fun set and does pretty good damage out of the box (single target). You could have a pretty good boss aggroing and killing build with the right approach.
  24. Seeing as this game's level of customization is one of the biggest reasons I'm here and becomes a time sink when I make a new character, I'm all for it. That said, not sure that's a feasible change. Might be right up there with allowing different gloves. Both suggestions I like, but won't hold my breath for.
